Picking up two months after the events of Captain America: Civil War, we follow Peter Parker (Tom Holland) as he navigates the horrors of high-school life while simultaneously working to keep his Queens neighborhood safe. He's trying to impress Tony Stark and become a full-time Avenger, though he's in a little over his head in that department. When the Vulture (Michael Keaton) threatens to safety of the streets of Queens, Peter has to work to stop him before he loses the people he cares about. Other cast members include Robert Downey Jr., Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Laura Harrier, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jon Favreau, Jennifer Connelly, and cameos by Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Evans.
Tobey Maguire will always hold a special place in my heart, and Andrew Garfield was pretty good too, but Tom Holland absolutely nails the Spider-Man character. I brought up in my Ant-Man review that Scott Lang is an everyman, and that extends to Peter Parker as well. Sure, he has genius-level intellect, but he's also a bright-eyed kid who sees people like the Avengers as big-time celebrities. That's one of the most welcome things about this movie; it offers a look at the more normal side of the MCU, and we see the viewpoints of ordinary people when it comes to all the crazy happenings in the franchise.
It also helps that we don't get another origin story this time around. That's been done twice now, so most people are already familiar with how Peter gets his powers and why he's driven to help people. This version of Peter has been Spider-Man for quite some time now, and he's trying to fix stuff and help people out. This movie also offers a fresh look at the "friendly neighborhood" side of Spider-Man's crime-fighting career. We see Spidey engaging in conversation with passersby, helping out old ladies, and perfecting his web-slinging technique. It offers a more realistic look at everyday crime-fighting than what we've seen thus far in the MCU.
So Spider-Man is great, but the Vulture is no slouch either. Toomes is another unique villain in the MCU in that he's not interested in taking over the globe or gaining an Infinity Stone or anything like that. He's simply trying to stay a small-time crook and not incur the wrath of people like Iron Man. All things considered, Toomes is a fairly decent guy who's fallen on financial strife, and it's nice to have a hero-villain conflict that hits closer to home. And it doesn't hurt that the conflict leads to one of the biggest reveals of the movie. Plus his updated costume is way better-looking than the comics, but still honors the "Vulture" nature of that character.
The supporting cast is given its chance to shine as well. Jacob Batalon's Ned is a hilarious friend/sidekick to Peter, and gets several of the best lines in the movie. Marisa Tomei is also excellent as the MCU's Aunt May. It doesn't bother me that she's younger than the other Aunt Mays, and there's something more relatable about this particular relationship. Zendaya's Michelle/M.J. is also an interesting character to watch, even in the background. Apparently people were upset about her character being the wrong ethnicity as the comics character, but again, acting ability is more important than physical appearance. Jennifer Connelly is the voice of Karen, Peter's suit A.I., and I enjoyed their dynamic as well. Paltrow and Evans's brief cameos are enjoyable too, and serve as welcome ties to the larger MCU.

Please excuse this long and unnecessary post but,
In case you were as skeptical, and irritated, by yet another freakin’ Spider Man movie as I was, I just want to take this time and talk about how dope this movie was. This is probably the most progressively annoying and entertaining movie that I have ever seen.
I don't know how Marvel managed to erase 3 bad Spider Man movies, (Amazing Spider-Man 1&2...and SM3 if you count Tobey's 3rd one as being bad. I do.) AND get you over the fact that there wasn't a 4th of the original, but Marvel did it! The villain was cool, and it wasn't the dang Green Goblin again. There wasn't a horrendous Uncle Ben dying scene like there was in The Amazing Spider Man, and this Spider is by far the best at what he will be able to do (thanks to Tony Stark). Speaking of Iron Man, he is hands down the only reason why I went to go see this movie since that's my favorite super hero, but I was pleasantly surprised by the entire production.
The movie was almost perfect and it even adds some nostalgic moments towards the end. And at this point, D.C. should just GIVE UP, because I don't know how you let a Spider Man movie be better than your biggest film, (Batman vs. Superman) of your 2 main characters, (with over double the budget might I add) and be better than your Wonder Woman film. DC is just sad, and someone at the top needs to be fired immediately. Marvel on the other hand, deserves a Noble Peace Prize or something, because they are making the world a better place. All of their movies after the first Captain American have been nothing short of great

I held off on watching this film, didn't see it in the theater, largely because I was burned-out on Spider-Man. Anyway, long story short I can't believe how much I enjoyed Homecoming. Total breath of fresh air both for Spider-Man and frankly for Marvel Studios as well. This is arguably the best film within the Marvel Cinematic universe since the halcyon days of 2014 (Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy). Homecoming is fun, it's funny, the tone and feel are just right. Tom Holland is terrific and Michael Keaton superb. No retelling of the origin story *or* parade of usual suspects in the supporting roles, outside Aunt May and a couple of Peter's classmates. A great combination of high school, superhero and comedy with a real sense of stakes and

Ladies and Gents, we have a new Spider-Man and he's better than ever! Tom Holland steps into the suit and gives, in my opinion, the best live action Spider-Man to date. He is great as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, something I feel the previous actors didn't quite nail down. Toby Maguire was a great Peter Parker, but just so-so as Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield was an excellent Spider-Man, but I didn't dig his Peter Parker as much. Homecoming also is just an al around great and fun movie. Michael Keaton as Vulture gives us one of the better Spider-Man villains we have seen to date. The supporting cast is great as well. Also, the inclusion of Robert Downey Jr.s Iron Man is a cool addition, but one this viewer felt was kind of shoehorned in. I believe the studio was wary of yet another Spider-Man reboot and felt the need to add another 'big" name to the movie to draw in people. Thats just my thinking though, I don't know if thats true or not. I would have seen this regardless of Iron Man being in it or not. Overall its a great movie and tons of fun. If you are a Spider-Man fan, I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy this.

What a great addition to the MCU! While many reviews may touch on the growing relationship between Spider-Man & Iron Man, it's worth mentioning that Michael Keaton's Vulture is another great performance from this actor.
An essential movie for MCU collectors, this version has the added 4K disc (for higher-resolution viewing with the required 4K Blu-ray players available now) & Digital Copy, which allows the disc-owner to watch it across multiple platforms, Like Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, & YouTube TV, so when you're not in front of your TV or don't have the disc, you can still watch the movie through your phone's mobile data connection or a shared Wi-Fi connection, if you're traveling.

The movie is fun, but you already knew that. So, instead, I'm reviewing this bundle.
I have a 3D projector, and watching this movie on it is an absolute delight. But sometimes it's fun to spontaneously throw a movie up on a mobile device or Chromecast - less effort, no glasses... quick fun. With the digital copy included, that's easy. So I love this package.
Seems that all the marvel titles they sell these days force you to choose between 3D blu-ray or digital copy. You can't get both anymore, and that's too bad. Still, any time i can expand my collection with 3D and digital, I'll do it. I hope Best Buy starts getting more of these sorts of bundles on stock again.

I thought this product was really great to have and if your a fan of Spider-Man like me you should buy this movie you won’t be disappointed and you won’t regret it. I love all the Spider-Man films in general even the classics in general but I will say this is one of the most legit interpretations of Spider-Man I’ve ever seen and not to mention one of the best films I’ve ever seen. I recommend for anybody to watch it if you haven’t seen it already and this movie is really fun to watch and it has some good laughs but it also has a lot of action which I liked and enjoyed watching a lot. This is one the best and one of the most entertaining films I’ve ever seen.

A great addition to the Spider-Man films. This was also a great re-introduction as we all know the story and there was no need to rehash what we all already know. Good twists and it was nice to see RDJ in this as well. Glad to see that Disney doesn't have much say with these and Sony gets to make them as they want.

Part one for the product: The BD version is very sharp, sound quality is good. It is very shiny and pleasant to look at.
The movie is OK. The plot is extremely derivative of the first Tobey Maguire movie, especially the moment when the hero and villain realize they know each other, and the fact that the bad guy wears a mask and rides a flying machine.
As a stand-alone movie, it was still somewhat disappointing, as it feels more like an Iron Man spin-off than its own Spider-man film (even with Stark designing the suit, which I think is disgraceful). I will say that Tom Hardy makes a very good Spider-man and a decent Peter Parker. He does banter with villains better than Tobey, maybe even Mr. Garfield. I hope future films find their groove, and we don't need a 4th iteration of this hero.

This is it. The Spider-man movie you have been waiting for since Toby Mac 1st put on the suite. Not another origin story. Nope! This kid has fresh legs. It moves past all that and gives you meat & candy baby. It's fun and funny. And it kept me engaged in the story. I liked how this was done. I'm not going to spoil the movie for anyone. I actually waited for the Bluray before seeing any of the trailers for this ( believe it or not) Believe it. And it was worth the wait. If you are kind of a comic book fan or just a fan of ol' web head, you need to be clicking on the add to cart button. This is a must see. Don't forget the popcorn and drinks.
Enjoy.

My favorite version of Spider-Man movies. Tom Holland shines. This particular movie features RDJ, too! Great humor, great action. A delightful spin on some of the classic components to Spider-Man. Only caveat is that it drops you into Spidey's world AFTER he is established as Spider-Man; they skipped the origin story for this version, which was a little confusing/disorienting at first. No complaints about the decision, but I initially wondered if I had skipped a movie.

After we got our 4k OLED tv we started noticing that not all 4k movies are created equal. If you are looking for True 4k, search true 4k vs real 4k. There's a list and it is spot on. I found the list after watching this and thinking that it didn't seem as crisp and detailed as the 4k Star Wars movie we watched. Sure enough, it's not True 4k. it's upscaled. Which is STILL AMAZING!!! But not as good as True 4k. So while it won't be as amazing as it was in the theaters, it's still a really AMAZING Spiderman movie and worth the upscaled 4k. (See what I did there.)

............at my local Best Buy recently and didn't know they had it in a Steelbook case. I have all of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies and the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies and needed the newest Tom Holland Spider-Man movie to add to my collection. Though the Tom Holland version isn't my favorite incarnation, its a solid movie with great visual effects. If you haven't seen this movie, I definitely recommend getting the Steelbook version. Cool case, both the Blu-Ray and DVD versions and complete with the Digital version.

Very few actors portray a role so beautifully it beats all their predecessors or cements themselves as the opitomy of who that character is. Mark Hamill did it for The Joker, Hugh Jackman did it for Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds did it for Dead pool, and Tom Holland is doing it for Spiderman.....
Also, the movie is kickass, good character building without having to reference uncle Ben and "great power=great responsibility" being shoved in our faces every 15 min.

I had not yet purchased Spider-Man: Homecoming but the artwork on this SteelBook grabbed my eye and so, I bought it.
The artwork on the SteelBook is fantastic! Really eye catching and, for this reason alone, would make a GREAT gift to a Spider-Man collector.
The Bluray itself is pretty standard for what you would expect from a Bluray these days!
The movie itself is the best Spider-Man movie to date and, in general, is just a really fun movie to watch!

I saw the movie in theaters- not the best Spider-Man, but better than the last two. I think it looks better in 4K on my 4K TV than it did in theaters. I already owned this in 4K digital and just wanted the disc (Comcast is only fast internet provider in my area and now that they're rationing bandwidth and charging extra for going over I have to watch it on my 4K streaming- hence my return to purchasing physical discs). Got it cheap on Black Friday. Good buy.
