Let me start by saying this is my second swann system, first one was a 720p 4 channel system, lasted only 2 years. I decided after some research to try the 4980 with 8 cameras..decent reviews...well....it’s been only 6 months and it’s the worst. Two cameras are totally gone and the play back is almost none existent...the cameras are digital zoom....very pixelated. This set up took two days to install and when it was up and running in the first month it was unbelievable. Now I learned from past set up to get the warranty, but now I have to spend more time and effort to get this back up and running. Why can’t swann get things together, they’ve been around for a while, fix the app and make a system that’s worth the 600$ you pay, come on...I will never get another swann and will never recommend them to anyone...I think the reviews on this site are false and misleading....too bad because it seemed like they may have gotten it together....will try a lorex or another brand

Not even 2 years yet and the cameras are already starting to fail. The quality is set at the highest for the picture that I uploaded.

I have installed professional grade cameras well more than 3x the cost of these. These cameras were an upgrade for my parents home who are not tech savvy. Not only are these excellent quality, the setup and options are amazing. As an upgrade from a previous model the connectivity on their mobile device is significantly improved and they are very pleased.

This system comes with everything needed for installation/setup. The installation was fairly easy considering the number of wires. The picture quality, motion sensing and night vision surpass our expectations. I would recommend this system to someone looking for a hard-wired security camera system.

I purchased the 4980 Pro Series Swann DVR to replace an older Swann model. Although some reviews indicated issues with this setup, especially the Home View App, I found this model to be higher than expected quality and very easy to set up. I unhooked my old Swann DVR and just connected the wires to the new one, using my existing cameras, and then followed the instructions to download the Home View App and I was done in less than an hour. The picture quality even with my old cameras is excellent. It's been about a month with no problems and I'm extremely happy with this Swann product. I'm looking forward to changing out the old cameras to the new 5mp cameras which should provide super clarity. I'd recommend this Swann DVR to any do it yourselfer. The new Swann DVR's have improved immensely and I'm glad I chose to stick with Swann.

These cameras are great, good quality, paired it with a 4K tv and the clarity is amazing. Night vision is clear.

Great cameras & design. Very easy to set up. Picture quality is great. Wish they had audio, but for the price I can't complain. May add microphones later. Wish Swann would include a doorbell camera with 2 way audio in these sets. Then it would be complete. Great purchase & much needed peace of mind.

Quality of equipment is good. Choosing the angle/position of camera view leaves a lot to be desired Quality of picture on TV is good. Quality of picture on App leaves a lot to be desired. Wiring/cords provided were plenty to cover my business from front to back, which isnt a small space by anymeans. Overall decent, may upgrade in the future.

I was referred to this product myself. After seeing the system in use, I went ahead and gave it a try myself. I was not disappointed, as it was super simple to set up and use. I like it so much at my business, that I am going to be purchasing one for my house now.

Great system for the money. Cameras are clear. Night vision is also better than my old system. The only thing that would have been better would have been to include maybe 2 of the cables longer than 60’. Had to buy the 100’ cables to reach 2 places around my house. 75’ cables would have worked.

Easy to install clear picture massive hard drive for storages to save images the Home-Safe View app work great able to retrieve images and look at footage when I want.

Good quality cameras for the price. The app to view when you are not home works good. Definitely better than our old system.

I purchased this set for my son for his birthday. IT IS AWESOME! Much better than what I expected. I have Swann Security cameras at my home that I purchased several years ago.. THis set is so awesome I am considering changing mine out to this one. The color and clearness of the cameras are amazing. You did great. I highly recommend getting this set if you are wanting security cameras. And the price was much less than expected . Thanks Best Buy and Swann.

After running my camera system with wires I didn’t realize that there wasn’t any sound. That was one of my main reasons to put the system in.
