Have been looking for the right balance in a gaming keyboard that will also provide productivity. I have found it with the SteelSeries Apex 7. The only slight oddity with the keyboard are the numeric keys at the top - have the symbols below the numbers, instead of above. This is not a deal breaker, but is not typical, and takes a little adjustment. This follows thru with all 'alternate function' of any dual purpose key on the board.

Love this keyboard. I came from a g710+ that I used for many years and loved it until I broke a few keys and needed a replacement.
This Apex 7 is a great replacement for me. I currently love it. My only gripe if you will is that the keys are very sensitive unlike the g710+. Has to do with Cherry switches on the G710+ and the red switches on the Apex 7, and me not being used to the sensitivity.
Altogether, I really like the premium feel of this keyboard.

This is, by far, the best keyboard I've ever owned. It is touted as being Linear-Quiet but some may find it still a bit too loud. I'm OK with the dampened click feedback. The lighting control is truly amazing and looks great. Steel Series demonstrates consistent software support without all the glitchy nonsense and bests even the biggest name competitors.
Having been a Tactile kind of guy for many years, this keyboard has convinced me that Linear is better. Super fast and precise. Worth every penny.

Keyboard is perfect, I have a full blown SteelSeries setup (mouse, pad, headphones, and now keyboard) so I'm a bit biased here. Spacebar is a bit sensitive but other then that keyboard is excellent syncs perfectly with all items. Little screen on top right is fully customizable and a nice little touch. A little pricey but you get what you pay for so spend a little and enjoy every second of it.

The keys have a great feel and I can type faster and with fewer errors than my Corsair K95. I don't like the little LCD display; it's hidden by the num pad keys. I also don't like the media controls as much as the Corsair's. The volume roller has detents and it takes a lot of rolling to cover the full volume range. Programming macros is left as a mystery for you to uncover by researching on the web, but they're real eager to have you install their invasive data collection and advertising software masquerading as a game play recording solution.
