SteelSeries has long been a well-known brand of gaming accessories. While not one of my 'go-to' favorites, I do appreciate the build quality, and overall performance of their products.
The first thing that struck me was how stunning this Alias microphone is. It just looks fancy. Professional. Well-made. And would make for a fine addition to any gamers desk setup.
Covering the mic is a soft fabric material. It's really nice. The stand is solid, sturdy, and there's even an included boom arm adapter if you want to go that route. The microphone and headset gain nobs are easily accessible, and on the back side of the mic is a 3.5mm headphone jack. But what I totally love, is the mute button being right there on the front side, and when you gently touch it, a big red X appears. No mistaking that!
You'll need to download and install the SteelSeries Sonar software on your gaming PC. All your customizable controls are there.
Streamer Mode allows you to route your audio to your chosen streaming software, be it OBS, StreamLabs, or TwitchStudio.
There's the option to configure equalizer 'mixer' levels yourself, or choose to use one of the many offered presets under the Game Chat Media Mic tabs. A particularly cool feature is the default configurations available for an array of popular games. (Several of my fave games were there.) Of course, you can always "tweak" these settings to your liking, as well.
And then there's the fun RGB lighting. I love RGB gaming accessories! In the software under Prism you can find presets for lighting and effects, or once again, personalize these yourself. It's super cool to have that colorful glow light up my desk setup. Especially in a darkened room.
I've never really liked the sound of my own voice, but with this SteelSeries Alias USB Microphone I truly think I sound better. Plus, playing around with the wide variety of default presets is fun. I've found my favorites, but will continue to experiment and change things up as I go. The customization options via the Sonar software is a game changer; literally.

This condenser mic is nicely designed featuring rgb lighting, a slick stand, and seems to record right out of the box without any hassle.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good this mic sounds without changing any settings, but having the ability to fine tune it
even more with the SteelSeriesGG software gives it quite a bit of edge. Hooking it up to my boom arm was simple with the included adapter, but honestly
it looks good on the stand as well.
pros
In my opinion its a really nice looking microphone, has a nice style to it
Built in led visual indicator level bar on the microphone makes this a nice feature to see how loud your recording
as well as when pressing mute which shows a large indicator so you know when the mic is off
includes a mic monitoring port (3.5mm)
On mic quick access gain dial/mute button/headphone gain dial
Customizable rgb colors through the SSGG software suite
cons
i personally can't come up with anything i dislike about this mic
overall
i can't really complain about much with this mic,
the aesthetics of it are very nice, everything just flows from the design of the mic to the rgb colors radiating off of the slick included stand.
the sound is good and better when software tweaked, and the mic looks good on my desk with all my other gadgets.

It does not produce good quality audio out of the box with any of the presets. Also hardly anyone has a good recommendation on YouTube for good mic settings to make your voice sound crispy.
I would recommend getting the
YETI GX by LOGITECH!
the software is 100X easier to use.
Also you’re gonna need a shock mount to help with unwanted vibrations it will pick up.
The Elgato Wave:1/3 works for the yeti!
As long as you use your screw that connects the mic to the desktop stand provided in the yeti box.
If you need a video on this, let me know on my YouTube channel at DUDEBOX69 by commenting on any of my videos. I’ll respond and make a video about the yeti I have. All my crispy audio settings and how to make the Cahill mount work.

The SteelSeries Alias USB Microphone has truly been a game-changer in my audio recording and communication setup. As a new content creator intending to focus on game streaming, I demand a microphone that can deliver exceptional clarity and versatility. The Alias microphone not only met but exceeded my expectations in every aspect.
First and foremost, the setup was a breeze. It's a true plug-and-play device, and I was up and running in seconds. The USB-C connectivity is a huge plus, allowing me to use it with my laptop and desktop without the need for any additional drivers or complicated configurations. This simplicity is a welcome feature for anyone who wants to get straight to recording or communicating without technical hassles. The Steelcase Sonar software allows control of all the microphone settings and is very intuitive and easy to use with drag and drop app routing and easy to use sliders for mixing.
The sound quality of the Alias microphone is where it truly shines. Whether I'm recording voiceovers, participating in virtual meetings, or live streaming when I’m gaming, the audio quality is outstanding. The large capsule, which is stated to be three times larger than other mics, captures my voice with exceptional clarity while minimizing background noise. I've found that it effectively isolates my voice, making my recordings sound professional and polished. The frequency response is broad, capturing the nuances of my voice, whether I'm speaking, or playing a game. The software provides AI based noise cancelling that works great.
The Alias microphone also offers great versatility. It comes with a desktop stand that allows me to position the microphone at the optimal height and angle. This flexibility is a real advantage for various recording scenarios. Additionally, the integrated shock mount effectively reduces unwanted vibrations, enhancing the overall recording quality.
The microphone's solid build and sleek design give it a professional and premium feel. The volume controls are conveniently located on the front of the microphone, allowing for quick adjustments without disrupting your workflow. The 5-stage LED level meter is a handy feature to know at a glance whether the microphone is active or muted. I particularly liked the big red X that appears when the mic is muted.
In conclusion, the SteelSeries Alias USB Microphone is a top-notch choice for anyone looking to elevate their audio recording and communication game. It’s the perfect mic while gaming. The exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and versatile design make it a must-have for content creators, streamers, and remote professionals.
