For all Dads out there, the PlayStation Portal is a solid option for remote gaming. It connects seamlessly to the PS5, allowing you to play your favorite games away from the main TV when it is occupied by Bluey or Sesame Street. The screen is sharp, and the controls feel just like a DualSense controller. However, it’s limited by requiring a constant, strong internet connection, and it doesn’t support cloud gaming or local apps. Overall, it’s great for PS5 owners who want a fully console experience while their main TV is occupied or while laying in bed, but some limitations may not make it ideal for everyone.

I’ve had my PS Portal for a little over two weeks, and all in all, it has exceeded my expectations. Playing at home, I’ve noticed very few signs that indicate I’m not playing my games natively on the portal.
The picture on the display is crisp, the sound is pretty loud, and the build feels premium. The handheld experience is in a league of its own, in my opinion. The screen size, the familiar feel of the Dual Sense controller, and the haptic feedback almost feels like I'm playing on my PS5—minus the obvious screen size difference from a TV to an 8-inch screen.
The PS Portal has given me the freedom to play anywhere in my house without the hassle of setting up remote play on my phone, laptop, and a controller. When my wife is watching her shows, the portal makes it easy and convenient to have the option to play. It’s a win-win for gamers like me!

I picked up a Portal on a whim ahead of a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by it. The best way to think of it is it's not as a stand alone console but rather a two-way streaming device of your PS5. It does take a little getting used to, especially if you're playing a live service game. But as long as you have at least an 15 Mbps connection you should be fine.
One major downside is it can be tricky to connect. Connecting to a network that uses a captive portal/login page can be difficult as it doesn't have a built-in browser. Using a travel router or hotspot is probably the best way to go to avoid this problem.

Bought this as a gift and he loved it. Great for playing on PS5 in a different room. You do need good WiFi connection or else the graphics on the screen get a little fuzzy

Got for myself when my fiance is playing their ps5 and I could play my games along side them. It’s really cool to have that option now and it feel like im on a psp again. We both have our own portals and we have really seen the convenience
