I originally preordered this from Playstation but I cancelled my preorder to wait on reviews. I was able to secure an open box - excellent Portal as I was going out of town and wanted to try it on the road. There are some things that could be improved, such as lack of Bluetooth support and lack of Internet Browser for Captive Portal APs, but for the most part this is awesome as long as you have a decent Internet connection. I would give this 4.5 stars out of 5 for this. While at my friend's house, we were both able to play online even with me remoting to my ps5 miles away. I do recommend, however, setting a static IP for your ps5 and port forward on your router as well as wiring your ps5 to your router. Games run smooth if you do this and have a decent Internet connection. While at home, this device works perfectly when the wife wants to watch Netflix and we share a TV.

I own an ROG ally and trully like to play on couch while playing some movie or whatever. Doing the same with the PS5 seemed like an intriguing idea. Price point is higher than I would like but it does not mean is overpriced. Just pricey. The built quality is up to par with other PS accessories. Panel colors are really crisp and smooth. Set up is very easy from opening box to playing remote. Only feature missing imo is cloud gaming. As of right now is not possible to do anything without a PS5 remotely connected. The propierary wireless audio is a big negative.

This is a great streaming device for anyone that is interested in playing their PlayStation 5 handheld. Although you can play movies on your PS5, they will not stream to this device. Also if you're wanting to play co-op without split screen, this isn't going to be the answer. You can play co-op with one person playing on the TV and one person playing remotely but both screens will still display as split screens. The portal will only stream games and will display exsactly as it would on your TV. Quality of the streaming will depend greatly on users Wi-Fi quality. Feels very similar to the DuelSense controller in hand, with slightly smaller more raised joysticks. The screen is beautiful and a great size for handheld gaming.

As a frequent traveler, I was looking for a convenient way to enjoy my PlayStation games on the go and during downtime, and the PlayStation Portal has exceeded my expectations! Being able to play my PS5 games in bed, without having to set up downstairs every time, is a game-changer. The device is lightweight, easy to carry, and the screen quality does justice to the games’ visuals. The battery life is impressive, which is crucial for those long travel days. I found the setup to be straightforward, seamlessly integrating with my existing PlayStation ecosystem. The price point is also very reasonable, offering great value for a high-quality gaming experience. I highly recommend the PlayStation Portal to anyone who wants to keep gaming while away from their main console setup. It’s like having a portable PS5 at your fingertips!

I really like using the Portal. It’s great to use when I want to play, but can’t use the TV.
The only negative is, when I’m in a hotel room, I can’t always connect to wifi, since most hotel WiFis require an acknowledgement using an internet browser. The Portal doesn’t have a browser built into it.
This wasn’t a dealbreaker for me though.

It works, I got this so I wouldn’t monopolize the TV, but I don’t really use it as much. It works and flawlessly too, but I am not happy I spent the money. Unless you constantly need to game, it’s a frivolous expense

The PlayStation Portal is an incredible device for remote gaming! It's sleek and portable, making it easy to take my PS5 experience on the go. The 8-inch screen is vibrant and delivers a crystal-clear picture. The DualSense controller integration is seamless, providing the same immersive experience as playing on a PS5. The battery life is decent, and the setup process is quick and straightforward. Overall, the PlayStation Portal is a fantastic way to enjoy PS5 games on the go, and I highly recommend it to any PS5 owner!

Only thing I hate about this is I can’t buy games from PlayStation and have them download it to this. I don’t have a console, but it feels like I have a console and I could play with my brothers online.

Didn’t think I needed to buy a PS Portal, but finally caved and glad I did! Allows me to play games while my wife is watching her shows. Also, I find myself just playing on it anyways even when the TV is available, the handheld feature is just nice. Do it.
