A satisfying conclusion to the SC2 trilogy.

If you've played the first two campaigns for StarCraft II, there's probably little reason to even read a review since you're likely already getting this game, anyway. That said, Legacy of the Void does not disappoint. It effectively wraps up the storyline from the first two games while also allowing for the creation of side and spinoff stories (such as Nova's covert ops). Once you've finished the main story, be sure to also check out the 2-v-AI cooperative mode. It's a two-player team mode where you work together to complete missions from the campaigns.

Love the update with story continuation Legacy of the Void. Gameplay is still similar, so you aren't starting from scratch if you played the previous versions. Just a few tweaks and new units and bringing back some oldies.

As a previous owner of the previous two starcrafts I had high expectations as I couldn't wait to try out the campaign. I don't play ladder that much in the game, It's really not my thing. I was able to reach diamond league for one season during HOTS but didn't really care (the seasons reset every single month). Now onto the campaign itself. It's really fun and immersive (as to be expected). I also wasn't fond of the different choice of units you could choose because it's blatantly obvious which one of the 3 was the best to choose. The Co-Op campaigns are really easy; you could actually solo them on hard-easy. On brutal though it actually requires the help of your buddy to kick butt and do the bonus objectives as well. If anyone is struggling on the campaign or to do achievements then mass void rays. The campaign gives you access to the PRE-NERFED void rays + they get a new passive range buff as well. I'd give it 5 stars if my game didn't randomly crash on me from time to time. No other blizzard game crashes on me and I haven't crashed once in HOTS or WOL so it's probably a thing they have to patch up. I wouldn't say it's worth $40 as you're mainly buying it for the single player campaign but it's definitely worth it if it goes on a sale.

    Amazing final chapter

The final chapter of the Starcraft 2 story complete with all your favorite heroes. The story campaign is engaging and challenging, offering some cool new maps with new mechanics. Some of the cutscene textures are quite dated for 2015 and it's a shame Blizzard didn't include high res textures for high end computers, however gameplay is still beautiful. The Protoss lack some of the humor of the Terran and Zerg campaigns with their serious nature. As a main Zerg player in HotS, I had a little trouble adapting to Protoss, but had the hang of it by the end of the prologue. Make sure you play all 3 parts to the campaign or you're missing the entire story. Co-op mode is a ton of fun with friends. The map selection becomes a bit repetitive after a while, but Blizzard had already added one new map so hopefully a few more will follow. Playing with random people is a mixed bag but wait times were short. Archon mode and new multiplayer units along with changed mechanics will hopefully bring some more life to the community. As of the last patch that I'm aware of, macro mechanics have been more streamlined, but units have more micro managing options. In theory this should lead to more engaging battles, but I'm not sure if it will negatively affect slower players. I haven't tried ladder yet so the jury is still out. All in all a must have for any Starcraft fan, though it remains to be seen if it will enjoy the long life that Broodwar did.

Great campaign to finish series off! Blizzard's pulled out on the stops for high CG cutscenes and lots of special units in campaign mode. Multiplayer is also a blast with co-op missions, tournaments, and typical multiplayer games. Oh, and delivery came in perfect condition, got the pretty box safe and sound.

Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void is the conclusion we have all been waiting for. The campaign and included Epilogue bring the current arch that has spanned two decades to a very satisfying close. The multiplayer is what you would come to expect from Starcraft. Love it!!"

Gameplay adds to the fantastic set already created in Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm. Finishes out the story very nicely will continue to enjoy this set of titles for years to come. A must mave for any Sci-Fi and RTS fans

This game didn't much GOTY buzz; however, you'd be remiss to overlook this final title in the StarCraft series. Blizzard delivers in terms of story and gameplay.

Legacy of the Void builds upon the prior installments (main game plus Heart of the Swarm expansion) to take the story to a pleasing finale. If you enjoy Real Time Strategy games, I highly recommend this game! One important thing to note: this "expansion," while completing the story, is completely stand-alone in that you do not need the previous games to play. There is a useful "Previously on..." video that catches you up to the story!

Single-player campaign was fun and brought closure to the series. Multi-player is enjoyable. Took off one star because game box came dented upon delivery. Otherwise a great buy!

I've been a fan of StarCraft since the first release, and I was ready to dive in to the conclusion to the trilogy. This final part of the story did not disappoint. The game was classic Blizzard with excellent cut scenes and story telling. It can be difficult enough for even veteran players, yet novices can get caught up in the action as well and will not feel lost.

This game is a worthy final chapter to an incredible story. The gameplay has always been top notch in this series and this game is no different. If you haven't played any of the StarCraft 2 games I recommend playing the first two before picking this up so you don't miss out on the overarching story. Great game and great story.

I didn't have to read anything about this game before I purchased it, I knew it was a no brainer. Blizzard always makes excellent games and they thoroughly beta test them before the customer gets their game that way you no there's not going to be any problems with it what-so-ever.

The final chapter in the Starcraft 2 saga--well, aside from all the greed-mongering DLC they decided to add. It's been worth the wait. Classic units and new, updated units mold well together. Worth the purchase if you've played Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm.

StarCraft pretty much speaks for itself. If you like real-time strategy games, then you should own this game. Blizzard is one of the few companies who still puts out and believes in "Expansions" to games. Their model may be strange to todays generations who are growing up on smaller DLC packs instead of full blown expansions, but Blizzard games have always been worth the full expansion price to me. They also continue to support their games regularly with free patches -- some of which even add new game features themselves. Blizzard is great gaming company and at the helm of it is 3 titles that made them famous: WarCraft, StarCraft, and Diablo. Each of them are worth a pickup, and should be in your collection if you are even a partial fan. I myself am not a fan of some of their titles (Word of Warcraft for example), but I do give it the respect that it deserves in the gaming industry.
