Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is a blast!

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is a fun game for everyone! It includes 49 playable characters with their own unique moves, local & online multiplayer modes, several stages, and many modes to play! This is the kind of game you can play by yourself or with friends. There is always something to do in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. And some of the modes and stages are different than the Smash Bros. for Wii U! Definitely a fun game for everyone.

This game is gold no matter where you play it. This is the first iteration in the series that got me exploring the single-player challenges and games instead of bee-lining straight for the multiplayer Smash. If I could give it a 9/10 I would, but it's closer to 5/5 than 4/5. I already owned Smash Wii U and I was worried that the 3DS version wouldn't compare, but it really is very close. Depending on my Internet connection, online can have pretty bad lag, but I'm not sure I can blame the game for that!

    Smash is back!

Smash 4 is a great entry into the Smash Bros series. I own both the 3DS version and the Wii U version. The 3DS version contains all the great fun and combat of the Smash series with the plus of being on a portable console so you can take it on the go. A few minuses I could mention: - Smaller screen can make gameplay a little hard to follow with a lot happening on the stage. - Graphics are much worse than the Wii U version (To be expected on a handheld console) - Load times on the regular 3DS can be a little long. n3DS improves on the load times by a LOT. I play both the Wii U version and the 3DS version and I love them both. I grew up playing Smash 64 and this is a great title to remind me of those days.

It's SSB on a portable device!

A fantastic game overall. If you've liked any other SSB game, you'll probably like this game. Plus it has the bonus of being portable so you can play it anywhere! It's definitely the definitive SSB (until the WiiU version comes out). The 3DS exclusive Smash Run mode is also a lot of fun (but the mode doesn't have wifi multiplayer). All of that said, it does suffer from some lag issues occasionally during online play (if one of the people has a less-than-high-quality connection), and sometimes inputs are a bit imprecise (a result of the less-than-stellar 3DS circle-pads). On the whole though, I highly recommend this game. It's got a TON of content and replay-ability, and it's just plain fun. It has all the craziness that makes a SSB game a great SSB game and more!

    Good Portable Version

This is a good portable version of the Wii U game, although I still say the console version is better. It does seem to play better on one of the larger 3DS systems (XL or New 3DS). If it is on the older, small system, the screen may be a bit too small.

No other handheld game can come close to the amount of content this game has crammed into it. Smash bros first debut title on a handheld is an amazing attempt at porting one of Nintendo's best selling franchises to a handheld and it works, as long as you get used to the controls. The online works as long as you have a stable connection and then local multiplayer is just like playing locally, except when there are issues from other sources. The game was an enormous amount of content to unlock and challenges to complete. Great game to hold you off from the Wii U release.

We bought two copies during one of the weeks when BB was running a B1G40%off, which totally beat out B2G1 (effectively you don't pay for a 2nd game). Now pair that with Gamers Unlocked sub and it's a complete steal. Anyway, we have the WiiU Smash, so you are able to bring in your 3DS characters into the game. It's great fun to ramp up your characters secretly and sucker punch your fellow game players when you bring them into the WiiU gameplay.

I have realy enjoyed having Smash available in a handheld format. While it does take some getting used to considering the joystick movement, as well as the lack of a second joystick like on the Wii U version, once you get the controls figured out its as good as any of the others in the series.

Smash Bros 3DS (and Wii U, for that matter) are games designed for parties and friends, not really meant to be played alone. Sure there are some cool single-player challenges and activities on the 3DS version, but the true fun that comes from this game is when you can play with friends. A really neat side feature for this game is the fact that you can link your 3DS to the Wii U Smash Bros. game and use it as a controller.

This game is massive. It has many characters to unlock (which will take you time). Only complaint is the odd control of pressing up to jump instead of pressing a button. But once you get used to it, the game is very fun. I can't wait how this game integrates itself with the WiiU version.

I've been a fan of the smash brothers series since it was released on N64. These games always fail to disappoint and this incarnation is no different. You have pretty much every character that was in past games except for Snake and Ice Climbers and you also have a lot of new ones added with a total of 55 characters. If you love Super Smash Brothers or you love brawler games then this is a must have for you.

I purchased the new 3DS mostly for the nostalgic factor. This game was a no brainer. After playing Smash Bros on the N64 and Gamecube growing up, it just made sense to get this one. It was a pleasant surprise to see just how much content is on this game. Great graphics, gameplay and experience. Only downside is the lag that sometimes comes with playing online. Overall, a must buy for 3DS owners.

    Portable Smash Bros.

Smash bros. for 3ds is a great addition to the smash bros. series. The game plays surprisingly well for a handheld title. Graphics are great, music is great, and controls are decent. It will feel awkward for anyone who is used to playing smash on the gamecube or wii, but you will get used to it. My biggest gripe with the game comes from the changes made to dodging. You now can dodge infinitely with a small cooldown while dodging in midair. This leads to some serious frustration when trying to combo people you launched into the air. It really feels imbalanced. Another gripe would be playing on such a tiny screen. I don't have a 3ds xl, so anyone without one may have trouble keeping track of their character in 4 player matches. It's anything but gamebreaking, so try the demo first to see if you can manage. Overall, it's a great addition to the smash series and a no brainer for anyone who's a fan of the series.

What's not to like about this game? If you enjoyed super smash bros on the old N64 your for sure to enjoy this portable version with over 30 characters to choose from!! Also this time around you can customize your individual charters that boost attck, agility, or defense and switch put custom special moves for characters. This is a great game to pass the time and a must have for any Nintendo Fan!
