My wife and I had a great time playing this together. It lasts a while if you play 1 or 2 chapters at a time.

Five Stars: Arcade Racing With Explosive Style

Split/Second on PlayStation 5 brings back the kind of high energy arcade racing that is all about speed, spectacle, and pure fun. It is not trying to be a simulation. It is a fast, chaotic, visually intense racer built around big moments and constant action. What Stands Out - Fast paced racing with a strong arcade feel - Tracks that change dynamically as explosions reshape the course - Smooth performance on PS5 with quick load times - Satisfying sense of speed and impact - Easy to pick up and play, even for casual racers Gameplay Experience The core hook of Split/Second still works extremely well. Triggering explosions, collapsing buildings, and shifting track layouts mid race keeps every lap unpredictable. The PS5 hardware helps the game feel more fluid, and the visual effects hold up surprisingly well. It is the kind of racer where you can jump in for a few rounds and immediately have fun. What Could Be Improved - No major new content compared to earlier versions - Single player is enjoyable but can feel repetitive over long sessions - Some players may prefer more traditional racing mechanics Final Thoughts Split/Second remains a stylish, explosive arcade racer that delivers exactly what it promises: fast action, dramatic track changes, and a constant rush of adrenaline. It is a great pick for players who want something simple, exciting, and visually over the top. A strong addition to any PS5 library if you enjoy arcade style racing.

I have yet to play the developers other games, but hearing the hype I decided to take the plunge and buy it to try with my online friend. It’s blown both of us away and is very fun. Both in gameplay elements and the little “for nothing” things you can do in the level. Let’s just say these two 40 year olds sound like teens chuckling and saying things like “dude look I’m carrying a giant ball lol”. The visuals are also very cool. The negatives I could point out, though they are nothing compared to the positives, is lack of voice chat, lack of “pointing/pinging at something, and a caution that it’s current gen only. Sorry PS4…. “PlayStation network party chat” being down twice now has caused us to be almost unable to progress at all as some areas require talk amongst the players. Having a way to point out things or ping them could help a little. It could be advertised a little better that it is unplayable on older systems like PS4 etc. The party pass description makes it sound like it’s able to be played on all consoles. Only deep dive looking it up you barely come across the small print that it’s not. Long story short though, if you have local friends or online PS5 friends, this is an amazing game to play and explore together. Surely it will be nominated for Game of the Year.

I bought Split Fiction to play with the wife. We really enjoyed It Takes Two, we when SF was announced we instantly knew we were going to buy it. I buy most of my games and all of my consoles from amazon. They always delivery pristine products with decent delivery times. Split fiction was one of the best games from 2025, which is a huge compliment considering how stacked this year has been! The graphics, performance, story, and especially the gameplay were all amazing! I highly recommend it!!

Even if you have to pay retail, just get it, as long as you have someone to play it with, and while you are at it, get the other two games from the same studio; but, don't pay full price for those. It's like art, just beautiful scenery, graphics, simple controls, great story line, memorable characters, and just a joy to play. HOWEVER, there is one draw back that I do HATE, which is almost another compliment to them, and while the main game it almost the perfect length there is really very little re-playability, because once you cycle through as each of the two characters, there isn't a whole lot of anything left to explore :(

Fabulous multiplayer game! The best part about Split Fiction is that only one player needs to get the game, and another friend can join in using an invitation. I beat the game with a friend playing online, and it was one of the best gaming experiences we had this year. The gameplay is fun, with new elements across each level which switches things up consistently and keeps everything fresh. The final boss segment was mindblowing! I'd highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an amazing co-op experience.

This was an automatic buy for our family and it did not disappoint. Gameplay is great, graphics are fantastic and story is awesome. Bonus: no glitches or issues, just hich is so freaking rare these days. We played It Takes Two, then A Way Out, so this is our third game experience from this studio. It won’t be the last. We’ll be buying any game this studio puts out in the future.

Super creative concept and beautiful execution. This is great for hours of local co-op fun. I would not recommend this game for younger kids since there are difficult sequences and you have to get a long well with your playing partner. There is also swearing (by the characters...and somethimes players) throughout the game.

I bought this so my daughter and I could have some fun together! They don’t make enough 2 player games any more. We beat the other game from This studio so I figured it would be worth the money. It definitely is. Her and I really enjoyed playing this. Good story. Good graphics. Pretty easy learning curve.

Split Fiction is a great game. I’ve been playing it with my wife, and we’ve had a lot of fun. The levels are creative, the gameplay stays varied, and the boss fights are a real highlight. It’s also really nice that you only need one copy to play together. If you’re looking for a co-op game, this one’s an easy recommendation.

A complete blast of a video game. Perfect to play with a friend or your children. The amount of imagination and different situations, is just insane. The graphics are great, with a beautiful story and a perfect gameplay. You can play with a person next to you or give a “friend code” to a friend to play with you.

I enjoyed playing "A Way Out" and am a huge fan of "It Takes Two" so, needless to say, Split Fiction was a day one purchase for me and I was not disappointed. This game is simply incredible. The graphics are very polished and immersive, at times it feels like you want to physically dodge your head as you react to whats going on in the game. The story is a little bland and I find myself not really too invested in that but, where the game truly shines, is the game play. It takes collaboration and planning with the second player to get anywhere in this game and that truly makes its unique and fun! Keep in mind that this is a two player game and there isn't a one player campaign mode. I've been playing with friends and family but you can also join the Hazelight discord to find random people to play with.

This game is AWESOME! It is from the same makers of the hit game, IT TAKES 2. It is a 2-player only game, so you cannot play this game solo. You can play with someone locally on the couch, or you can play online with someone. There is even a feature called Friend's Pass, where if the other person doesn't have the game, they can download the game as a game share by EA. You go through a pretty awesome story with the two characters, solving these puzzles to get through the game. If you're a mystery or puzzle lover, this is a MUST.
