Splatoon 3 takes everything from the first 2 titles and refines them into an absolute great gameplay experience. The gameplay is as fun as ever, the story mode has been fleshed out, and 2 years of update support are in the way, this is a game that will not run thin of content anytime soon

Splatoon 3 is a fun game that you can pick up and put down whenever. It's performance and graphics are improved from Splatoon 2 and comes with a much longer single player campaign that really impressed me. There is also a much more in-depth multiplayer that remains very addicting.

Overall Splatoon 3 is a really fun game that many will enjoy but it doesn't do enough to improve. The game plays exactly the same as the previous game and includes many of the same maps and game modes. They did however add 2 new weapon types, a new mode called tableturf, made the announcement optional, and 24 hour salmon run.
These are some welcome changes but tableturf is a card game that is it's own thing. Tableturf is fun to play and I think many will enjoy it but it I can see it being avoided by most players. It plays sort of like tetris and that you are placing blocks except you can place them anywhere on the board. The objective is to have more of you blocks taking over the "turf" at the end of the match. It's a fun side distraction, but most will gravitate towards the lobby.
The campaign feels like the Octo expansion and is enjoyable but these feel more like little side missions than anything else. There is no real story here and it serves more as aguide to get you acustomed to how to play Splatoon. It would have been nice if Spaltoon 3 allowed you to change weapons mid map or at least while in the lobby, but oonce you select you loadout, there is no way to change it unless you quit the lobby and re-enter. Unfortunate that this is still the case.
Many can argue that there was no need for this release since everthing it included could have simply been updated as there isn't enough content here to justify a sequel. I have to agree with this statement. All in all, this is a very good game and if you enjoyed Splatoon 2 then you'll enjoy this one as well.

I loved Splatoon 2 and this one is a good follow up. Just like 2 but with some great additions in weapons. I was happy to be able to transfer status from 2. Fun n exciting game.

takes about everything i liked from splatoon 2, refines it, and makes subtle but substantial changes to make this the most fun i've ever spent playing splatoon
with a much improved offline story mode, it's a pretty great game all around

Mostly fun and polished. Yes, it has many similarities to Splatoon 2, but with many quality of life improvements, and updates still to come. At the time of release, there are some clear issues with connectivity to iron out. It can also be frustrating at times going up against players who are suspiciously good, especially since Nintendo has made it needlessly difficulty to report them.

Having played Splatoon 2 after a friend recommended it to me a little over a year ago, I was pretty familiar with the gameplay and style of Splatoon.
This game is a well-rounded follow-up to 2, bringing additional abilities, new weapons, and great improvements to gameplay and general feel of the game. There are still plenty of hiccups when it comes to the online battle modes, resulting in fairly frequently disconnects or moments of lag.
The music is fun and energetic, stages are familiar with some upgrades and new additions, and art style is incredibly vibrant and quirky. As someone who doesn't really enjoy FPS-style games, this one definitely has me hooked!
Overall, the refined gameplay mechanics make it a great update to the already popular series and will be fun to pick up and play for months to come.

I played Splatoon 2 on the Switch and had a lot of fun with that game, and Splatoon 3 adds to that. I really like how the game implements motion controls in combat. My issue with this game comes from the online. The game tends to disconnect frequently, so I spend a bunch of time in the lobby trying to get into a match. When it works well, it's fine, but I found the problem to happen way too often. I haven't played since the first month or so after the game's launch, so I'm not sure if that problem has been resolved, but I haven't heard otherwise. With that being said, you should consider getting it if you like Splatoon 2, and people who may have not played a Splatoon game before would like it just the same.

I have never been interested in a Splatoon game until this version. Fun multiplayer and an in-depth single player experience with great challenges. Great soundtrack and visuals.

The past few Nintendo games with free updates, have not been the best, but this one is pretty solid out of the box. It has all the modes (minus the DLC), a ton of weapons, and more clothing I still haven’t unlocked.
