Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the exceptional sound quality, encompassing impressive bass and clear audio detail, as a major pro. Comfort is another frequently praised aspect, although some users found the fit to be a bit snug or the headset too small. While the included GameDAC and its sound customization options receive positive feedback, a shorter-than-ideal cable length and higher price point are recurring criticisms.

Great but has issues (Static noise)

This is the first expensive headset i have ever bought for gaming, I usually get your typical $50, no mix-amp, headset. But i bought these even though they very expensive thinking it would be worth it. At first they were, i used them for hours and immediately felt a difference in quality to the headsets i was used to wearing. But after a while i started getting this crackling or static noise every so often through my audio. I thought it was me at first, but i looked up the problem and there are other people in forums talking about the same problem over a YEAR ago. So this has been a problem for a while and they still haven't fixed it. All the people had different situations to mine, some were on PS4 pro's, some on xbox, and most on PC. So this is not a problem with my ps4 or TV, this is a problem with the headset. When i unplug all the cables and plug them again i can SOMETIMES get the static to go away for maybe a few hours, then it's back. I would say, if you are looking for a headset that is expensive and has a mix-amp, look somewhere else. I don't guarantee you that the same will happen with you, but i wish i had seen a review about this static noise before i bought them to know not to spend over $200 for something that has issues on the first day.

    Extremely Uncomfortable for Big Heads

I would say I've done about 4 hours of research into a new gaming headset for around 150-250. After seeing rave reviews and only a few concerns I figured the Arctis Pro would be a perfect choice for me. Unfortunately this was not the case as the headset was FAR too small for my head. The distance from ear to ear is uncomfortable but manageable, but the distance from ear to top of head is absolutely unwearable for anyone with a bigger head (as mine is). The steel band presses on your head leading to a headache in my case, and the cushions push up on your ears constantly. This being said, I didn't even bother plugging them in as I know I wouldn't be able to keep them, so my rating is a 2/5 as I can only speak to the fact that these are literally unwearable for me. I really wanted these headphones to work, and I'm extremely disappointed in a brand as trustworthy as Steelseries. Not sure why there's no vertical adjustment options, but it needs to be implemented or these headphones will continue to be unwearable for those with bigger heads.

    Very bad

It didn’t work properly out of the box. It would get super loud and make a bunch of static noise out of nowhere. Steel series sent me another cable instead of a new headset. It didn’t fix my problem and they didn’t do anything else to fix it.

Glitchy mess & SS support is unsupportive at best!

Buy at your wallet's risk! This thing has been glitchy for the year I've owned it, with the GameDAC game mode constantly switching to GameDAC Chat (and removing GameDAC game as an option entirely) when launching apps, games or when waking PC from sleep etc. Previously, unplugging the USB from the DAC and plugging it back in would reset it and allow you to use GameDAC Game like intended. Now every time I launch Discord and enter a chat channel, or launch a game, it kills GameDAC game entirely and falls back to chat. Trying to force it by unplugging/re-plugging the DAC just results in a 5-6 reboot cycle of the DAC and lands you back in GameDAC Chat with GameDAC game not even being an option. This wouldn't be an issue, but in Chat mode none of your EQ settings, bass boost, room mode or surround settings work, and the sound is very anemic at best and utter crap at the worst. I've been in communication with Steelseries, and they said they would RMA it, but there is no stock on the DAC, they won't use the full headset and DAC to RMA it, they put it on you to watch for stock availability of the DAC on their website and you to notify them when it's available to get the DAC, then I have to hope they will actually honor it if that ever happens. I've been waiting nearly 2 months with no availability of just the DAC, and when I notified them of the combo unit availability a few weeks ago, they said they would only replace the DAC and not the entire setup. Ir doesn't matter how good something sounds when it works, if it only works intermittently and then eventually not at all. For an expensive $250 headset, all of this is unforgivable. The final straw is that if the DAC pukes like mine has, you can't even just plug the headset directly into your PC because the cord from the DAC to your headset is micro USB to Micro USB, and the cord from the PC to the DAC is USB to mini USB. So, if you want to try to just use the headset minus the DAC, you're going to have to go buy a (long) USB to micro USB cord to use it. I am sorely disgruntled with this product, if that wasn't clear. ;)

Huge Disappointment for the hefty price tag

I was looking for a nice gaming headset to play World of Warcraft with, but also to be able to listen to music and movies and have them sound decent, especially if I was spending 250 dollars. I had a Cloud Hyper X already for about 50 dollars, and it was good, but I was looking for a nice upgrade. I heard a lot of good things about this one so I went and picked it up. Pulled it out of the box and I was super excited because of the cool little gamer dac to adjust sounds and thought they fit really well. From there, my excitement and impression of these all went downhill after hearing sounds come out of them. First of all, they're incredibly quiet. I ended up going to their website and it said they have to put on a decibel restriction to comply with laws, but you can make them louder by going in and adjusting the decibel level. Complying with laws, I get it, but even after turning the gamer dac up as high as it would go, turning up the volume on my computer and on the Netflix controls as high as they all would go, it was still way too quiet. Since I had Netflix up I tested that first to see if it would suit all my needs. I had the live-action Beauty and the Beast on and my word, did it sound incredibly awful. It sounded tinny, absolutely no bass, and the sound was not even that clear, especially not audiophile quality as with some of the other reviews said. At this point I was just like, okay, movies don't sound great, but this is a gaming headset, so let me open up World of Warcraft and see what I can do with them. The loading screen music also sounded terrible just as Netflix had been, and still quiet even after turning up the settings on WoW all the way to max, and just playing with all the sound settings on there. I logged in and the sounds still sounded just, bad, as if this was a 20 dollar headset. I played with the equalizer on the gamer dac too, just to make sure I couldn't adjust it to make it sound any better. I turned the bass all the way up, too, and it was still just tin and basically non-existent. Lastly, attempted to listen to Spotify to cover all my bases, and still the same impression as with everything else I had listened to. No bass, too quiet, ok sound quality. Definitely not worth the price tag, put my Clouds back on and they sounded so much better.

    Fragile

Pretty nice headset for its price, and the DAC helps. But, this thing is the most fragile headset I've ever owned. I've broke two of these by accidentally knocking it off of my desk. They won't take a fall from even a few feet because of the rotating earcups. Both have broken in the exact same spot on the same side, too. Seems there is a defect in the molding process or something else that makes the right swivel particularly weak.

    Super over hyped Headset!!!!

So I went and got these today, was pretty jazzed about them because seen some good reviews about them. Well man did I make a big mistake getting these things, they sound awful, the best way I can describe them is if you put on ear muffs and then you put these on! The audio is bad, I played with the eq settings and nothing changed, they are not that loud and are very uncomfortable if you have a big head. I have had alot of gaming headsets, and in my opinion the best set is, 2 gen or TR Astro mixamp with any other headset other than the astro a40. I have both mixamps and I use the hyper x core and also the hyper x alpha headset with the mixamps. That set up blows these out the water!!!!! The audio is so crisp and they are loud. BUYER beware these have alot of gimmicks and are a awful headset for the price of $250.00. Get the Astro TR mix amp and hook them up with a good headset, for about $150.00 you will be better off.

    NOT worth the price!!

Yes, it looks nice and feels nice, but NO NOISE CANCELLATION! Huge problem! I play COD competitively and everyone can hear every little background noise! Also, the sound isn't great. My old $80 Hyper X Cloud sounded better, honestly. Im returning mine after one week of having them.
