The game is fantastic despite all the censorship controversy behind it. One if not best PS5 exclusive out there. The gameplay has Sekiro deflection with simple control scheme and stylish combat. Despite what some say It's not a button masher, but it's also not very deep like dmc. So if you're hoping for a simple button masher or dmc control scheme look elsewhere. The game is as difficult or easy as you want it to be after understanding the basics. You got a few combos that are easy to memorize that you can mix in special abilities with. Dodge and deflection have counter attacks with additional finishers. Eventually you get a devil trigger type ability, but honestly it makes the game a bit too cheesy and bland. My first play through I utilized all combos mixed in with charged finishers, deflection/dodge counters with an occasional beta/burst ability. After unlocking all the abilities it's effortlessly easy especially after mastering the dodge/parry window. The exploration isn't entirely open world you get a couple of linear stages without maps and small open world areas with main/side missions and collectibles. If you focus on the main missions you can finish the game in 20-25 hrs with side missions and collectibles 60-80 hrs. There's no need to grind as long as you do all the side missions and optional bosses. The story is 7/10, gameplay 8/10, music 10/10, visuals, 9/10 and for a PS5 exclusive game the performance is a solid 10. Balanced mode is the best mode (imo) with upscale 4k and a pretty steady targeted 60. Personally this is a must play. A side note after running through ng+ theres nothing that keeps you staying. Which is fine with me these days with plenty of games that over stay their welcome it's quite refreshing.

Excellent graphics, consistent controls, challenging game play, interesting story, very detailed and varied environments, easy to understand game mechanics and puzzles. I had fun going out of my way to find everything in the game, leveling up, playing around with the various gear combinations as I accumulated those components. I thought the character design was excellent. Character animation was also excellent with a lot of attention paid to how your character interacts with the environment with little touches you don't always find in other games, or simply executed better -- movement generally seemed natural and made sense. The English dub could use some work, and I'm not sure what happened there. Line delivery felt a bit flat. Towards the end, I noticed things picking up and sounding a bit more engaging. Otherwise, the sound design is phenomenal and those with good sound setups are in for a treat. I'm not a fan of the last minute changes made with patch and I'm not sure what the real point was since you'll find the affected graphics elsewhere in the game, and it all looks just fine. The few suite changes were disappointing and unnecessary in my opinion, but fairly meaningless all things considered in terms of game play and enjoyment (I certainly don't agree with any perceived necessity regarding them). I wish these things were handled with setting toggles. The various gear have their applications and it's worth exploring builds. Skill point farming is fun and worth your time and effort to maximize your skill set early as well as becoming proficient with the move sets you'll unlock. If you like action RPGs that aren't button mashers, this is for you.

Yes, yes jiggle physics and all that, moving on. There is more to this game than simple appeal. It has great an interesting story, paced very well; a fun broken world, with gorgeous visuals; and excellent mechanics, keeps you paced with learning new and powerful combos/ways to fight. About mechanics: Fighting feels very intune, much like those of the soulsborne series. Parrying series of attacks and dodging at the last minute feels buttery-smooth. Leveling up your expansive skill tree increases your potency with new moves and animated combos attacks. About the story: no spoilers, but the story is remeniscint of a Nier game (not as philosophical, but the intrigue remains the same). Definitely keeps your attention. It could be considered telegraphed like an LoZ game, but it doesnt fail to deliver. Overall, my wife and I love this game, super fun. And for being a first main level entry for the studio, im definitely interested in what they have to offer in the future (as long as it isnt mobile related…).

I played the demo and was meh, i then played the PS 2hr trial, and it got better, now I'm in it to win it and it is good. The combat so far has been pretty simple, I have died to some Boss fights a few times until you get the timing. There is a parry mechanic, it can be considered a soulsbourne i guess but it isn't that brutal. it is a pretty game, not overly hard, open areas (after the beginning) are easy too avoid mobs but avoiding mobs doesn't help you level up. Some of the harder parts are when there are too many mobs to fend off at once.

*Stellar Blade* is a visually stunning action-adventure game that delivers a thrilling blend of fast-paced combat and an intriguing sci-fi narrative. Developed by Shift Up, the game follows Eve, a warrior tasked with reclaiming Earth from monstrous creatures. Its combat system, inspired by titles like *Bayonetta* and *Sekiro*, is precise and satisfying, rewarding skillful play with flashy combos and devastating finishers. The post-apocalyptic world is beautifully crafted, with vibrant environments and a haunting soundtrack that enhance immersion. However, the story can feel predictable at times, and some side quests lack depth. Despite these minor flaws, *Stellar Blade* shines as a bold debut, offering around 20-25 hours of engaging gameplay for fans of action-packed adventures.

Aside from the android waifu, and nice style of music, these games aren't really alike. If anything, this game is a Dark Souls game with waifus and more story. Regardless, it's a whole lot of fun. The combat is challening, but rewarding to master, and the visuals are impressive. The mediocre story can be completely forgiven because of how great everything else is. I have only two complaints. With how much detail there is in every map, it can become annoying and overwhelming searching for items and chests. It pretty much necessitates using the scan feature as often as possoble and it kind if dampens the experience. Otber complaint is tjat the English voice acting is AWFUL. Korean all the way, but even those voice actors aren't amazing. Well worth the monry despite the issues. Long live the N Word Store.

One of my favorite games this year. I know its widely seen as a dumb gooner game but its genuinely a fun experience, and anyone who says otherwise is too stuck up to enjoy a good time. I got through the game in about 2 weeks or so and never had a bad time (except a certain fish minigame). I even enjoyed it so much that I've started a new-game plus run. If you enjoy Dark souls, Nier Automata, Code Vein or anything in those genres, you'd have a good time. Contrary to what most people will say it DOES actually have a solid story that may not be as compelling or ground-breaking as God of War but still kept me interested til the end. TL;DR would recommend unless you have an issue with attractive female protagonists ruining your gaming experience

I initially bought this game because I was captivated by its stunning style and graphics. I adore the aesthetics and the characters' outfits, the futuristic cyberpunk vibe is absolutely mesmerizing. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, we follow a female protagonist on a mission filled with questions and doubts. At first, she appears indifferent and solely focused on her objective, but as the story unfolds, she grows alongside the game, gradually uncovering the truth of this universe. Her awareness deepens, and her more human side begins to shine. The game’s soundtrack deserves special praise. It masterfully blends energetic electronic tracks with epic, emotional scores, perfectly enhancing the experience. Whether you're in the heat of battle or exploring quiet, mysterious areas, the music pulls you in, making every moment feel more intense and immersive. The narrative is filled with unexpected twists, and the side missions often tell the stories of other characters, adding depth to the plot and enhancing emotional connection. The gameplay is fast-paced and fluid, with the parry and perfect dodge mechanics feeling incredibly satisfying. The skill tree and the numerous build options allow you to tailor your combat style to suit your preferences. Exploration is also rewarding, with each area being expansive enough to hide secrets in every corner. One of the most enjoyable aspects is the ability to customize Eve with a variety of outfits, accessories, and hairstyles. It's also a delight to have the option to personalize non-playable characters. This game quickly became my favorite, making me want to replay it often, despite being a single-player experience. The only minor flaw was the voice acting, where I read that there were some issues with translations from Korean. However, this small detail did not prevent me from loving the game as a whole. I always recommend it to everyone, emphasizing that there is much more to discover beyond the main character's appearance, an incredible game that deserves to be explored in every little detail.

Great game to kick back and have some fun. The combat is not brutal like Elden Ring/Dark Souls, but it isn't a cake walk either. The graphics are excellent and this new IP looks like a banger for Sony. If you want something easier than Elden Ring with still a good challenge, then I highly recommend.

Such a fun, well-crafted game. Amazing combat and striking visuals. Exploration is actually much more involved and rewarding than I expected it to be. Localization is rather stiff and downright bad (ADAM), but apart from those minor sore spots (ADAM), I have shockingly few complaints. Also, the soundtrack? You'll hear people say "Eh, it's so derivative of NieR". Ignore them. It's certainly similar in soundscape, but to write it off as derivative or "same-y" is entirely disingenuous. Definitely recommend this for anyone looking for some good combat and an entertaining story while jamming to some baller music.

An excellent game. One of the best combats I’ve played from Elden Ring to Uncharted with its combat being somewhat close to Sekiro though I’ve never played this game makes me want to more just for combat. The story is great if not generic as you’re saving the world from and “evil” force, but the end twist was unpredictable. If you rush the story the characters may seem bland, but if you take your time you can see them grow and make their own decisions. Only real issue are when you have to platform but that’s it. Overall one of the best games of 2024. 9.8/10

A surprisingly good game for essentially playing as a fantasy character. The story was actually really interesting and the combat was phenomenal. The acting left a lot to be desired, a lot of the characters had ridiculous figures, and I think some things were lost in translation but overall a great game.

Positive Aspects: 1. **Visuals and Graphics**: - Stellar Blade has been praised for its stunning and detailed graphics. The visual quality is one of its standout features, showcasing the capabilities of the PlayStation 5. 2. **Combat System**: - The combat is dynamic and fluid, reminiscent of games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Players can expect a mix of fast-paced melee and ranged attacks, with an emphasis on timing and skill. 3. **World and Design**: - The post-apocalyptic world is richly designed, with a variety of environments that are both beautiful and haunting. The level of detail in the game's design helps immerse players in its setting. 4. **Storyline**: - The storyline appears to be emotionally engaging, focusing on the protagonist, Eve, as she navigates through a world filled with monstrous creatures. The narrative elements are expected to add depth to the gameplay experience. ### Potential Concerns: 1. **Gameplay Innovation**: - While the combat and visuals are impressive, some previews have noted that the game may rely heavily on established action-adventure mechanics without introducing groundbreaking innovations. This isn't necessarily a drawback, but it may not stand out in terms of originality. 2. **Release and Performance**: - As with any highly anticipated game, there are concerns about how well it will perform at launch in terms of stability and bugs. Players will need to wait for the release and initial reviews to see how smoothly the game runs. ### Summary: Overall, Stellar Blade has generated excitement due to its high production values and engaging gameplay mechanics. If you enjoy action-adventure games with a strong emphasis on combat and visual storytelling, Stellar Blade is likely to be a title worth checking out. However, final judgments will depend on the full release and the experiences of the broader gaming community.
