I gotta say this is a huge upgrade from switch 1 hardware with what seems like a powerful nvidia apu and 12gb ram. Switch had 3gb ram for games and it did wonders so this has gotta do much more. The screen is really nice and vibrant, yes oled panels are nicer but I honestly don’t mind LCD panels. The design is gorgeous and it is comfortable to hold for hours on end. At this price point it is a pretty powerful hybrid console and I can’t complain much about it! I primarily play in handheld mode unless I’m playing something like Mario kart or Mario party with family. So far I have played cyberpunk which looks and plays super smooth compared to my steam deck and I prefer this over steamdeck any day of the week. Mario kart looks great and crisp, Zelda botw and Totk, links awakening look so crisp and the framerate is solid 60. I just wish we had more launch games but I’m patiently waiting for Donkey Kong bananza which looks insane. Overall the system at launch has solid hardware and software is clean and the games so far are great and love that switch 1 games some upgraded and those that aren’t load faster and have solid framerates. I’m curious to see how this generation will be. I’m wondering if Nintendo will introduce the Switch 2 Lite and Switch 2 Oled in a few years or maybe even a stronger version of Switch 2, idk. I highly recommend the switch 2 even though there is bit of a wait for new switch 2 exclusive games to come out.

Even though I mainly play just pokemon games, this is a perfect pair for the Legends Z-A performance wise. It is very smooth. Load times are snappy. Screen responsiveness is smooth. The OLED screen was enough for me, but sure, extra real state for the eyes, I’ll take it. Oh, and it never got bulkier than I thought. It’s battery hungry for sure, but I like that they put an extra USB C on top of the console so you can plug it in a portable battery pack, no need to dock it, while playing table top.

Nintendo Switch 2 – The Hybrid Console, Evolved

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a refined and more powerful version of its predecessor. It keeps the hybrid design we love—play at home or on the go—but upgrades nearly everything else. It features a stunning 8-inch OLED screen, redesigned Joy-Cons, and a major performance boost thanks to a new NVIDIA chip with DLSS upscaling. Games look sharper, load faster, and run smoother, especially in docked mode where many hit 4K. The console supports backward compatibility, so your old games and accessories still work. New titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza show off what the hardware can do. Haven't fully tested battery life just yet, mostly because I play with it at home 99% of the time. One positive thing though, Nintendo's eShop on the Switch 2 feels snappier, pages and items load faster and navigation overall across the store is way better than on the original Switch, kudos to Nintendo for improving on this, this was one of my main complaints with the Switch 1. Overall, a solid upgrade that improves on almost everything. Not revolutionary, but absolutely the best way to experience Nintendo games today.

We are absolutely loving it. Right out of the box, the screen is so much bigger and such a bright, vivid improvement over the original Switch. The new Joy-Cons are bigger and sleeker, and the way they magnetically snap onto the console is really satisfying. It’s quickly evident that the system runs faster and more smoothly. Navigating the eShop and Switch Online apps feels fast and smooth. And the games… the games are gorgeous. We’re finally playing Nintendo in shiny 4K! Switch 1 games even run noticeably better, and the Switch 2 upgrades for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are so beautiful that they immediately feel like whole new games. They look and feel like this was always how they were meant to be played. Onboard storage is only 250GB, but unless you’re moving over eight years’ worth of Switch 1 games, that’ll be more than enough to hold you over until you’re ready to expand. And don’t overlook the excellent Nintendo GameCube app, which is only playable on this console. After eight years (!) with the Switch 1, the Switch 2 is such an instantly appreciable upgrade in every way that it’s a sheer delight from the moment you take it out of the box. We’re having an absolute blast and so is everyone we know. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

A great upgrade but doesn't do much new

I have been very much enjoying the Nintendo Switch 2 as someone who has owned an original Switch since 2017. It upgrades almost every important aspect of the original. Better hardware performance, better build quality, bigger screen, etc. But it doesn't do anything ground breaking or new, but that's okay. The Switch was a massive success so this is obviously made to appeal to Switch 1 owners. If you didn't own or weren't interested in an original Switch than this console isn't for you. Being able to play original switch games without any frame rate issues has added a whole list of new games I want to play/replay. Despite what many others say I think the price point is pretty fair. It's expensive but it is high end performance with a good screen and dock. The steam deck for example is $400 with about the same game performance but does not have detachable joy cons or a dock included. There is some missed potential though. The screen while bright and big, has some minor but noticeable ghosting issues on certain games, and the HDR is weak. Game key cards are a hotly debated topic but I am very disappointing in both the companies using them and Nintendo for making it. I would still rather buy a key card than a digital key as at least I own the license however I still do not own the game. It annoys me because if the normal cards are too expensive, such an obvious solution is to have an "install card" that has the game on a slower, cheaper card but requires an install to internal storage. That way you don't need internet but companies can still have a cheaper option. Some of the shortcomings of the original have also not been fixed. The Ui is still bland with no customization or music, the joy cons are still not ergonomic, and the battery life hasn't improved. I'm happy with it overall though. It's really the upgrade the Switch needed and it will definitely by main way to play games for the foreseeable future.

Nintendo has finally delivered what fans have been requesting for years: a more powerful handheld console. This is the first time the “Switch” concept truly lives up to its ambitious vision. Backward compatibility is a solid feature, though a few minor tweaks could enhance the experience even further. The device feels premium—no longer toy-like, unlike its predecessor. The only downside is battery life, which maxes out at around 2.5 hours in any game. In that regard, the original Switch with the OLED model offered much better endurance.

I was on the fence about getting a console ans missed the pre-order then was frantic when they werw all sold out. I for super lucky worh the small Beat Buy reatock and dis not let it pass me by. I have all 4 switches. The 1, Lite, OLED and now 2. Yhis by far is my favorite just for rhe graphics alone. Its comfortable to hold ans ao fun to play. The battery life was a bit funky but i did the reboot everyone talks about on Tik Tok and havent has a problem. I pive the new Mario Kart World. Its so much fun to play ans can become veey addicting. The peice was a bit stwep but after playing i do geel its worrh it. The only downside is the new license agreement and not being able to purchase Switch 2 physical games but the old cartridges still work on thos console. The graphics arent as sharp on rhe okder games but the quality is still much bwttwr in my opinion.

This is a step up from the original Switch; larger-ish screen, better connected controls scheme, even a faster load time for most games. It’s amazing to play AC: Shadows or Cyberpunk 2077 on a switch and still match the 60fps and VRR as that of a PS5. While it’s not perfect, it’s close to being a awesome good console/portable gaming system. While some switch games aren’t fully backwards compatible (yet); Nintendo did state they are working on those games. But for the price (which is also questionable…), I can see some will be okay with the purchase. Also the SD card, you can not use; you will have to get a SD express card!! For me? It’s a very good console and would love to see its potential further.

We recently purchased the Nintendo Switch 2 from Best Buy during their late night release—and it was more than just a product, it was a milestone moment for our 9-year-old son. He spent the last three years saving every birthday dollar, allowance, and spare change just to buy this system on his own. Watching his face light up as he proudly paid for it himself was unforgettable. The staff at Best Buy were incredibly kind and made the whole experience even more special, treating him like a VIP during the release event. The Switch 2 itself is amazing—sleek, powerful, and packed with features. The performance upgrade is noticeable, and the graphics are stunning. It’s everything he hoped for and more. He’s been carefully unboxing, setting up, and exploring the games with pure joy. Thank you, Nintendo and Best Buy, for helping make a young kid’s dream come true. This wasn’t just a console—it was a reward for years of patience, responsibility, and hard work. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for the next generation of fun!

One month review: I was thoroughly impressed when I got my hands on the Switch 2 on launch day! However, the new games truly convinced me to opt for the newer model. I’ve been a loyal Switch user since the original model in 2017, then transitioned to the OLED model in 2021, and now I’ve got the Switch 2. Of course, I’m delighted with its performance. While the battery life is slightly shorter due to the larger screen, it’s understandable. It’s definitely a bit heavier to carry around, but it’s still an absolute blast to play, especially with Mario Kart World and Cyberpunk 2077.

I absolutely love the switch two. If you loved playing nintendo games on the nintendo switch this second one is worth it because you get a better resolution & frame rate which makes the games feel fresh & BRAND new, it’s such a game changer for nintendo games i haven’t been able to put it down. Games like zelda & splatoon look INCREDIBLE on the new switch two updates & i adore how portable it is especially with the new much more comfortable joycons for split screen in mario kart. Definitely get this console if you plan on playing nintendos switch 2 games for the console.

Now im playing with power! I have had every single nintendo console in my entire life so getting the switch 2 was a no brainer. This console is powerful with the convenience of being handheld. The quality of life improvements are great and noticeable. The magnetic joycons are chef kiss. Bigger screen, faster processing are also a major plus. All the negative trolls out there are just trolls who want to spread high misinformation. I absolutely recommend a switch 2.

Nintendo did a good job of making the switch much more powerful without changing too much when it comes to ergonomics and portability. The screen size is fantastic but the bezels and screen type could be improved upon. Theres a bit of wasted space around the screen itsself which makes it look less sleek. The screen couldve been an oled instead of giving us an lcd, which wouldve also improved upon battery life and given us deeper darker blacks and better contrast. The joycons are larger which make it much more usable for adults. Theyre using the same style analogs which means eventually theyll have an issue with stick drift. Nintendo shouldve changed to TMR or Hall effect analogs to avoid this issue completely. Overall the switch 2 is a must have. Eventually when improved upon it will be a 5/5 product.

Great little handheld game but a bit large for my hands. The dock and controller connection quickly converts this into a table to console. Using it with a 27 inch 4K monitor so everything jumps off the screen. I’ll admit that I’m one to watch television and play games at once. The set up is perfect to play and watch television just to the right. The only issue I have is that this one no longer comes with a browser nor does it have or allow for streaming content to be downloaded. Someone has to keep me quiet in the car.

A Love Letter to Nintendo and the Best Buy Team

I’ve been a Nintendo kid my whole life – from blowing into NES cartridges to camping out for the original Switch – but the Nintendo Switch 2 launch at Best Buy was the first time I actually felt like I was part of a moment. I showed up for the midnight release, coffee in hand, and the energy in line felt like a mini Nintendo convention. The Best Buy staff didn’t just “handle” the crowd, they hyped it with constant updates, answering questions, organizing the line, and somehow keeping everything smooth and friendly even with a store full of half-sleeping, overexcited fans. When I finally got home and unboxed the Switch 2, it honestly made my old Switch feel like a prototype in the best possible way. The 8-inch OLED screen is gorgeous – colors pop, blacks are deep, and handheld games look like they’ve had a remaster just from running on this display. Docked, the new NVIDIA chip and DLSS upscaling let games hit higher resolutions with smoother performance, so titles like Mario Kart World and Pokémon Legends: Z-A look crisp, detailed, and way more “current-gen” than anything I ever saw on my original system. The best part is that it still feels 100% like a Nintendo system. The hybrid design is intact – I can go from the TV to handheld in seconds – but now with better battery life and more power under the hood. My old Switch games carry over and run great, and knowing that my existing library and accessories still work is huge. It feels like Nintendo rewarded long-time fans instead of leaving us behind. I also have to give massive credit to the Best Buy team at the midnight launch. They managed the line fairly, checked preorders efficiently, and even took time to talk to us about bundles, accessories, and protection plans without ever feeling pushy. They clearly knew the product, could speak to the differences between the original Switch and the Switch 2, and made sure everyone walked out with what they actually needed – console, case, screen protector, maybe a Pro Controller – so the night didn’t end with “I’ll figure it out later online,” but with “I’m going straight home to play.” As a die-hard Nintendo fan, this console feels like the payoff for years of loyalty. As a Best Buy customer, that midnight release reminded me why I keep coming back for big launches: organized, knowledgeable, and just as excited as the people in line. If you’re on the fence about upgrading, take it from someone who waited in the cold at midnight: the Switch 2 is absolutely worth it – and Best Buy is the place you want to be when that box finally has your name on it.

I absolutely love my new switch! My fiancee bought this for me for Christmas(: i also have the oled version and can confidently say the screen on the new switch looks just as nice and bright and detailed if not better. The battery life is pretty short, i got about 2.5 hours in handheld mode playing cyberpunk 2077 but you can play while docked or charging. Definitely would carry a power bank if you plan to use this on the go. I love the larger size screen, and new joycons. I bought some joycon grips off amazon that make it MUCH easier to hold while playing in handheld mode and it just feels more natural in the hand especially if you are used to xbox controllers like I am. The storage capacity is Definitely lacking, i filled mine up in only 2 weeks but i did buy several downloaded games. So I'd say Definitely stick to the physical games if you can, definitely buy an express SD card (I got 512gb) you will lose some gb, you never get the full amount advertised, my 512gb express sd card only has 456gb of usable space. Hope this helped someone!

Amazing experience for Family and Adult Gaming

Nintendo Switch 2 has become a truly versatile console for our family. I use it both to play together with my child and on my own, and it works perfectly in every scenario. We often play Mario and Sonic together — both on the TV at home and in handheld mode. The ability to quickly switch between docked and portable play is extremely convenient. During trips and even in the car, my child can keep playing without any complicated setup. As a father and adult gamer, I also really enjoy playing Fallout Shelter directly on the touchscreen, without using Joy-Cons at all. The touch controls feel natural and comfortable, almost like using a tablet, but with better performance and a larger screen. Right after purchase, I applied a screen protector to prevent scratches when docking the console and bought a carrying case with cartridge holders, which makes storage and travel much more convenient. Before the holidays, I also purchased GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and Cyberpunk from Best Buy. The console handles a wide range of games extremely well — from family-friendly titles to full-scale games for adults. Overall, Nintendo Switch 2 offers the perfect balance between family entertainment and serious gaming. One console, many ways to play. I’m very happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.
