It’s very nice and sleek, obviously the feel is different from the actual ps5 controller but overall he liked it. Very convenient because you don’t necessarily have to be in the same room as the console itself.

Great for playing most games over wifi but not so great playing higher AAA titles. The higher end games like cyberpunk 2077 have buffering issues but stray plays great

If you have PSN premium this thing is all you need, you can play it like a backbone without your console running

Built-in Controller: Unlike using a tablet with a separate controller, the Portal combines the screen and controller into one device. It feels familiar, with DualSense features like vibration and resistive triggers. The touch pad is replaced by a virtual version on the screen. Portability: The Portal lets you play PS5 games anywhere within your home. It strikes a balance between screen size and portability, making it convenient for gaming on the go. Limited Functionality: While the controls and screen quality are excellent, the Portal lacks media functions, Bluetooth, and a touch pad. Casual PlayStation gamers may find it limiting. In summary, if you want a dedicated Remote Play solution with a great screen and built-in controls, the PlayStation Portal is worth considering. Just be aware of its limitations.

If you like the ability to game around the house, this is perfect. It is helpful when your significant other is using the TV, or you're just in a different spot, like watching a baby monitor or tending to the grill! Also good if you have some downtime between projects, or when you're on vacation. Haven't had significant connectivity issues in the home.

Made my boyfriend extremely happy! Great for traveling, especially to see family. He used to take the whole console and now he can play all his favorites from far away. Pretty amazing!

You don't need a PlayStation 5 to use this portable station. You can purchase the PS premium yearly pass and stream games via Wi-Fi. Zero lag, and it runs smoothly.

I really enjoy using the portal. Its incredible to play PS5 games on the go and now with the remote access to some ps5 games without the console its even better.

I was going back and forth for the longest time whether or not to buy the PS portable. “Is it worth it, will I use it”. But I must say my doubts have been firmly dismissed! This is a great handheld for anyone who owns a PS5/PS4 games, super easy to set up, and the battery life is pretty solid. The fact that I can pick it up and play when my wife is watching here reality TV shows, and we can sit in the same room is amazing!

Full disclosure. This accessory to the PS5 is a lot of fun to use, but its not perfect. The purpose of this PS5 accessory is to be able to play your games via remote play “only” over wifi, ideally in your home where your PS5 resides. It is possible to play away from your home with a wifi source, but the experience isn’t as good in my testing. I would consider my home setup to be the perfect scenario to use the Portal. I have 1 gig fiber for my internet provider and a high end Wifi 6e router hardwired to my PS5 in my living room. I’m generally 6 to 10 feet from my router while using my Portal and while I haven’t experienced any drop out or delay connecting to my PS5 or my sons PS5 (his is on wifi) I have noticed frame drops and screen tearing on mainly multi player games such as Call of Duty MW3 or Fortnite. I only had one noticeable frame drop on Spiderman 2, but nothing that would make the experience lackluster. Its great to have essentially a PS5 controller and everything it has to offer wrapped around a very nice looking 8” screen. It really feels like a high end portable system even though its just a remote player. Hopefully Sony will have an update in the near future to help make the playability more seamless and more features to unlock. The positives out weigh the negatives for sure. If your like me and have more than just yourself in your household, then I would recommend this $200 accessory as it is a lot of fun to have your PS5 in the palm of your hand.

I absolutely love this thing. Is it perfect? No, you need a strong wifi or you'll lose image quality, drop frames, or some sound will hiccup. But when it's working it's a wonderful extension to my PS5. I love what they did with the controller part and the lights. It's exactly what I need to get into the smaller less intense games like Octopath Traveler. I definitely recommend to anyone.
