I needed a portable radio for when I shave. Admittedly I had low expectations but I was impressed when I rec'd this radio. I live in an area where reception can be a problem. No problem here, great reception, clear sound. A great value for $20.

I really like my sony radio. it is compact and has great sound. I like the red light that lights up when it finds each station. I also like the green light that lets me know it is on. I love listening to FAMILY RADIO and sports.

Nothing fancy and analog tuning. Fits in pocket and fair sound for a small radio. The larger Sony model has a better speaker, but might be too big for some pockets. Mono sound for earbuds. Best use is sports, news and talk radio, not music.

Nice small radio for occasional use. easy to carry around. Good quality sound and easy to use.

I live neer Charleston S.C. one thing for sure we get bad weather. When the power goes out I have my Sony AM/FM. But I use it all the time great sound. It's not made in China.

Great little radio! Gets good reception and it's just a wonderful form factor for carrying around. My only issue is that the tuning and volume wheels are just a little TOO easy to move--it's hard to move it around in a bag without losing the frequency or wildly changing the volume.

I bought this radio for under twenty dollars and am happy with it I use it when I sit outside on my deck with my two dogs it works fine and I would buy another if the need arose

Perfect for what i was looking for; small, portable, quality, and best of all a good specific AM station I listen to.

My Mom (96 years) wanted transistor radio for weather outages and listening to ball games outside, this Sony radio fit the bill perfectly. Easy to operate, good reception and small enough for her to take it anywhere. Gives her peace of mind she can stay connected if power goes out and in emergencies. Radio is of good quality, did not break bank and has basic features which is all she wanted. Perfect!

I purchased this radio for emergency use. When the hurricane caused us to lose all cell and power service, we were cut off from civilization! This will help with situations like that. Clear reception and am/ fm bands.

I like my little radio as it is small enough to fit into my purse; and the convenience of it being battery operated makes the radio always accessible.

The sound is a bit tinny, but the radio gets good reception, the tuner is very sensitive and you can pick up a far off am.

I needed a radio to listen for weather issues while at work. The associate found this for me and it works great. Runs on battery incase of power outage.

Bought this for my 11 year old. Something for him to use to listen to music while we are out and about. Good size and able to pick up most local stations.

Bought it as a gift for dad. Never thought it would turn out so good. Though I got lots of channels over frequencies getting mixed. But when you have it set perfectly, the sound is pretty awesome. The built-in antenna does help catch the frequency. Plus point - It has a built in speaker so need for an earphone/headphone.

This is at the bottom of the technology spectrum, but just what my 93 year old mother wanted. Not too many buttons or settings for her to figure out. Digital settings are beyond her so old time analog is just fine.

Bought this to use the AM frequency to locate Invisible Fence wire break in the yard. (For this purpose a "transistor" radio is required. This was the closed I could find, though I don't think it is actually a transistor.) The antenna was helpful. The dial is average but smooth enough to finesse zeroing in on the right station. Headphone jack was a must for this purpose and would be appreciated by someone that wanted to use headphones with the radio. Physical quality of the product is a little shoddy which is disappointing to the Sony brand but it was not a big investment so it's what I would have expected from another brand. (If you want to locate an invisible dog fence perimeter break you need an inexpensive 'clutch' to connect to the IF transmitter. There are instructional tutorials online that help learn how to use it for the purpose of finding a wire break.)

Can be used with earphones or without with built in speaker; I put in old batteries and it still worked fine...Sony quality and solidly built.
