Picture Quality Questionable

Why doesn’t the TV have an exceptional picture quality out of the box? I’m so confused, I would have returned but it would have been my 3rd TV.

Never buy again

Slow to respond to controller commands. Google interferes and comes on interrupting programming if it even remotely hears something on the tv that seems like "Hey Google". I would never buy this product again. Nice picture quality is the only positive note I can give.

Not what i expected

Go into the stores and see for yourself. Its a nice tv and i do recommend buying but only on sale price. Just save up the extra hundred and get a better quality picture. 3 stars for a upgrade on a general tv

Inability to stay connected to WiFi

Troubleshooted with both TCL, Best Buy and Verizon (WiFi provider) and couldn’t fix. Also got a replacement and had the same issue.

Very competitive with OLED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This TV is wonderful for applications where OLED burn in may be a concern. The colors are vibrant and dark scenes are probably the next best thing compared to OLED counterparts. I have zero regrets. Watching tv at night with dark scenes is a much better experience with QDMiniLEDs and local dimming technology. HDR is also SUPERB. While in the store the differences between OLED and QD-MiniLed was not that much noticeable under Best Buy lighting conditions. The trade off for deeper darks is possible halo like lighting on bright sections (perfect compromise for darks and price point). I actually came to the store to purchase a LG B5 OLED due to price but this TCL was just bright in comparison plus I already have a LG C5 which is great and wanted something for the bedroom that could tackle different lighting conditions. Don’t regret it! Sound quality is superb as well! It can however be a hit or miss with low volume such as when you’re trying to not disturb others at night. Some setting changes may be required for your preference. I noticed that with low volume it can either sound very low with sudden too loud moments. The tv is responsive. The UI is pleasant to interact with.

Everything I hoped for and more.

Granted it’s not surround anymore, it’s so loud and clear compared to the old system that I would rather have 2.1 with atmos than 5.2. It’s such a bright screen though, thankfully you can control all those settings otherwise, it can be like having the sun in your room.
