While the later movies got a bit carried away in some aspects. They are still a good watch. The inclusion of the reboot is a nice addition to the series box set. It had been a long time since I had seen them. Now I can check them out whenever I want to watch them.

This DVD contains the "2000 Expanded Edition" of Superman The Movie - which was only shown on TV a few times. Some of the extended scenes are interesting and some are unnecessary. The DVD is numbered "2" so I assume the original film is "1" in another set. There is commentary by Donner and consultant Tom Mankiewicz. Also there is a "music-only track." Superman II is the "Richard Donner" cut that were shot during the first film as they were trying to shoot 2 films at once without anyone knowing. The producers were a bit sneaky but were found out. This has the first screen test of Chris Reeve and Margot Kidder doing the rooftop scene prior to Superman flying Lois. Reeve has not bulked up and looks like a tall but non muscular Clark. Special features include Donner introduction, commentary, a short called "Restoring the Vision," and deleted scenes. Superman III and IV are the poor cousins to I and II but the discs have producer commentary, making of 3 and deleted scenes. Then we have Superman Returns which needs a review all by itself. Parts of it are grand and parts are almost distasteful and director Bryan Singer just made poor decisions of casting and ends up basically retelling the Lex Luthor land-grab disaster story from the first film. Why couldn't he use another villain or explain Superman's extended disappearance due to an extraterrestrial villain? No special features. I think it is sad WB has done such a poor job recently with their premiere comic character in films.

As pointed out to me at check out it doesn't have the newest Superman movie. However Superman I & 2 never looked so good and these films really make since together as a bundle because Superman Returns was done in the same spirit as the originals having many nods to the originals including borrowed lines. It was fun to relive these classics; Gene Hackman is Lex Luthor!

Movie falls in line with the historical Superman legend, however it appears a little dark from what I expected. It tends to "rewrite" my original understanding of the "Man of Steel" from the decades of previous movies, comic books, and television series. This Superman is less "Americanized" in my point of view, but nonetheless pursues the ideal in his attempt to do what is good and right regardless of circumstances. Without revealing the plot, I can say that the movie posseses all the characteristics of a good superhero movie with excellent special effects that magnify the intense emotional burden borne by all beings possessing such power. Seeing no other recourse, in the end, the hero does what he has to do.

Bought these to revisit the older films for a good price. If you have a blu ray player it is almost impossible to distinguish these standard dvd versions from a blu ray when your player upscales them for you. I didn't want to spend extra on blu ray but wanted to have the older classics on hand for the occasional view. Loved the first two films as a kid and am head deep in the current DCEU rollout as I love the DC characters despite the critics seeming to be in collusion to poison its success. I am hoping to pick up the classic Wonder Woman series in a similar combined set for a good price too!

The five disc set is a phenomenal buy for any Superman fan. I mainly bought the set for 1 and 2 and the criminally underrated Superman Returns. Even though the special effects of the earlier installments do not hold up compared to today's CGI effects, both Donner and Singer's versions show a much more nuanced Man of Steel than the updated version.

I am a Superman fan. I love all the movies. I got them for a pretty good deal and I’m glad Best Buy had them. I had been looking for the complete saga everywhere. They had them for a decent price too.

This is the perfect collection of the Superman/Christopher Reeves movies. Whether you are a fan of The Man Of Steel or a fan of Christopher Reeves this is a great addition to any movie collection.

I love 80s movies and these are some of the best. The first two are great and the third is insanely funny. The fact that Richard Pryor fought Superman is funny enough, but everything about it is next level bonkers.

This was a secret Santa gift for a co-worker. He loved his gift and has watched all the films! May get one for myself.

It is nice to have a good old fashion DVD sometimes, based on a time when things were simplier and life before Marvel Comics took over the cinema. All Five Movies represent an accurate depiction of the movie that was shown in the movie theatre, with the exception of II, because the movie here is the Donner cut, which is longer.

The first one is by far the best. Christopher Reeves is wonderful as Clark Kent/Superman. The others are forgettable. The 5th film isn't really bad. Brandon Routh does an ok job as Superman, but he doesn't really make the part his own. He copies Reeves performance to much to really make his mark as the Man of Steel.

GOT THIS 5 PK AT A GREAT DEAL. IT HAS THE BETTER OF THE FIRST SUPERMAN MOVIE AND THE DONNER VERSION ALSO. NOT ONLY WOULD RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND BUT I BOUGHT ANOTHER FOR A FRIEND AS A GIFT.

I've been looking for the original Superman and just happened to stumble across this set. I would have preferred to have had it on Blu-ray, but as a 5 movie Superman set for $11 you just can't beat the price. I'm reviewing the set and not the other Superman movies...which were not that great...Just Sayin'

If you like Superman, this is a great one to have. Or, if you're new to it, this is also a great introduction to a classic. Have fun watching!

If you're in the mood for classic Superman, this disc is very handy to have the five original movies all in one place. Love that it's on one disc and saves space.

Awesome super hero collection! Contains all 4 Christopher Reeve films, plus the one with Brandon Roth.

Ordered this for my grandpa and it’s really great. The packaging is also nicer than the Batman one.
