Amazing Party Speaker!!!!

Let me tell you this, the only thing little on this Bluetooth speaker is the size and even that is a good thing. Soundcore by Anker- Rave Neo Bluetooth Speaker is an amazingly loud, fun, portable and a waterproof (IPX7) Bluetooth speaker and a convenient phone charging port all in one, and let me tell you for the price this thing packs a punch. So, lets go over some of the features and pros and cons of the soundcore Rave Neo.
Unboxing and Setup-
The Soundcore comes nicely packaged and included in the box is the manual and a charging cable. My speaker was delivered with 75% charge and was ready to go right out of the box. The speaker is solid, and has some heft to it. It measures about 11in tall and 5.5in wide at the widest point and roughly weighs about 8lbs. The speaker can be charged with the USB-C charger.
Features-
50W Sound-
This speaker is packed with tons of neat features like 50W sound, it gets pretty loud with beat driven lights.
Bass Up Technology-
The Bassup technology adds some extra bass to your music, but not to much, just the right amount. I recommend keeping the Bassup option on because the music sounds kind of flat without it.
Playtime-
For a speaker and a portable power station you are looking at a whopping 18hrs of playtime on a full charge, but I suppose that time would decrease if you are also charging your phone at the same time. I did not get to fully test out this feature but I was able to play music and charge my phone for a good four hours with no issues at all.
Soundcore App-
Even though you can use the speaker without the app, I would highly recommend using the Soundcore App to unlock the full potential of this speaker. The app allows you to control the lights, the pattern of the lights, the colors, the equalizer, the bass, games, and even become your little light party DJ.
Power IQ Charge out-
The speaker has a usb port in the back that allows you charge your phone while pumping your music.
Built-in Microphone-
So this speaker also has a built in microphone which worked just fine, just in case you need to take a phone call while playing some beats.
Fully Waterproof (IPX7)-
Now testing out this feature was the best part. I really wanted to see if this speaker was waterproof, so I fully submerged the speaker in about a foot of water (so you don’t have to), and kept the speaker there for about 10 minutes and this thing kept kicking. So, if you take this speaker with you to a pool party and accidently drop it in the pool, or if it starts raining out and you leave the speaker out in the rain, you can rest assured that it will still work and keep putting on a light show and dropping some beats for you.
PartyCast-
So, this feature I was not able to test, but theoretically you can linkup to 100+ devices together and create a massive surround sound system. Unfortunately, I did not have another speaker to link together to test out this feature, but judging by how everything else played out for me, I am sure this feature would also work just fine. (kind of bummed that I could not try out this feature)
All in all, this is probably the best party speaker you can buy for a reasonable price, that will give you an amazing sound quality, that’s waterproof and full of fun features. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking.

--- SETUP ---
The setup for the Soundcore speaker is fast. Out of the box, it is charged enough to last you a party. It can be charged with a USB-C cable, which is included. Pairing is quick and simple, like pairing other bluetooth devices. You can also use an auxiliary device or a USB with songs in it.
--- FEATURES ---
The key features of this speakers includeL IPX7 rating (fully waterproof for 30 minutes), a handle for portability, an IQ USB port (for charging other devices like iPhones at their fastest speeds), and an auxiliary port when wireless isn’t an option. There is an option called PartyCast which allows you to connect up to 100 speakers wirelessly (though I couldn’t test it for lack of a second speaker). It also has a companion app with nifty features that enhance the speaker’s user experience.
--- PERFORMANCE ---
The performance of the speaker itself is phenomenal. I planned on listening to a couple of songs the first night I received it and I ended up spending about 2 hours just running through different songs such as English Rock, Spanish Rock, Salsas, Bachatas, Pop, and even some acoustic music. They all sounded great, regardless of genre, with no loss of fidelity in speaker vs. lows and highs each variety of music offered. I also enjoyed it later while listening to some podcasts and cooking. I can see this bringing life to an otherwise dull barbecue party.
--- EXPECTATIONS ---
The product exceeded my expectations. I downloaded the companion app called Soundcore. It is not needed to use your speaker with bluetooth and even though I fully expected to dismiss it, I found some reasons to keep using the app. For instance, my friends and I love playing board games from time to time. Within the app, you can play games that are associated with colors and the colors are represented visually in the speaker. The included games are truth or dare, spin the bottle, and a trivia game. The trivia game does provide you with a question that the selected player has to answer and gives you 5 seconds. The spin the bottle and the truth or dare game don’t include any options, so the game master has to come up with questions for the group. However, I can see myself using this as a random selector feature for other board games or games that my group comes up with on the fly. It is only accessible while connected to the speaker, so it is a nice addition that I think few speaker companies would come up with. Other features of the app include DJ Lights, which allow you to control the lights of the speaker by tapping your fingers on the app. It is a nice novelty, but it quickly overstays its welcome and you probably won’t be using it much. A big reason why is that there is a clear delay from when you press the button on the app to when it registers on the speaker. A function of the DJ app is to add beats to existing music, but it was hard to time it and just wasn’t fun. However, the speaker itself is worth it and the app is worth the download too for the included games. I do hope they support it with more games in the future. One feature I wasn’t able to test is the party cast, which allows you to connect up to 100 speakers wirelessly, allowing for a more full sound experience.
--- VALUE ---
The price for the Soundcore Speaker in terms of value is worth it, considering other speakers go for twice the price and sound just a loud.
--- APPROVAL ---
I highly recommend this product for people who like enjoying music outdoors. This will make a greatly appreciated gift for college students and a nice addition to people who barbeque or own pools.

Excellent portable speaker

This portable speaker has strong audio performance with vibrant bass depth and crisp high sound. The unit's size is just right for easy carrying, comfortable padded handle straps made of polyester webbing (dries fast), and lightweight (6.4 lbs). The bottom base is wide enough, and with most of the weight on the bottom, this speaker is stable enough and will not get knocked down easily. An IPX7 rating means that the unit is fully waterproof up to 3 feet submersible and up to 30 minutes. One should avoid getting the speaker wet when possible to prolong the unit's life, but it is excellent to know that it won't be damaged if an accident happened. The connection ports are on the rear bottom and have a waterproof tight lid that must be close, making the unit fully waterproof secured. The charging port is a USB Type-C, there is a USB Type-A port for charging other mobile devices, and a standard Aux connection. What is only included, besides the manual book, is a USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable. Note that it does not include a wall power adapter. But this might not be an issue with most users since most homes already have some power charging adapters from other devices and some outlets already have USB Type-A ports to charge devices. A device connects to the speaker either via Aux (cable not included) or Bluetooth. With a Bluetooth connection, I recommend using the app to avoid connection issues every time the speaker is powered. A few times, I had to turn on, off, and then on the speaker to get a successful connection. You will have no connection issue if you install the Soundcore app on your device.
The Soundcore app is straightforward to use and loaded with excellent features/settings. The app's basic controls are play, pause, volume control, BassUP on/off, LED lights effects, preset equalizer(EQ), and customizable EQ. Two additional features with the app are (1) control the lights with sound effects and (2) Party games. The led light settings are for changing the color and effects. These are the included sound effects: alien, alarm, hit, kick, radio, rewind, space, DJ, scream 1&2, yeah, drum 1,2,&3, piano, maraca, and saxophone. What I like the best of the bonus features are the party games. There are three types of games: (a) Truth or Dare, (b) Spin the Bottle, and (b) Spin the Wheel categories. In the spin-the-wheel game, a selected player will have 5 seconds to answer a random question, such as name x numbers of animals, parks, holidays, companies, etc. All games can have up to 10 players.
On top of the speaker is the panel with the basic control buttons: (1) power on/off, (2) Bluetooth, (3) PartyCast, (4) Volume up, (5) Volume down, and (6) a single button for song play /pause /skip / & skip previously. The Soundcore is now my favorite go-to speaker since it produces a great bass that drops lovely. The overall sound that comes out is nice and round in all directions. To conclude, this speaker is a great portable speaker, produces excellent sound, and works great with its app.

Disclaimer, I’ve been a long time fan of Anker devices, mostly for their battery performance and portable phone charging cells.
I was excited to see them vertically integrating using their own internal components in producing this speaker; not unlike Duracell branded flashlights and other alkaline battery devices.
This speaker arrived very well-packed, so much so that I feared this “portable” speaker was going to be the size of a compact PA system. Upon opening it was obvious that extra care and insulation protects this thing during shipping. The size really is perfect, with a nice handle to tote the thing around.
Upon immediately firing it up I was paired up, jamming flash pop music (and by flashy I mean the bright neon pulsating variety) walking around the house to show wife and kids how frigging COOL this thing is.
It’s not without shortcomings. Namely, sound quality. It’s not intended to replace an audiophile stereo system. This is designed for party spaces, i.e. outdoor, poolside, beach, providing very high quality sound, along with pulsating neon colors (hence the RAVE in the name). For what it is, Anker absolutely nailed it !! The SoundCore App is a great addition unlocking even more functionality.
PROS
+ Connectivity
USB-C, USB-A (IQ), Aux port, Bluetooth
+ Charges iPhone when powered up
+ Waterproof (IPX7) submersible
+ LED Lighting pulsates to the beat of the music
+ Excellent Anker Battery life
+ compact size with excellent portability
+ strong and solid bass response
+ scalable by adding additional Rave Neo for Party Mode
+ SoundCore App nicely integrations with full control
CONS
-Sound quality slightly tinny
-unclear if true stereo separation is possible by pairing
CONCLUSION
Anker is a company that I’ve continued to be impressed with. Originally dismissed as cheap Amazon electronics years ago, they’ve made steady improvements year-over-year while climbing the quality and reliability ladder. The fact that Best Buy is now selling their stuff is vindication that it’s quality kit.
Not to mention that this SoundCore Rave Neo product is FUN. It’s clever, creative, colorful and sounds good. I offer a BUY recommendation without reservation.

Where do I begin? I've had numerous Anker products. Alot of their flashlights and was always impressed with the materials and high quality. This Soundcore falls right in line with everything else I've gotten from them. This little thing has it all!
It's got super bright led's on the front that beat and react to whatever sound is coming through the speaker. It's basically a ported sub with baffles that you can feel the air pushing out when the bass hits.
It's got multiple preset EQ settings and you can set your own personal setting. you can link up to 100+ speakers to cast throughout. It's waterproof with a rating IPX7 so safe to take to the beach or pool. The buttons are all sealed so that no dirt or sand gets behind or under them as you can see in the picture. It has a nice sturdy and movable handle for carrying. It has a USB type C for fast charging and also can be used to charge your devices from the Soundcore. It's seems under rated at 50 watts thee sound is amazing!
The app gives you more ways to tweak your setup and change how the led's light and what color formations there are..I really can't say enough how happy I am with this item. Rated 18 + hours of play time. That's a really long party haha Would highly recommend this to others

It’s worth every penny, you won’t be disappointed. But if all you want is bass and don’t care about features then maybe go for a soundbar that comes with a sub and place the sub on a corner. Overall this is a great speaker with decent bass.

The Soundcore Rave Neo Bluetooth Speaker is another portable speaker geared towards providing a quick party atmosphere. It packs a punch and sounds good for the price, it is top of the line high fidelity speaker?, no it is not. However, it does the trick and pumps out the bass and can be tuned using the mobile app for different sound profiles. The mobile app can also control the LED bands of lights that are on the front of the speaker, which is appealing to some. The top of the speaker has controls for on/off, bass control, lights, Bluetooth pairing and another button which appears to be speaker linking (have not figured that out yet) Also above the power button is a battery level indicator which also comes in handy for determining the charging status. On the back panel there is a USB-C plug for charging, a USB-A plug to charge other devices and an Auxiliary line in plug. The speaker is waterproof and I have seen images of it submerged with lights on, although this is not something I would probably do.
I used this speaker over the holiday and was able to get almost 15 hours on the 75% charge that it came with it out of the box. Playing traditional holiday seasonal music demonstrated a good degree of ability to accurately reproduce sound.
Pros:
- Good sound quality with enhanced bass
- USB-C plug for charging the internal large capacity battery
- USB-A plug for charging devices
- Battery charging/level indicator
- Built in carrying handle
- Sturdy build
Cons:
- none yet.

Party Speaker that sounds good with inbuilt light

This new portable waterproof (IPX7) party speaker from Anker is a mono speaker of 50 watts that houses a 4-inch woofer, 2-inch tweeter that weights around 7.7 pounds that is very easy to carry around with the built-in integrated handle. Battery when full charged is advertised at 18 hours but was able to get around 15 hours without charging when running at the volume of 65%.
Setup is easy. Just turn on the device and connect to your Bluetooth from your mobile device for pairing. It has a cool LED ring that has light show when music is played. You can change the settings of the light effects from the soundcore app or turn off the light ring if you need to save some battery. Bass on this is good and can be customized based on the outdoor or indoor operations on the app.
On the top, there is a power button, volume up/down, Bluetooth pairing button, Bass Boost, LED lights button and battery life indicator. The handle is flexible and can be adjusted to go down when not in use. Build quality is very good. It has got a USB port at the back that comes handy if you need to charge your battery when you are outside on the beach or in park when streaming music.
This speaker is a great addition for pool party and will withstand splashes as its waterproof and rated IPX7 of one meter for shorter time. I haven’t tested and wouldn’t recommend also.
IOS app is very intuitive and has various EQ settings, color LED light options for party mode and would control everything including on/off, volume and bass. USB C charging cable is included and it does use USB C for charging that can be found at the back under a hidden flap. Also, includes audio input for manual connection.
Overall, very good portable rich sound, waterproof party speaker that costs reasonable and affordable ($99) with integrated LED ring, power bank feature and carrying handle. Also, this can be linked with other soundcore devices of up to 100 to create a loud party effect.

Wow! The first thing you notice about this speaker is the bass. It has a deep tone that you feel to your bones!
The colors sync with the music which adds to the party feel of this unit!. You can adjust the performance of the colors from the controls on top (picture)
I have only used it paired with my phone by blue tooth but according to the directions, you can plug an MP3 player right in if you want.
The only downside is that is it HEAVY! I guess that helps if you want to use it in windy conditions! lol
It is cold where I live now but I can't wait to use this by the pool in the summer. It is not only waterproof but they say you can actually submerge it in water! I am not sure I will try that.
You can control the volume from your phone (if streaming music from there) or from the unit itself. You can also skip and pause from the speaker as well.
I love the look and the sound. This will be a blast (literally) this summer!

Soundcore Rave Neo Bluetooth Speaker (by Anker) packs 50 Watts of punchy, a bit boomy, waterproof (IPX7) party sound with a switchable light show in about eight pounds for today’s price of about $130 at Best Buy.
** WHAT’S IN THE BOX **
• Speaker • USB-A to USB-C charging cable • Fold-out QuickStart guide
** WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT? **
Start with the excellent reputation Anker has garnered through many years of excellent customer reviews. 50 Watts of power, Bluetooth connectivity capable of wirelessly linking and synchronizing “100+” Soundcore PartyCast compatible speakers, customizable party fluff lights and up to 18-hours of use per charge sweeten the package. Using the optional iOS or Android app unlocks customized light shows that include a beat-driven setting and the switch to turn off the lights as well as three in-app EQ settings plus the ability to create and name users’ EQ settings. The included USB charging cable will keep it powered up. BassUp technology adds even more boom for your parties. Waterproof to the IPX7 standard means it can be dunked to a depth of one meter for up to 30 minutes and live. Under its molded sealing flap can be found a USB charging port, PowerUp port for charging phones from the internal battery and an Aux port for jacking in sound from external devices. Its Bluetooth capabilities include an on-board microphone to take calls (speakerphone). On its touch-sensitive panel can be found a Power button with pinpoint LEDs showing state-of-charge, Bass control, Lights cycling BassUp button, Volume +/-, and Primary/Secondary speaker control button.
** SET UP **
Customary of similar devices, powering on places Rave Neo into Bluetooth Pairing mode (available at any time by pressing and holding this button). Pair with a phone and start enjoying whatever audio content is on that phone. Pretty standard stuff.
** TIME TO PLAY **
Effortless use with loads of customization. Primarily targeting outdoor and party use, the bass can be very heavy without allowing mids and highs to shine. If your taste is NOT for such a party speaker, you might not be satisfied with this sound, even with the available customization.
That said, no one will be disappointed with the available loudness of which this speaker is capable. Of course, if it is played loud with the light show, don’t expect the maximum 18-hour operation on a full charge, but you knew that, right?
Though I do not have other PartyCast capable speakers, the benefits of this feature are easily seen.
I appreciated the settings in the free Soundcore App and recommend that all buyers download and use it. Why not? Volume, EQ, lights, it’s all there in the app.
Note – mobile phones have built-in music settings with provided EQ settings and customization. My recommendation is to turn off the phone’s music settings so the Soundcore app can handle this.
** IN CONCLUSION **
LOUD sound with settings to satisfy most users in a compact, quality-built party speaker. Is it audiophile? NO, but that is not what the strength of this product is, and certainly not at this reasonable price for what is delivered.
If you are looking for a fun, bold and brash party speaker capable of being synchronized with more than 100 compatible speakers, this is a very good choice.
My only wish is that it would allow much less bass and much more mid-range. That is MY taste and may not be yours.
** WARRANTY **
Anker’s standard 18-month warranty.

I was looking forward to this speaker, but found myself a little disappointed with the sound. Grant it I am a bit picky when it comes to sound quality. Too much mid tones on my opinion.
Sounds best at about 1/2 volume.
Here are my pro's and cons:
PRO:
Nice waterproof rating
Nice handle
Build quality feels good
Battery life
Fun lights
EQ (part of smart phone app)
CONS:
Sound quality just okay.
No separate power cord (must us USB cord)
I was more impressed with the smaller Flare speaker to be honest.
Of course if your intent is to play at higher volume by a pool perhaps, then this may work fine. Probably perfectly fine kids, but if you are looking for high sound quality, well..... you get what your pay for.

The Soundcore Rave Neo Bluethooth Speaker is a pretty big “portable” speaker that does not disappoint. It packs a solid 50 watt punch, with solid bass and clear mids and highs even at pretty loud volumes. It also has a cool multi-color, customizable light ring that makes it a fun centerpiece for parties. It paired with my phone very easily and it maintains the bluetooth connection throughout the house, even on different floors. There are a few buttons and status lights on the rubber covered top of the speaker, such as power, volume, bluetooth, extra bass, and 4 LED lights that signify the approximate battery level, which is a generous 18 hours of play time. You can also use the built-in battery to charge back your phone using the USB-A port.
If you want to take advantage of additional features and adjustments, you will have to install the Soundcore App, which unfortunately requires you to create an account and register with your email. I would have preferred to get full app functionality without yet another account, but that’s less than a star. The app offers 3 preset equalizer settings and also a custom mode. There is also a spin-the-bottle, truth-or-dare like game and a DJ section where you can customize the flashing lights, and also add sound effects like record scratch, 2 different drum beats, etc. It is also waterproof, but that’s one feature I have not tested yet, given there is currently snow on the ground, not pool weather...all in all this is a great all around portable speaker that can make a great addition to any indoor or outdoor party.

I really like this speaker! I can't even start this any other way. The Rave Neo is a little juggernaut. Small, yet powerful and it's not shy about being the life of the kickback. The neighbors are going to stop and look for the noise generator and then they'll comment on the neon lights and ask where you got it. It's a beast. I'm telling you. It can charge your phone with it's USB ports and there's a 3.5mm aux jack for folks that don't want to link up via Bluetooth. It says up to 18 hours of battery life, but if you're going to be bumping the tones on high, with the bass boost pumping, it's time you start being more realistic and start thinking around 8 to 9 hours. But hey, that's what that itty-bitty charging cord is for. I highly recommend bringing along a USB type C cord from your phone or something, because that little cord that comes in the box will be lost or destroyed quickly. Back to more good news. It's IP X7 rated, meaning it's fully water proof( as long as your ports are sealed.) Now here's the crazy part. I don't know if you'll ever find this many people in one area that owns one of these, but if you do, You can link up over 100 of these units together to create a massive sound. Y'all let me know if this ever happens. that would be amazing to see. The 50 watts are truly on display with this speaker and I couldn't be happier. Plus it comes equipped with it's own little carrying handle. This thing is cool. I have the Soundcore app and I recommend you download it for the EQ options. It's only $99. USD and I can't complain about that. The only problem I do have is the tiny charging cord and lack of a charging brick. This would be a great gift as it is almost fully charged right out of the box, so the party can start when the bass starts thumping and the neon lights begin to dance to the beat.

THE Rave Neo speaker is just EVERYTHING. There's really no setup other than pairing it with the Bluetooth on my phone or tablet, and thankful to say there have been virtually no connectivity issues at all.
All of my customizations are in the Rave Neo app and I feel like a DJ with this thing! You can add effects to the music, change the color scheme of the speaker, and customize it for use both indoors and outdoors. It has a durable handle for its mobility, it's not too heavy but a sturdy weight. The sound though is absolutely FLAWLESS and it is felt all throughout my home when on...it is very comparable to even my soundbar system. This is an absolute win and I would VERY HIGHLY recommend.

One of the best speakers I’ve bought! It sounds great and it can get loud. The color changing app for your phone is so cool. You can customize the color and change the way it responds to the musics in The DJ mode. It’s 100% waterproof feature is good for your pool parties so you don’t have to worry about it getting wet for the pool or rain. The only I wished that come with is was a charging brick.

Wow, I wasn't expecting it to be this loud. The bass optional button is great because if I am trying to save battery I will not use it but if I'm feeling generous I can put the bass on. I used it at a park and everyone was staring because on full volume it was really loud.

I buy a lot of things from Best Buy and this is my first time posting a review and thats because this speaker is the freaking bomb. Especially for $99, its literally the best speaker on the market at the price. I owned a lot of BT speakers, but this one blows away the $300 Mega booms, JBL Charger and other speakers like it AND IT WAS ONLY $99 BUCKS!!!
I own other big portable speakers like the Aiwa Exos-9 and the PartyBox100 that cost more and are much louder, but this lil'thang hits and its perfect to carry around to chill at the work or for working out outside your house, which is why I bought this.
Straight up, if ur looking for a speaker at this cheap of a price range, don't hesitate, buy this one and thank me later. And if you don't like it, return it. But guaranteed you keeping it once you hear how goood it sounds.
