I love living in this century. Can't even start to imagine what the future will bring or what else is coming from "A galaxy far, far away". This app enabled R2-D2 does exactly what you expect and is a lot of fun. Sphero has done a great job with this unit. Just the fact that the sounds come off the unit and not the phone is a major plus. Trust me, you are going to have a lot of fun with this toy.

If you are anything like me, having an R2D2 Enabled Droid is a must have especially if you are a StarWars fan! This little guy does everything that is advertised and more. You can find additional hidden tricks which is not discussed (check YouTube)! The whimsical sounds and movements brings hours of pure entertainment for the old & young. Combine the two droids R2D2 w/BB8 together & they interact nicely, both behaving differently— so cool! Good job Sphero!! 5+ Stars

If you have downloded the Shero R2D2 app youll get all the star wars interactive programs which is great. Also if you download the SpheroEDU app you are able to re-program and write command java scripts on its own and share your javascripts to sphero EDU community, you can reprogram R2D2 to talks his Movements and create sounds combined all programs. Fantastic App. This is just not a toy. Your kids will learn how to reprogram this robot functions using the spheroEDU app!

Controlling R2-D2 is fun even for a 38 year geek. Children will love figuring out how to control with either the force band or a phone app. And R2 looks great next to BB-8.

I found flaws in the product paint job and reported to their customer service with photographs. Sphero said they couldn’t find any issues with the product until I brought it back to Best Buy and get a side-by-side comparison view. On such an expensive product these type of production quality issues and poor customer service from Sphero should not happen. Best Buy exchange product for me without any issues. I am also upset I had to spend so much time with the Sphero customer service to explain such an obvious issue.

This droid is fun and enjoyable. I recommend it for star wars fans, especially of the older movies. It provides many sounds and movements of the R2D2 in the movies. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been if it could do projections of Princess Leia's hologram. It does not glide the best on carpet due to its shape and the traction, though it did do well on the carpet at my employment because it was compacted carpet. I found that on the regular thick carpet, it would often fall over. All and all, I would say this is a great droid if not only for the fact of collectors of memorabilia that are fans of R2D2, though it can be fun to play with as well.

This Droid is very neat. I grew up loving the original Star Wars Trilogy, and this Droid brings great memories. It can make several movements and sounds of the original R2D2. It is best to use on a flat surface due to struggling with getting stuck on carpet.

As a long time fan of Star Wars, I just couldn’t resist purchasing this incredibly realistic R2D2. It has all of the lights, sounds and movements of the R2D2 that you see in the movie. A great gift for any Star Wars fan.

If you’re a Star Wars fan you need this in your life! He makes all the sounds that you know and love. Once the app is updated you’ll have a smile on your face watching R2 run around your home

I have all the Star Wars Sphero droids, but R2-D2 is by far the best. Sphero did a great job of building in all of R2's signature personality into the app. There are a bunch of sounds and movements available to play with and R2 responds very well to remote control. Lots of fun, as long as you have solid floors to run him on. He will not roll at all on carpet.

I bought the BB-8 when it first came out and enjoyed it for a while but lost interest after a while. Walmart had an app remote controlled R2 on clearance so I purchased that and has less fun with it. The controls weren’t that great. When this came out, I was interested but didn’t want to spend full retail price on it knowing that BB-8 didn’t hold my interest and the Walmart R2 was below par. I was able to pick this up at a very low price and with gift cards I received as a gift, it cost me next to nothing. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. The controls are very responsive. Much better than the rolling ball that is BB-8 and a thousand times better than that other R2. My dog also loves barking at it and chasing it around. It was well worth getting.

It's cute, love the sounds but it isn't a toy you want unless you like having ..to reset it every 5min. So it does the sounds ..and responses of R2, ..but eens up putting it on its back, ..but will not put itself or control it to restand up. Wont run on any carpet. Really disappointed, wd looking forward to some fun.

This was a gift for my nephew and he absolutely loved it. Just like his uncle he is a huge Star Wars fan! I got a great deal on it along with a free wrist band controller. Is definitely a great gift and collectible for any Star Wars fan.

I have the Sphero BB-8 as well and this R2 is much easier to control. The other benefit is that while the sounds for BB-8 only come through the phone/app, R2 actually makes the sounds in the droid itself.

We have several Sphero toys and we love them. They're not really hobby level robots but they are great bordom beaters and can be very fun and entertaining! Sphero really did a great job with R2-D2 as his overall fit/finish is excellent, and his sounds are accurate to the film's. Play time is about an hour or so on about a 2 hour charge. The app is great as all the Sphero Star Wars droids are integrated into one app. Well done Sphero!!

R2-D2 is great. he's a bit more fun than BB-8 because he has a built in speaker and is easier to drive. He can't roll as crazy fast as BB-8, but why would he? Another cool thing is you can turn his head separate to driving him; he really looks like he's going around looking around at things. He has built in animations and sounds to do the kinds of things R2 is known for doing. To turn R2 on you have to plug him into the USB cable. That took a while to figure out. Whether you're a padawan, need some thermo-couplers repaired, or are just a droid collector, you'll really like this R2 unit!

This little guy is cool. I am a huge fan of remote control, and I am also a Star Wars fan, so this seemed like a must have (or really must want). I wasn't expecting too much, however, this little guy is really a fun RC device. It is fully controllable from a smartphone. You can program it, or just steer it around. I am still learning all of the different features, but I'm having fun while learning. If you are an R/C fan and a Star Wars fan, I recommend this product. Just don't start off with him on a tall table, he really moves! :)

Super exciting toy. Very realistic. Only con is that he is a little on the small side. Still very entertaining.

R2D2 is a lot of fun! The sounds he makes and the actions alone while just standing there is so neat. I do wish that it would traverse over uneven surfaces (wood floor to carpet).
