I bought a Starlink terminal back in November hoping for high-speed satellite internet in Jamaica. The hardware is sleek, the dish is easy to set up, and the tech behind it is impressive. When it works elsewhere, it’s fantastic. …but here’s the problem: no plans have been available in Jamaica since I bought it. Even with recent satellite launches, the system remains inaccessible, and nearby islands have open slots while Jamaica is still locked. After months of waiting, it feels like having a shiny gadget that does nothing. Customer support can’t override network capacity, and the waitlist offers no clear timeline. For now, the dish just sits there, unused, waiting for Starlink to free up space. ✅ Pros: • Sleek hardware, easy setup • Cutting-edge satellite technology ❌ Cons: • Still unusable in Jamaica after months • No ETA for new activations • Extremely limited availability Bottom line: Starlink is an amazing concept and works where available, but in Jamaica, it’s currently more of a promise than a service. If you buy now, be prepared to wait indefinitely.

Works great. I set it up about 10 ft from my house. Gigs go fast so it’s a backup and adventure piece. Not used full time.

My wife and I are snowbirds and were frustrated in sketchy campground WiFi and cellular “hot spot” added charges and restrictions. We purchased the Starlink Mini about three weeks ago. So far, everything has functioned very well and with the built-in router and the flexible monthly service plans and the ability to suspend service when not needed is perfect for us. If only we had a clear view of the sky at our home we would consider cancelling wire line internet service there as well. Also, multiple antenna mounting options including pole, ladder and vehicle roof mounts make it very flexible. We would recommend this product and service

Great product. Monthly pricing for roam was cheap. Works for traveling where there is no signal. I recommend the mini, its slim and doesn't take up alot of space.

The StarLink Mini is absolutely amazing. I’m able to run it off my Anker Battery since it’s capable of providing enough wattage. Camping trips and trips to countries that lack coverage, the starlink mini makes it so easy to be connected. It’s literally plug and play. The $50 roam plan is also more than enough
