Reviewed several bluetooth speakers looking for a little larger size in hopes of better quality sound. This speaker sounds great! Full rich sound, clarity is fantastic! Good bass and even better when you set it on a cushion or pillow rather than a hard surface. Still small enough to move from room to room. No battery so must be plugged in but worth it for the excellent quality sound. Absolutely love the remote control or use smart phone. Get Sony app for additional features such as equalizer!.

The ability to connect with wifi, bluetooth and apple airplay is really cool. Great sound and loud for my teenage daughter. She was looking for big sound with a small footprint. Highly recommend this over the other similar products as it was universal vs Apple only focus.

I got this for the airplay, works great, easy to set up, I just connect the Ethernet cable to my laptop, and put in all the wifi setup info, and it is on. I can play through ipad and imac without any issue. Sound quality is good, just keep in mind, this one doesn't have built in battery. Also, the included remote is nice. Overall, happy with the buy, also, Sony still builds quality product.

I am writing for someone who has professional hearing. I have used BOSE for 13 years. At this time I was looking for the Bluetooth items pairing with my I-Pad, I-Pod, Kids' I-Phone, and laptops, et al. and of course I started to search from the BOSE speakers. BOSE has several Bluetooth products and I spent so much time to try each, I had to return home without purchasing with disappoint. And I decided to try other brands and I was happy to find this Sony - Premium High-Resolution Bluetooth Speaker System finally after trying many of Bluetooth speakers at the Best Buy Store. Just try and compare before making a decision. For the Bluetooth audio this will be the best for now until BOSE makes better Bluetooth speakers if you want to professional sound.

Yes, it must be plugged in, but that's the only real downside to this great little speaker. Will it replace a real stereo? Of course not, but it is quite enjoyable on its own merits. I have never heard a battery powered speaker capable of delivering this level of clarity. The sound is balanced across the spectrum; no artificial colorations to this small box. That sets it apart from a crowded field of loud but horribly distorted speakers that seem to be the fashion despite their minimal degree of fidelity to the source material. There are numerous connection methods: wi-fi, Bluetooth, USB, optical and analog. All of them are easy to set up and use. IMO, this flexibility makes the X88 the best speaker of its type. Having scooped it up as an open-box, I think it's fair to say it's the best in its price range too. Recommended!

In terms of sound quality the X88 is fantastic. Playing Hi-Res audio files sound crisp and clean. I was surprised at it's ability to hit both very high and very low notes.

It's not often you find a bluetooth speaker that supports DSD64 and DSD128, as well as files at a resolution of 192/24, and Sony's SRS-X88 is a true audiophile Bluetooth speaker that does just about anything. The sound is very well balanced, and distortion in the bass is kept to a minimum even at very loud volume levels. The feet that lifts the speaker from the surface it is placed on certainly helps a lot with the purity and dynamics in the bass region. A nice semi-portable speaker. I say "semi" because it does need to be plugged in to an electrical outlet. However you have many options to connect to a music source: bluetooth, USB, stereo mini-jack, ethernet, AirPlay, Spotify, Google Cast, DNLA. I am very happy with the sound quality for the price.

This speaker can get loud but still keeps everything in control. No distortion! I really love the sound quality. Very crispy and clear. The bass is just right to my liking and it doesnt sound overwhelming at all. That is not to say this speaker looks really premium . Sleek design!

This speaker had been great - from setup to ease of connecting to the other components. The sound is great and it looks cool too.

This is good speaker, with good quality sound, only the price is too hight, a buy tha mine in special, maybe in other way no buy.

My one and only flaw....it has to be plugged into an outlet in order to function. Overall great sound and it's great that it connects to via wifi to other speakers/NT5 Soundbar.

This is an amazing portable speaker! It's pretty lightweight. It has great sound as well! The one negative is that if the bass is strong, then the speaker can move around.

It is good for style and sound quality but it is not portable and without charge battery -- It say that it have the charge in specification on line.

Hey I am a bass head and like music with deep bass so this speaker that plays clean and crisp and is perfectly adequate for music like rock and jazz this would be just fine but if you like Electronic music this just won't cut it. I returned this and for a hundred dollars more opted but the great bass of the Sonos 5. Sure its more money but if you want a compact speaker with great bass you spring for it and won't be satisfied with this.

I love the connectivities it has...It almost supports all formats, and the sound it produces is amazing.

Not as convenient as I had hoped. Battery powered would have been great. Produces a wonderful sound.

We use this receiver in our medium-sized TV room and route Blue Ray DVD and Roku through its HDMI ports. We use the optical input from our Vizio TV for normal TV viewing via Tivo. (We also route our older Apple TV through the Vizio.) As with previous Sony receivers we have owned, the sound is true and very crisp, especially for concerts and movies. We are very pleased with it.

The speaker sounds great. It's easy to use and several great functions.
