High refresh rate, but not for all 3 HDMI ports

I watch a lot of fast sports, like hockey and football, so I wanted something with a fast refresh rate. While this tv supports up to 144hz, it's important to know that only one of the three HDMI ports supports that speed. The second HDMI supports only up to 120mz, and the third HDMI only supports 60hz. So you will need to be strategic in what you plug into each HDMI port. Equally important to knowing what to plug into each HDMI port: make sure you have both ethernet and HDMI cables that are rated high enough to handle the faster speeds. It made an obvious difference in the refresh rate ability. For example, before upgraded my cables, when a hockey puck traveled at speed, it would blur; same with a thrown football. Another thing to remember is to choose the correct type of display speed. I have mine set to "sports" mode for everything. Anything other than that isn't as bright and crisp for my liking. I have horrible eyesight, so brighter is better for me. I do like the brightness overall, and with the upgraded cables, streaming sports much clearer than my old setup. The only problem I have is that the ESPN app likes to freeze up, which it rarely did on my previous Samsung TV. You definitely notice a lack of clarity on some cable channels, but I'm assuming that's the fault of the broadcasting company, not the TV, because my sports stuff has excellent clarity.

Amazing TV for this price point, if you can nab it on sale go ahead. My only complaint, its not the best out of the box but any online calibration should do the trick. The OS is seamless and leagues better than Samsung's Tizen. Very good build quality. Speakers could be better but not the worst. Also, something to watch ouy got this didn't bother me, there is a small silver-ish metal part on the side of the TV that reads out QD-Mini LED.

TV is great at this price point! Bright enough to look good in a sunny living room. Picture is super clear. Local dimming looks good and doesn't have a lot of blooming. The remote it comes with is extremely comfortable in the hand and easy to use. Would definitely recommend this TV to anyone looking for a mid range setup that still performs really well. The speakers on the rear sound good. Was using a Vizio soundbar previously, but now just using the built in sound.

This was a tv i picked up for a temporary tv at a rented beachiuse that had a small 15 year old tv. Boy what an impressive tv. Im generally an OLED guy, but i am blown away at this tv’s pucture quality. The inky blacks are there, the detail is there , game mode is excellent as well. Just absolutely impressed wirh this tv. The price is also exceptional. Way to go TCL!

After months worth of looking for the perfect 55 inch TV under a $1000 I decided to go with TCL. If you're looking for a TV for console gaming you can't go wrong with this one. It has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. The picture looks amazing for the price, you just have to dial in a few settings to your liking. This does have a built in subwoofer and is honestly on the better side of things audio wise but it still won't beat out a decent sound system. The only cons to this TV is that it is a Google TV, and it takes a little getting used navigating the menus. There's also pixels that will either be too bright or dark when in game mode, but this is a prevalent issue on even higher end TVs. Considering the unit I have is only a single pixel it's something I can look past.

This thing is awesome for the money. I use it mainly as a PC monitor but I watch a variety of different content on it, such as Youtube videos and games. Perhaps the most impressive thing about it is that it doesn't do anything particularly poorly. 0 issues as a monitor, runs at 144hz without a hiccup, VRR works as it should in games, and the TV's OS is snappy when making adjustments. Even the viewing angle is pretty good for a VA panel. Picture quality is excellent, and the screen is clean and uniform especially for an LED TV (at least the panel I got). It's an all-around good performer that doesn't really have any annoying quirks to speak of (so far). It does everything well and works like it's supposed to. Keep this up TCL.

Purchased this TV for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. The picture quality is very clear and vibrant and the sound from the speakers are very clear. TCL has definitely come along way and are now to me working towards competing against some of the more higher end companies. I have the Samsung SD90 OLED 83" and a TCL QM8 75" and I must say I really love my TCL over the Samsung. For the price you can't beat the TCL.

While the TV itself has an amazing picture, there is a problem with the remote, first of poorly laid out and such a delay between pushing the button and the action being taken. Also you push a button looking for home page, first the settings diagram comes up second push gives you a different page, takes three pushes for the home page to finally show up. Just one of many problems with the remote, i cant think that it was designed this way, am going to see if another remote is available, this one has to be broken, cant believe it was designed this way.

Very good picture quality. Love the 120hz feature for my PS5 and a port for my Xbox so I get the full experience. Sound is just as good as a speaker bar setup. Nice and bright comparable to premium QLEDs on the market.

I picked up the TCL 55” QLED TV a few weeks ago, and honestly, I’m super impressed. The picture quality is amazing — colors are bright and vivid, and the 4K resolution makes everything look super sharp. Whether I’m watching movies, streaming shows, or playing games, it all looks great. Setup was super easy too. It took just a few minutes to get everything connected and ready to go. The built-in smart features are super convenient — I didn’t even need to plug in a streaming device. All my apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ were ready to go. Sound is solid for a flat-screen TV, though I added a soundbar for a little extra punch. But even without it, the audio is clear and gets the job done. Overall, this TV feels like a steal for what you get. Great picture, easy to use, and a nice size for a living room or bedroom. Definitely recommend if you want a solid upgrade without spending a fortune.

Huge upgrade from a 2001 S4 series! Purchased this tv for my midsized apartment. Bright screen, xbox series x graphics are great, reflection is not a huge issue, no laggy bugs with google tv, set up is quick if you have a google account. Front firing speakers with Okyno subwoofer provides decent sound for my simple living room, if placing in a larger living room could use a sound bar. Out of the box calibration is great with some minor adjustments to YOUR viewing pleasure. Looking foward to the college football season, although Dish only produces a 1080i picture at 60hz, so use HDMI 3 for any cable boxes. Got this at the $499 price, can't complain. Highly recommend getting this when it goes on sale again for that price.

Our new TCL 55QM7 is a beautiful set. The vivid picture is bright, crisp, detailed and a joy to watch. We chose it over a similar Hisense cos of the longer life span. With my tech son-in-law's help we can go through Source to Xfinity (our cpoontinuing TV box) and get all its channels + our taped shows, so we have the best of both worlds. Glad about that since Google TV doesn't carry college football and only minimal pro football. Price was very reasonable, setup took a while with minimal instructions, Very happy after 2 weeks

I have this in the bedroom. It is a very bright TV so I had to really decrease the brightness because it stays on all night. That kinda took away the really great picture but don't feel like tweaking to make it better. The sound on this is great though, no soundbar needed.

An excellent upgrade over our previous Philips TV. The Google TV system is very responsive, but may degrade over time with many apps installed. Only time will tell about the potential degredation but for now it's great! The 144 hz VRR HDMI port is great for PC gaming or just having 120 hz for modern consoles (e.g. Xbox series X/S and PS5) is fantastic and looks phenomenal for either use case. For around $500 this is a great bang for the buck TV.

This TV offers an exceptional viewing and gaming experience at an excellent price. The mini LED display isn’t quite as premium as OLED, but you cannot beat the display quality at this price point. Gaming provides an immersive, beautiful experience at a smooth 60fps. I haven’t tried 4K gaming at a higher frame rate, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that performed exceptionally well also. Overall, you can’t beat the visuals for the price.

This TV is absolutely incredible for the price point. It’s a fantastic gaming TV, it’s incredibly responsive, the sound without any soundbars is way above most tv’s and the color/hdr capabilities are gorgeous. OLED tv’s look good at first, but the burn in is real and horrible. Stick with these TCL QD mini-LED tv’s and you won’t be disappointed!
