Love the game and the premium edition came with a cute buffalo plushie keychain and a fabric poster, that I think I could make a small bag out of it, or use it as a large mousepad. It is really cute!! >v

This game is such a big step up from the previous ones in the series. It’s so pretty! I also really appreciate that the team was willing to listen to community feedback and make changes/patches accordingly. I’m excited for the DLC to come out!

Another Great (REAL) Harvest Moon Game

I've been playing the Bokujō Monogatari series since it came to the West as Harvest Moon in 1997, and still have my SNES cartridge. This is a bit of a departure in that you don't need individual tools to care for animals anymore (finally!) and you need to use Makers to produce/refine your materials as opposed to just harvesting/chopping/pulling them. This becomes slightly cumbersome after awhile as you need fields of Makers to achieve your goals. There are elements borrowed from Animal Crossing, as well, such as starting your farm from scratch, while sleeping in a tent. All of that said, this is an excellent entry into the series. I've been playing since release day, fairly nonstop. The customisation of placing farm buildings precisely where you want them, and the gradual progression of unlocking more areas with newer materials upon your farm itself is rewarding. My only complaint is the maker system needs some redoing, which I suspect/hope they can tune up in future planned updates. Being able to make stacks in the makers, as well as in requesting identification of Treasure at the museum, would make the game ideal. The Buffalo plush and fabric wall hanging included with this are very good quality, definitely worth the extra $10 purchase price. I absolutely love that there is a physical booklet included. Too few games do that these days. (Please note that the Marvelous Harvest Moon games since Animal Parade have not ACTually been Bokujō Monogatari/"real" Harvest Moon titles. Don't let the more recent "Harvest Moon" games swear you off the series entirely.) TL;DR: IF you enjoy Animal Crossing, crafting games, or other Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons titles, you should definitely give this one a chance, too.

Gameplay Pros: -lots of quality of life improvements, ex. sprinklers and unlockable bonus farmland -a variety of animal breeds you can find wild seasonally plus lots of cute pets and mounts -progression feels fair and balanced -lots of crops, flowers, recipes, and clothes -cute new farm deco, ex. animal-shaped topiary -a variety of customization options for your character -the map tells you where NPCs are Gameplay Cons: -NPCs look cute but are completely forgettable -town events feel generic and impersonal -dialogue is currently very bland, there’s an update in the works to improve it as of this writing -frame rates drop just from having seasonal clutter growing on the farm -too many makers required at present, there’s an update in the works to improve it as of this writing All in all, I thought I got my money’s worth out of the game and I’m happy to keep playing it. It could stand to be better optimized, but as it is now it’s still a fun game with enough in it to keep you coming back. The special edition extras: The fabric “poster” feels stiff and starchy but quite durable, I have no issues with tacking it to the wall and expect it to last. The plush buffalo is significantly softer than I expected, a cute palm-sized friend.

I paid the $60 for this game and I got the premium bundle a really nice stuffie Buffalo very squishy and silky smooth perfectly made, A very well made Cloth Photo I had some trouble putting it on a wall though so I used some special sticky tabs, The game needs more to do so far I'm about 2 weeks in just got past my first Festival and a little bored, there's plenty to keep you busy with but that's not the same thing is keeping you entertained I see this game dropping in price fast, I hope this game sees DLC soon

    Frontier life is great!

This entry is definitely a wonderful addition to the series. It really does bring together some of the better features of older titles, and it has some great character designs. I feel the townspeople are a little more interesting and cute overall in their designs, but I like what the LIs have going for them. I also really appreciate the character customization, and that we can still marry whichever LI, regardless of gender. There are some features that can use improvement, and I'm glad to see the development team committed to patches, affordable DLC, and other updates. I hope the next entry improves even more, in mechanics, and graphically and design-wise.

I picked this up on a whim without ever playing a game in this series, and I genuinely like it. It's cute, calm, and gameplay is pretty good. It looks really nice, and it's a good time killer. If you like stardew valley, or animal crossing, you'll most likely like this. The bonus items were nice, too. The little plush was soft and cuddly, and the artwork is really pretty.

I feel this is a step away from their traditional games. You have makers to craft the things you need to make your house upgrades, and other things. There are no character portraits (really hope this changes) which is sad cause a lot of events I see just the back of someone and can't tell what they look like. The story is as usual simple. There are patches and dlc content being done so some of the most disappointing things about the game may not be there for long. Such as not being able to put things on a rug..... If you don't like games like My Time at Portia you may not like this.

I've played for about a month and it is one of the best Story of Seasons yet. The mining is back, although not as in depth as it's been. The characters are charming and I actually read their dialogue which I don't normally do. You can customize your farm and there's lots of land to build on. The town is just the right size with lots of shops and two different restaurants. There are some things to improve on, such as indoor customization and too many specific makers that could be combined. Overall, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes farming sim games.

I love this game!! Slightly different than the last Story of Seasons game but it has better graphics/more clothing options/more pet options, etc. I would recommend this game for anyone, especially someone who likes Animal Crossing or Stawdew Valley as well. :) *The premium edition came with a buffalo plushie, which was smaller than I expected, it fits into the palm of my hands. It also comes with a small, cloth poster with artwork from the game on it.

I'm so excited to see the latest BokuMono/Story of Seasons game make a return to consoles. The game is lovely to look at and fun to get lost in. A few complaints, the way makers were handled, they end up taking over your farm a bit if you're not careful, and the character's dialogue doesn't change up as often as I'd like, but there's an update coming in late May that should address these issues. It's not perfect, but I've really enjoyed exploring this game and getting to know the townsfolk and building up my farm. Great for fans of the genre and the series.

Only complaint is with the machine-based processing where you constantly have to feed machines for materials and you need multiple copies to get things really going. Other than that, there's quite a few quality of life improvements from previous versions of this game. If you like the old-style Harvest Moons, Stardew Valley, or have tried the Story of Seasons series before then this is worth a shot.

It’s a fun and relaxing game. You have a farm and grow vegetables and raise animals. Also there’s mining and crafting items to sell. You can go fishing and talk to a lot of characters. The premium edition comes with a Buffalo plushie and a cloth wall hanging.

Fun little game. Good for beginners. However, it is a bit bland for long time fans of the franchise. They made it super easy to pick up and play, but the characters are missing some...personality? there are a few nit picky things I didn't like (ex, fish are just a generic silhouette in the museum and the makers get everywhere!), but it's still fun. I recommend it to fans of this style of gameplay.

Been hoping for a game that brought back the Harvest Moon of old and a good mix of the improvements that Stardew Valley brought to the formula..... this is it. This game further improves on everything that Stardew made better from Harvest Moon. Top 5 in the genre, IMO.

The wife really enjoys this title. It's taken some cues from the likes of Stardew Valley to improve the gameplay over precious releases. A few bugs and nuisances like excessive amounts of makers for each item, but overall a good play for fans of the genre

There is soo much to do and explore on your farm that you don’t have enough time in a day. It’s a great game and I love the little plushie. It just doesn’t come with the expansion pack, so you’ll just have to pick it up

I started playing 4 days ago. So far, it's kind of boring, but that might be because I'm used to games such as My Time in Portia, Stardew Valley, and Rune Factory 5. The graphics of this game are pretty cute, and the music is nice. The gameplay is a bit wonky, especially when it comes to the controls; if you play using both Nintendo switch controls separately, I mean. The story's pace seems to me to be a bit off, and the actual game feels that it is missing something, but maybe it's because I haven't played far enough into the game that it seems so. I might come back and update this review once I've played further into the game.

Very similar to Stardew Valley but better art design. Like that my land is bigger than Stardews and the animals are cuter. I don’t die in the mines either. Loved the cute bull and fabric poster was nice compare to the normal paper posters.
