Dollar for dollar the best TV

This isn't the best TV in the world, but it is the best TV you can buy for $600 or less. No matter what you do, the blacks will over saturate, but that is my only complaint, the color is vibrant, and input lag is and motion blur are minimal and the viewing angles are better than you would expect. Great buy.

Right out of the box it’s a winner. At this price it is scary good. Dolby Vision and HDR 10 is just another plus. Roku tv is just a pleasure to use. Don’t hesitate to buy this tv. You will be very happy every time you turn it on.

To have 4K and HDR (including Dolby Vision) at this price is amazing. The picture quality is OK. For example, viewing angles are poor and the corners appear darker on most scenes. Some darker scenes were really too dark in a bright room. However, in a darker room, the picture quality issues were not that prominent. The Roku OS is really nice to have and easy to use, and the TV does support HDMI ARC, so that you can use the TV remote to control an attached sounder. For this price, this is a great TV.

Read lots of reviews and 75% of them were accurate. This television delivers on price, picture quality and build quality. It has as good a picture as the LG at 1/3 of the price. The sound is never that great with these televisions so buy a sound bar.

Did a lot of research before purchasing this tv. I also research different models of this brand. The color and pictures quality is even better then expect. The price was really what sold me too. I didn't have to spend a lot of money for an excellent tv.

Best Value proposition on the market

The TCL P series has one of the best value propositions on the market. I researched TVs extensively before buying and boiled my search down to the TCL P series, the Vizio P series, and the Sony XBR900. The Vizio was only slightly better at almost doable the price. And the XBR was the best but much more. I decided on this TV for two reasons. I know I want an OLED TV when they drop in price, so I will hold off on paying more than a thousand on a TV when I can get an OLED. for now, this TV is sufficiently future proof, with support for DOLBY and a slew of important features that I will be happy enough. At a comfortable $600 at the time of this writing, the TCL is packed with a ton of features seen more commonly on models twice it's price. The contrast is great, the roku is just an added bonus. One thing I will say is DO NOT shop for a 4k TV. This is a 4K TV yes, and it looks great. But 4k should be just one of your shopping criteria (and not even the most important). As of this writing, I can safely say 4k won't be a defining attribute of your viewing experience. Features like HDR and local dimming contribute much more to a great picture. This TV comes with those features and executes them well.

You won't find a better picture for the price, TCL killed it with this TV. It maybe doesn't look "premium" but the picture screams quality.

After reading through the reviews for this TV online as well as user reviews here and on Amazon, I was very excited to get my hands on one of these sets. After having it for a few days, I must say it's all been true. This TV is awesome! Great picture and perfect for gaming and movies. The sound is better than I thought it would be as well. If you don't have a large budget and want a quality set, this is a no-brainer. A+ for TCL!

Great for a 4k gaming monitor. Very low input lag. This tv supports both HDR10 and Dolby vision with 72 local zones of dimming. Honestly the features seen on this tv rival that of more expensive high-end 4k Tv's.

For the price it's a great set for a upgrade. I bought this for the eventual purchase of the Xbox X. After watching Netflix and some YouTube vids in 4k the difference is astounding.

    Decent gaming TV

Written after 2 weeks of owning. Good (very good) blacks, responsive menu, sound is clear and volume is loud when set at halfway point. Decent picture settings out of the box. (But I am not picky, hence 5 stars). Used mostly as screen for gaming (via HDMI from PC), but also used for Netflix, youtube, and Roku. All work well, intuitive behavior. One annoyance was that pressing (*) on some Netflix screens will activate an persistent info box, without any warning on how to remove. (Eventually figured out that this happens if (*) is pressed on the movie description screen). HDR/Vision10 gaming options activate (Mass effect Andromeda, MEA) with the tv connected to PC. No noticeable gameplay lag. Some issues with image syncing during gaming: when going from a windowed mode on my computer monitor to full screen mode on the TCL, there is severe flashing of green on the tv. To fix, I must go into the game MEA settings and toggle the full screen refresh rate (e.g. from 60Hz to 30Hz, or from 30Hz to 60Hz). Then the flashing issues disappear, until the next time I toggle window mode on the pc. Using HDMI 3, which has ARC, gives the option on PC to route PC audio through the TV speakers. Lacks picture-in-picture function. No web browser. Wifi connection works well, responsive with YouTube 4k clips. 4k not tested with Netflix. Annoying ads with the free channels (Roku, tubi, etc.) Roku phone app works well. Can send tv audio to phone, and from phone to a wireless headset, no apparent delay. Voice search on app also works fine. TV remote works fine. No dead or stuck pixels that I can see. Depending on the image/movie scene, "clouds" of light (from backlight) might be perceptible at some times from corners of the TV screen. I find the effect minor/ negligible. List price was ~$600.

Beautiful TV, getting both Dolby Vision and HDR10 for $599 is a great price. Only Con is you have to point the remote at the TV (not a radio signal) and if you have a sound bar in front of the TV it can block the remote.

Alternatively titled, the perfect budget 4K TV! It really does a lot more than it's price point would suggest. Really beautiful colors, a good deepness to everything. It also has the lowest refresh rate of any TV of this caliber meaning low input lag for all your gaming needs! I wasn't sure if I should upgrade to a 4K tv but after having this TV for a few days, I know I made the right choice!

Title says it all. Really happy with this tv so far. Upgraded from a pretty decent 40” HDTV I’d had for years that has so far always been a good set to me, but I just felt that I needed something a little more bit more suitable for my home theater/game room ever since I have gotten a little more serious about building an above-average audio setup that itself seems to be a project of mine that has taken on a life of its own, and so I finally got the surround sound to a point that I felt that it was about time that the picture quality needed to at least be a little more on par with the sound quality. I did quite a bit of in-depth research over the course of several weeks/a couple of months, and although my ultimate goal was and still is to eventually get a very nice OLED set that still probably won’t be one from the top tier since I’m definitely more passionate about the audio side of my build, I just do not currently have the right infrastructure to properly support a tv of that size and technological level. I had narrowed my search down to this TCL or either the Vizio M series or P series. After reading all the stats and pouring over tons of both professional and average consumer reviews and going back and rereading them all again and again, I hesitantly felt that I had made up my mind as to which one I was going to get. I will admit, I was prettt anxious at first about going with TCL, especially since I had absolutely zero experience with any of their products and no knowledge of who they are as a company, whereas I have plenty of hands-on time with many Vizio products that all have left me at the very least not at all unsatisfied with their performance if not downright impressed. So far, though, I have to say that I am very happy with my purchase! I really love the built-in Roku platform a lot more that I had thought I would even though I already have a stand-alone Roku player, it’s just the convenience of having it already built into the tv so that I don’t have to reach for another remote. And the picture and features are very much top notch in my book, and even more so when you figure how much this tv costs compared to all the others out there that cost hundreds of dollars more than this one and only give you the exact same quality and feature sets (if not actually less features and slightly worse quality). All in all, I am VERY happy with my new tv and would definitely both recommend this same one to all my friends as well as go back and buy it all over again if I had to!

Firstly, I was very worried about to purchase a TV with the brand name of TCL. BUT it was the best decision that I ever made for any purchases for electronic devices. It is very sharp and clear quality for watching all aspects of media. Should go for it.

very happy, good brightness, good black levels, and excellent roku platform built into the tv, i would also go to the extent to recommend for a living room or home theater room television if you are upgrading from a 2+ year old set that was 52" or smaller due to the high quality of this particular model.
