For $600 this is a no-brainer purchase. The first thing you’ll notice is how incredibly fast the UI is. Obviously, having Roku built in means it’s dead simple and chock full of streaming options as well. The picture quality is pretty great considering how much this set costs - the excellent local contrast being the standout feature there besides 4K HDR. Some noticeable banding would be my only real complaint about the picture but it’s acceptable for the price point. Bottom line, If you’re in the market for a 4K TV under $1,000, this is the one for you.

I am very happy with the picture. Best Buy's display in Seekonk MA provided for a good comparison against LG, Sharp and some others. The colors definately looked more genuine and the peoples faces provided a good mixture of color so no one was whited out. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was the sound was horrible. You really need a sound bar. At $600 for the TV I would have expected passable sound, but this was just tinny. Fortunately I had a Bose Wave sitting around that I could connect. So you need to expect to add another $200+ to the purchase, which is really not what I wanted to spend on a TV.

This TV is pretty great for the asking price. It's 4k HDR and produces a beautiful picture. I hooked my Nintendo Switch up to it and even though the games aren't 4k or HDR they still look great.
I've got a 4k Blu Ray player and PS4 Pro that support 4k HDR and the picture is just incredible!
Definitely would recommend this if you are looking for an upgrade in technology that is affordable. I have the Best Buy credit card, so I picked this up with 12 month financing. So I only pay $50 a month for a year, no interest, and it's mine.

After MUCH exhaustive research, several independent sites listed this as one of the best 4K TVs under $1,000. I've had it about a month now and it lives up to all the hype. Picture is wonderful. I have an Xbox One X and the graphics on this TV are amazing! Only criticism is that all of the inputs are very close together. I have an Amazon Fire Stick, and its housing is very wide and it al.ost covers up whatever input is beside it. Aside from this one flaw, it is a wonderful TV. The product for the price is absolutely stellar.

Check out the numerous reviews here and elsewhere. Everyone is pretty much in agreement that this is the best TV at this price point and beats out most that are a few hundred more expensive. So far, I have loved the TV. Picture quality is great, especially 4k HDR content. My only complaint at this point in time is there have been some sudden drops of picture quality or the screen going black. I haven't been around to observe this in person, just my girlfriend filling me in, but since my previous TV never had this problem, I think it might be a problem with the TV, will update once I find the root cause.

Great T.V. for the price! Im an avid gamer and movie watcher so color is a big factor for me as well as frame rate. Both are spectacular. Just a weird thing keeps happening where I’ll turn off the T.V. and come back to it a while later and it won’t turn on. Annoyingly, I have to grab a pencil and trigger the reset button in the back and then the TV will turn on. Roku is wonderful. Sound is a little weak so definitely consider adding a soundbar- i did. Again, overall happy with the purchase but need to contact customer service about the oddity with not turning on at times.

Me and my roommate both bought the 55” TCL Roku Tvs. He bought the $400 4K one and I bought this one simply because I was told the difference with this one was that it was equipped with both HDR 10 (for Xbox One S capability) and Dolby Vision HDR. However, once we got home, he plugged his Xbox One in and manually set the HDMI from “auto” to “2.0” he gets the HDR Icon to pop up whenever he uses Netflix or plays NBA 2K17 or Gears of War 4 except he bought the TCL 4K $400 “55” and I bought the $600 and I couldn’t tell you the difference.

The picture is crisp and looks amazing, but my Vizio SB3820 2.0 soundbar gets very bad pops and drops while hooked up via optical.
After contacting support and having a tech come out to repair the TV, I was told that the TV was "incompatible" with my Vizio soundbar. They then refused to assist me further.
Their support is also directly insulting. Multiple times they called me by the wrong gender, even though I had corrected them. They also would not update my name in their system when they used the wrong gender spelling, even though I had asked them to. Very disappointing.

I am very pleased with the purchase and support. I called support to see about a setting which I could not find. They pointed me in right direction and solved issue. Just have to make sure you are using HDMI 2.0 to get full effect. Default is auto which most often goes to 1080p, not 4k. Looking to purchase another smaller TCL for sitting room.

I did my homework before buying this TV a month ago. We are very happy with it. As the reviews told us, the view from side angles is not ideal but it's not a problem with just two of us watching it most of the time. We love the picture and the Roku remote is intuitive and easy to use, and getting it setup through our wifi was super easy. We love being able to watch YouTube on it. A great value for the money.

TCL TVs have come a long way and seem to be getting better. Screen is great, watching fast sports sction is good also. Sound has been reviewed as not so good in the past but this tv's sound is fine. My ears are not the greatest after 28 years working around noisy aircraft, but I do not need to turn the volume up any more than usual. Great buy.

This is one of the best TVs I have had. Spent a lot of time researching and decided to go with this one and I am happy I did. When watching planet earth show the sun was so bright I had to close my eyes. Was debating on this one versus a Sony one and decided to try it. Very happy with it

A Truly SMART TV

This 4k TV is packed with features at a fantastic price. While the picture is great, the gem in the whole package is the ROKU environment. There are smart TVs and there are SMART TVs. The ROKU environment simplifies the need of switching inputs by integrating it into their Home/channel's concept where you find all your apps as well as other devices and settings. Seamless and beautifully simple!

My son picked it out after extensive searches of reviews. At first, I didn't want to pay that amount for a TV but realized I need some nice things too. I'm glad I did. Everything is so clean and crisp. It's like being right there. Extremely happy. :-)

I picked this TV up after reading rave reviews online and I'm glad I did. Black levels are deep, colors are vibrant and the Roku built in is faster than our Roku 4. It doesn't do 3D but I don't care for 3D anyway. If much rather have HDR; it really makes 4K pop. There are plenty of reviews online that explain this panel's features (local dimming, HDR) in great detail if your interested.
The short version - if your looking for a 55" 4K TV you'd have to pay about twice as much to do better than this one.

This tv has great features that rival those of a more expensive tv. I bought this for gaming mostly, which look fantastic, even without a PS4 pro or Xbox one x. The software upscale from a bluray movie with HDR looks incredible. I will soon upgrade the accompanying hardware to 4k capable to complement even more this great t.v..

So this doesn't compare to my Samsung QLED, but these are very different price ranges. For the money it is an excellent TV. I absolutely love the built in roku. I also love there's a phone app to control it including turning it on and off. I loved it so much I also got the 43 inch version for our bedroom. If you're like me with no cable box/other devices it also looks much better hanging up because the only cord you may see is for power since there's no need for a roku or other streaming device

If you’re expecting fancy motion-smoothing and sharpening processes from this 4K TV, you’ll be disappointed, but I always disable those proprietary processes anyway because they make motion less natural, not more. What you get from this set is rich color, super-sharp UHD, and a big screen for a reasonable price. The Roku interface is intuitive and sleek. At this price, I have no complaints. Can’t speak to the sound because we’re using an LG 5.1 soundbar with satellite speakers.

Had this TV about a week now and it definitely lives up to the hype behind it. I was impressed by the 4K Dolby Vision streaming from the AppleTV 4K. Details pop like I never thought possible. Then I used the free THX optimizer app and that made everything better. Colors are realistic. Blacks are as deep as you can get without going OLED. watching a 720p baseball game is even a treat!
