After a while screen starts pixelated
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has great image quality with deep dark. However that didn't last even a year for me. After few months of purchase different colors started popping up on top of other colors. I'll return this TV. Should have gone with brand like Samsung or LG.

Suffered What I Learned Is A Common Problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 3 years getting black screen, but have audio. A COMMON PROBLEM according to the number of complaints I've seen online. (I did do research before making this purchase.) Tried all of the tricks: A)Clearing Cache (home button 5x, up button 1x. Rewind button 2x, fast fwd button 2x B)Unplugging for 30 secs C)Unplugging for 5 min D)Unplugging all external components and reconnecting Nothing Worked Is probably issue with the LED strips, but that's too daunting of a task for this mama. My thought is just to never buy a TCL TV again. Live and learn.

I liked it but.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first TV had a big line in the top right corner. Returned it and got a new one. Had the second TV for two weeks and one of the pixels burned out. Not impressed returned it and got my money back. Spend the extra money and buy a brand name TV.

Had to be repaired within a year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is alright. I appreciate the apps all on my tv, but it had to be repaired within a year of purchasing it. It was a headache to handle. Never had a tv break ever. It’s working fine now, prolly wouldn’t recommend

Great but didn't turn on after 2 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV was great when it was working. We didn't setup cable but ROKU and the other available apps were great. Compatible with a sound bar. Unfortunately, after 2 months, it completely stopped worked - wouldn't even turn on.

Great TV while it lasts
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture. Cheap. Having both, HDR and Dolby Vision, is a plus. The Roku experience is excellent. My problem is the board controlling the backlight has already blown requiring me to get a new TV.

Got a lemon!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyers beware! Make sure you get geek squad or some kind of warranty, because some of these TVs motherboards like to go out and then you’re screwed! My screen would turn on blank (white or grey) after 10 months but not too frequently, and I would use the reset workaround for about another year until it just quit for good. Obviously beyond the pretty standard 1 year manufacturers warranty. Best budget TV in terms of picture quality when it works. Apparently others have had the same issue, guess it’s why they’re sold cheap, no QA. Get a warranty!

2nd time is a charm?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd TCL 55” Roku tv in 5 weeks. The first unexpectedly shutoff while viewing. Here is hoping the replacement lasts quite a bit longer. I will update my review after a few months of solid service.

Good tv for price
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a good budget tv, unfortunately my HDR didn’t work correctly. On he bright side bc of geek squad warranty i ended getting it switched out with a larger better tcl.

Don’t buy it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dark corners and dirty screen effect. This is all you will notice a week after you get it. Also it has issues playing 4K content from my PC. It does not seem able to do 4K 60fps and HDR at the same time.

Good tv for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent tv for the money, my only complaint would be the glare in a bright room and picture quality drastically degrades from the side. You have to be dead center for a good picture.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture and quality of this TV is excellent. The HDR, however, seems way to dark and washed out most of the time. Tried every setting I've found online nothing seems to fix it

It’s good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a good beginner 4K. It always looks great on the showroom, but BBB and Dish don’t broadcast in 4K so very seldom do we get to see the differences with our other TVs.

Solid TV, but dont expect samsung quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid TV and roku is great. Picture quality is solid, especially with a straight viewing angle. But dont buy thinking its a samsung qled competitor. For the price its good

Posted .Glad you’re enjoying the TV. Interestingly, professional reviewers have placed the picture quality of this set amongst the best available. CNET even called it the “best non-OLED 55” TV”. Hopefully some fine tuning and great 4k content will reveal to you the potential of this set! Thanks, TCL USA Support

TV completely died after 3 years. Avoid TCL
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this back to go with my Xbox One X launch in November 2017. Was impressed at first with the reviews and what was packaged for the cost. I enjoyed the tv and it worked great for awhile, but the blacks never looked that great to me and there was definitely some spotting in my screen as time went on, which started to frustrate me. Important: Not even 4 years after purchasing it. The power supply board or something else just completely died on me. I've never had a TV just crap out like this before. I called their customer support and they basically said "Sorry. Electronics do fail". So now I'm out to buy a new tv with money I don't have. What I've learned from this experience. 1. I'll never give TCL my money again 2. Whatever brand I buy, I'll be buying an extended warranty

After just over a year, TV is acting up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV about 18 months ago and it was working great up until about a month ago. I now must perform a daily ritual of unplugging the TV, plugging it back in, and starting it up between 10 to 15 times before I get any video. When I first turn it on for the day I get a black screen. Everything else appears to be working, and I can even hear the menu sounds when I push the buttons on the remote, just not the video. I contacted TCL support only to be told that there is nothing I can do to fix this issue. When I inquired where to take it for repair, they told me that they do not have that information, and that it would be best to "ask friends and family" instead. Googling repair shops was a fruitless endeavor as well, so I'm not going to even bother with repair at this point. I'm going to toss this TV in the trash where it belongs, and go out and buy another brand that prizes quality and customer service over peddling garbage to undercut the competition.

already malfunctioning after 4 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv four months ago. The picture is great. A week or so ago it started having issues. It freezes when its powering off and the only way to shut it off is too unplug it. Now it's saying there are no channels when your trying to watch via the antenna. It freezes and restarts itself. Also, there have been times when netflix or other apps don't work because it says there is no space. (there is plenty of space) The only way I've been able to work around that was to restart it again. I bought geeksquad protection and will be contacting them next. But I'm super disappointed that I have to do that already.

Horrible Picture Quality and Remote Sucks
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the Roku TV due to decent reviews and not needing to buy a streaming device with my new TV. Over the course of using it for movies and tv shows the picture quality is horrible. The colors are not bright, when the scene on the TV is dark it is essential all black with no details. Thank god for audio or I would have no idea what is occurring in these scenes. I hate watching TV on it and this is my living room TV. In addition the quality of the remote is horrible it loses connection constantly at least once a month. And every blue moon it will not be able to repair itself back to the TV. I even bought a new remote under a year ago thinking it was dropped or something. But nope just their quality sucks. I will never buy another TCL or Roku TV. Save your money and get a Sony, Samsung, or LG.
