The Sony wired, noise cancelling headphones offer exactly what is described; noise cancelling at a cheaper price point than the higher end Sony models. It does run on an AAA battery, which has so far lasted me 4 weeks, using it for about 6 hours for 3 days a week. The wire is the cheaper Sony rubber one, but should last long if you’re not too rough with it. The cushions are comfortable, which is important as the headphones can become tight and cause discomfort with extended use. The design is plastic, but doesn’t feel cheap like others have stated. Overall, these headphones are a good choice for a quick solution to cancelling surrounding noise, and a no brainer when they go on sale.

I was very skeptical about buying these. I have Bluetooth headphones but I wanted one that plugged in as well. And despite the price these actually work really good. The sound is great and the noise cancellation feature is really good but be careful it can make certain songs a lot louder than expected. I’m sensitive to high pitched sounds so it’s not always great for me so I love having the option to muffle the sound a little bit (turn the noise cancellation feature off). It’s also really sturdy and durable the cord hasn’t been bent or nicked yet. If you are looking to save some money but still get a nice pair of headphones I definitely recommend these.

Good noise cancelling, light weight, good price, comfortable

These Special Sony headphones are excellent in performing exactly what they are designed for. They are priced appropriately and work perfectly in all of the airplane audio systems. The headphones are clear and deliver a good range of audio from high notes to full bass. I am very pleased with my purchase and find them comfortable and lightweight for long periods of listening for movies, games, or whatever. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality sound at a very reasonable cost.

I used these on an overseas flight. Nose cancelling feature worked very well and they were extremely comfortable for extended use. My only issue was the short battery life on the noise cancelling feature. I had to replace the battery after 12 hours of use.

I bought these for a recent trip to Asia to reduce/eliminate plane noise, since it was an 18-hour flight. Not being a frequent traveler, I didn't want to spend $300+ on a pair of headphones that I would wear once a year. I bought these after searching the Best Buy website and seeing the reviews of this product. Plus, being a Sony product, I was pretty sure that they wouldn't be lousy. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these headphones considering the price point. The sound was really good and the noise cancelling worked very well. If you have somebody talking to you when the noise cancelling function is on, forget about hearing them. The only complaint that I have is that they are more on the ear, than over the ear. Aside from that, they work really well and are a great value. I definitely recommend this product.

Sound quality is great. They are comfortable, and no one has complained if hearing my music. The price is definitely right!

Sony is a good product when it comes to sound and they do compete well with companies like Beats, JBL and Bose. These headphones are pretty good and the sound bass is good. Here is the thing about this headphones in order to hear the good quality of these headphones you need one AAA battery and the reason for that is it gives it power for the noise canceling experience and good bass, you can still hear without the battery but it is HIGHLY recommended and it does have a switch when you want to turn on and off the bass and that is the reason why these headphones are budget friendly. Also note these headphones are NOT wireless they are wired.

Bought these before a cross country flight based on reviews here and elsewhere. The noise cancellation properties are only so-so. I have a pair of Etymotic in-ear phones that offer far better isolation and much lower overall noise level. They're about twice the price though. I find these useful in my office environment. They're good at blocking out conversation type noise. The musical sound they produce is OK. I find them similar to Apple 2nd generation ear-buds. The Etymotics are much more neutral and "true". These are slightly bass biased but not overly so. It's good to have an alternative to in-ear and ear-buds without spending a lot. For the money, I'd buy them again.

Needed a new pair of headphones for my PC my last pair wore out. I was looking for good value and a comfortable fit. These headphones fit the bill. BTW - the noise cancelling function uses batteries, but the head phones work fine w/o it. Just a word to the wise if you don't need noise cancelling and want to save on battery life

Been using these headphones for years now. Good price when they're on sale for $30. I use one pair for working out and others for when I am traveling or am at my desk working. The noise-cancelling works best in already low-noise environments as it more so amplifies music being played, but it does help drown out some background noise (e.g., treadmill, distant talking, etc.) I use them when I fly and they do subdue the noise of the engines, but it definitely does not completely cancel out noise around you. But, again, you don't expect that for $30 headphones and I prefer to use cheap ones like these in case they get lost or stolen. Of the three pairs I own, my first pair still works and I have been using them almost daily for several years now. I will keep buying them for what I use them for and for their low price. My headphones work great for my school studies, and I would recommend them to others. The quality of the headphones are exceptional. The headset was a great price and the stereo sound is great. They are comfortable and was a nice replacement choice. Can't go wrong with Sony. Bought them for my 12 year old granddaughter and she loves them. Works fantastic with her phone,tablet and PC. These ate just as good as higher priced ones. Definitely worth it

Good sound. Short cord. Good products for the price. I like Sony products and I trust Best Buy when I buy name brand products. Not exactly what I was looking for but it serves the purpose I bought it for.

Tried the earlier model that was replaced. This one works much better when you activate the noise cancelling feature. I've been able to sleep through the construction next door in the mornings. The on-ear is much more comfortable than I expected, also. Great new model by Sony.

These are very good for gaming! We use it for listening to music too. Rather have over the ears as they don't hurt your ears. Very comfortable to wear.

I really bought these headphones for one main reason, and that was to use them at work during a series of project management training meetings (using Microsoft Teams). But as it turns out, not only were they suitable for that, but they also come in handy when I need some audio privacy at my desk. Sure, at $50 you’re not going to get a really high-end experience, but I think for the money there’s not much to complain about. The sound quality is good, and the comfort level is decent considering the pricing tier. So, if you’re looking for a secondary pair of headphones that you won’t regret purchasing and that also don’t cost an arm and a leg, do consider taking a look at these.

Headphones are comfortable, reasonable price, and sturdy. Decent noise cancellation. Had a pair of these for over 5 years until they stopped working, but I was using them everyday so that was expected.
