Gorgeous game with a poor story and lacking characters. This game could'be been so much better compared to older Star Ocean games. A huge missed opportunity.

The game plays great with its action combos and overall greay graphics. I'm halfway through the main story and have enjoyer every minute!

This is a game worth getting if you can get it half off retail. It is a noteworthy rpg with characters that are joyful and fun.

I have played all the Star Oceans, and while this isn't the best, it's nice to have a new JRPG that isn't Final Fantasy. Fun combat, great graphics, prepare to sink a lot of time into this one!

Just like the old star oceans. This get really brought me back to RPG's and I love playing them again when for a time I didn't.

good gameplay, ok story, but graphics are definitely not current Gen level and dialogue, voice acting, and overall feel of the game is lackluster.

Most games by Square are at least worth playing. The star ocean series has a little different feel, but still a fun RPG.

If you play the previous ones, this is a must play. If you never play any star ocean at all, this is the best so far.

This is one of the best RPGs I have every played. Getting it on sale was a bonus and the game is definitely worth it.

This game is a great addition to the Star Ocean series. It brings back some elements of the earlier series that is nice. It takes a different perspective, which is interesting.

This is bar far the shortest jrpg I've ever played. Max 20 hour story line, dull story, and characters. This is a disappointing title.

Star Ocean 5 could have been a great title for the PS4 but got stuck with low production value and lack of polish. The fonts are super small, the battles are unbalance (bosses are hard yet regular encounters are a breeze), the sequences cannot be skipped (especially before trying to fight the same boss again when you lost), and the night/day cycle is terrible when you can see what you are fighting. I wish they spent another 9 months on the title to resolve these issues. Only the hardcore need apply.

Great game, if you like RPGs you should check this one out, I got it at a great price, so I can't complain.

Had a lot of fun with this game. It's very much an old style JRPG, but that's not a bad thing. Big cast of characters. If you liked Star Ocean games in the past, pick it up.
