If you like Mario, it's easy to have loads of fun with this game. Making levels is really fun and will test your creativity (if you wanna make a good level). And if you're bad at it like me, don't worry! It's still really entertaining and satisfying going through the levels others have designed--others' creativity in this game is truly impressive. Highly recommended!

Mario maker 2 is quite an improvement from the first installment. Making levels is fun from the simplest to the most complex of designs. I do wish they had gave us more in the way of boss fights this time around but still a a lot of options. Being able to play other players courses online basically gives you an unlimited Mario game. Would recommend to any Mario fan.

Super Mario Maker 2 is amazing. There's a world of potential for making your own levels here; lots of items, enemies, locations, and themes to play with. If you haven't tried your hand at making Mario levels before, there's a simple tutorial mode that articulates the mechanics of the game well–it'll inspire you to get creating in no time. Some limitations will keep you from making truly massive levels (this is probably to keep file sizes down for the upload/download process), but with the use of both an overworld/underworld and clever placement of warp portals you can get around it to some degree. There is a campaign mode this time around. It involves rebuilding Princess Peach's castle, and is effectively a showcase of what kind of levels you can create. It's fairly short though (maybe 5-7 hours), so the meat of the game is still concocting your own Mario zones. If you don't have time and patience to devote to the creative process, Super Mario Maker 2 may not be for you. Making quality levels can be challenging if you take it seriously, so younger kids could find this one more frustrating than fun. Or it could be just what they need to get the creative juices flowing...you decide!

If you're a fan of 2D Mario games, this should definitely be on your wishlist. The single player stuff is fun and I enjoy creating levels, but the real fun is in trying other people's creations. There are a variety of different types and themes for levels and it's a near endless supply of them. Being able to load one up and see how to beat it is really fun.

This addition to the "Mario" library is great! Not only did we enjoy the challenging levels the Nintendo crew created for us, but being able to connect with courses from around the world is neat! This brings the creativity right to your finger tips, and not only allows you to have fun and unwind but also have a creative outlet!

Super Mario Maker 2 is so fun! I'm a big fan of the first one and was really hoping a second would come out for the Switch. My favorite part about this game is that you can not only make levels, but you can play levels other players from around the world make an upload onto the Nintendo server.

Anyone looking at this game knows exactly what it is just by the title, but there may be a bit of micconception regarding it's capability as a product. I purchased this exclusively to allow myself to create platformers that would be both fun and educational for my 2yo/4yo respectively, and that, in and of itself, is amazing. Having a product that allows me to create levels where they literally don't have to face mobs/interact with "violent" situations (even minor virtual ones like Mario has had) is astonishing. As a parent I'd recommend this 10/10. As a gamer I'd say you're NUTS not to try it because everyone's had at some point or another a moment where they found themselves thinking "I wonder what a platformer would play like if it had 'x' element." and this game allows you (within respective bounds, naturally) to do just that, and express your creativity in ways that otherwise would require modding/rom hacking, or a history in game development.

Make no mistake, this game is fantastic but there certain cautions to take heed of. You can certainly play it for fun for yourself and enjoy the contributions of others online. Perhaps you will play it with the intent to create a genuinely enjoyable experience for strangers the world over. Or, if this is for someone of younger age who was not around to enjoy several of the older Super Mario games, this would be a great introduction to most of the Mario classics in one go. And lastly, you can participate online in the ongoing exploration into the depths of human suffering. Not all but certainly not few, concentrate on creating the most frustrating levels to complete online, with the only condition on uploading a seemingly impossible trial is that the creator needs to beat it themselves first. With the in game adventure essentially being a showcase for all the mechanics you are allowed to use together, and on other people, this creates the formula for the most difficult Mario platformer to date. And if you enjoy a g̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶c̶l̶e̶a̶n̶ difficult challenge by a faceless stranger, the fun lasts forever.

Very fun game that will push your creativity building games. If you ever wanted to make your own game, this is a simple way to make that possible. You can also just play a ton of levels that other people made if you don’t want to create. Very fun game.

Best Switch game ever, endless fun since you can play the story mode levels or the endless player created levels that range from easy to just about impossible. You can also creat levels to your hearts desire. Want to test your Mario abilities…this is the game for you.

This game is fantastic, not only can you create new custom Mario levels, but you can now create, and download, whole new Mario worlds, all of the special mechanics and art styles from previous games is available, near endless fun with this game, one of the best the Switch has to offer!

This game provides the avenues of experiential lesson making and teaching while maintaining the supplemental habits healthily provisioned within an improvised shuffle of player made levels. It features the creativity of many variable people and things!

Not much happiness can be found in the troubling times that we are presently living in. It’s tough to see and identify a smiling face behind all the masks. However it this case as it relates to back to school and our Grandson in a time of uncertainty, fear and skepticism in the realm of our educational institutions there shines a glimmer of hope. Upon completion of our Grandson first week back to school, he achieved high honors and praise for helping other children that were nervous and frightened of being away from their homes and family as a result of the corona virus which delayed the return to school and extended time off for summer vacation. His teacher awarded him the Purple Prince for his contributions in calming and getting the students to relax in their new kindergarten environment! So we rewarded him with a gift of his choice and he selected Super Mario Maker 2 which he enjoys immensely! Caught it on sale, so it was a great buy at Best Buy!

I picked this up for my 10 year old son. He plays a lot of Minecraft and similar building games, and I thought this would be a good fit for that mindset. As expected he loves creating levels. Some are better than others, but the fact that this game evokes some creativity from the player is a big plus.

Mario Maker 2 is my first maker game and I really enjoy how creative this game lets me be. It is rewarding to make my own levels, and it is even better to just jump in to other people's creations. The single player mode is short but fun, and I really like how polished the whole game feels.

For anyone who is a Mario fan will love this game. Not only can you create your own levels but it has a campaign which is great because it switches between the classic Mario's and the modern Mario games so it never gets old. Then you can play endless levels that other people have created. Would recommend!
