I have to say this has been one of the better TVs that I've bought the last few years mini LED super clear. The volume on this TV is great as well. And as far as setting it up through Google this is my first Google operating TV and it's pretty simple Great remote backlit. So far so good

Great Picture, Strong Performance, Excellent Value

The TCL QM7 is a very solid TV with excellent performance for the price. The picture quality stands out with impressive brightness and strong contrast. It’s not going to match OLED in terms of black levels or pixel-level precision, but the high brightness makes up for that in most environments. Especially in bright rooms, this TV really shines.
The 65-inch model includes 1006 local dimming zones, which is a standout feature in this price range. It also uses a true 10-bit panel, rather than relying on 8-bit with frame rate control (FRC). That means more accurate color reproduction and better overall image clarity. HDR content looks vibrant and impactful, especially when streaming.
The Google TV interface is fast and responsive, and the remote is surprisingly premium with a good build quality and backlighting. While TCL’s picture settings layout isn’t as intuitive as Hisense, it still gets the job done once you’re familiar with it.
In terms of picture performance, I’d say the QM7 sits right between the Hisense U7N and U8N. It’s roughly on par with the U8K I’ve used and clearly a step up from the U7N in overall image quality. If you’re comparing it to the QM7K, the QM7 still has the edge in brightness and conteast and comes in at a lower price, though the QM7K does have slightly better viewing angles.
The TCL QM8 is definitely the better TV in every way, but it also costs quite a bit more. Unless you’re watching a lot of UHD Blu-rays or doing side-by-side comparisons, most people won’t notice a huge difference during regular streaming and everyday use. In fact, even side by side, streaming content and conpanring the picture you would be hard pressed to differentiate the two.
The QM7 is also a fantastic option for gamers. It supports up to 144Hz on HDMI 1 and 120Hz on HDMI 2 making it a great match for the PS5, Xbox Series X or a high-end gaming PC. It includes features like VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), and a dedicated Game Mode that reduces input lag significantly. The response time is snappy, and Dolby Vision Gaming is supported at 60Hz for titles that use it. While the built-in Game Bar isn’t as flashy or detailed as some other brands, the core features are here and they work well. For the price, it’s one of the most capable gaming TVs you can buy in this tier.
Audio is decent for built-in speakers, though like most modern TVs, it pairs best with a soundbar. It includes 2 downfiring 10 watt speakers and a built in 20 watt subwoofer. It’s definitely a step up from typical tv speakers and it’s definitely passable if you’re not an audio file.
At the $649 price point, the QM7 offers outstanding value. You’re getting a mini-LED display, high dimming zone count, wide color support, and a true 10-bit panel, all wrapped in a sleek and responsive smart platform. It’s a strong all-around performer that punches well above its price.

After less than year and a half with not frequent use, and no damage or accident, a vertical red line just appeared. This was my second time trying to buy this tv and first one came with a broken screen so had to return it and got a new one of the same kind. Tried to buy a decent tv that could last at least 2 or 3 years and trusted TCL. Not buying this brand again

The picture was beautiful for the first three weeks until it became jittery and unwatchable one day. Since I was a My Best Buy Plus member, I was able to return it easily. This TCL TV was a disappointment for me, so I replaced it with an LG OLED TV that I am very satisfied with.

The TCL QM7 is one of the best budget-friendly mini LED TVs you can get right now. It punches way above its price with great brightness, solid gaming features, and strong overall picture quality.
Pros
Mini LED panel gives excellent contrast and brightness for both daytime and dark room viewing
Colors are vibrant and HDR pops thanks to high peak brightness
Supports 120Hz refresh rate with HDMI 2.1 ports so gaming on PS5 or Xbox Series X feels smooth and responsive
Google TV interface is fast and has all the apps you need
Local dimming is impressive for this price range and helps with deeper blacks
Cons
Off angle viewing is just okay so colors and contrast fade if you are not sitting directly in front
Speakers are average so you will want a soundbar for the best experience
Some blooming is visible in very dark scenes with subtitles or bright highlights
Bottom line
The TCL QM7 is a great choice if you want premium features without paying premium prices. It is bright fast and packed with everything most people need for movies gaming and sports. Hard to beat in its class.

I bought this 65” TCL Mini Led TV yesterday on sale for $699. It is an incredible tv. Setup was easy. Coming from a 10 year old 4K Samsung tv to this is like night and day. The detail and brightness is amazing. Dolby Vision IQ using the Apple TV 4K is a sight to be seen. And games on the PS5 are excellent. The integrated game menu allows you to fine tune your settings for the best picture and refresh rate. Our son asked if we’re hooking up a sound bar. I told him we don’t need it. It has an integrated Onkyo 2.1 sound system with built in subwoofer and it is loud and clear. You could buy one of the bigger name tv’s, but this has the same features at a lower price point. Buy this TV!!!

The picture quality is outstanding in HDR10, DolbyVision, IMAX enhanced, etc. This TV is compatible with them all. Equally impressive is the Onkyo speakers and sub. All of the Dolby standards are supported. We moved from a 2017 Sony Bravia XR that finally kicked the bucket, where we had to turn the volume up to 40+ sometimes to hear voices (clear voice was turned on). With this TV we are watching at 10 - 12 and voices are clear, highs and lows in action scenes is excellent, our Yamaha soundbar and sub are not getting much action these days. Go take a look at this TV and the Hisense U7. Big difference is this TV is brighter with more nits resulting in silky dark blacks. We skipped on getting another Sony, this TV is that good. The Best Buy salesperson said this was his 2nd favorite TV behind the Hisense. I reviewed a ton before deciding on this TV. The amount of customization available and features made my short list. I calibrated it using settings recommended on rtings.com. Everything we watch looks and sounds fantastic. I highly recommend it. Did I mention this is the official TV brand of the NFL? Yep! Gotta love the fast frame rates plus support for 144Hz for gaming.

Setup: 5-Stars
- light enough to setup alone, though 2 make for faster install
- as plug and play as any smart device can be
- a few screen prompts and I was watching the game
Image Quality: 5-Stars
- clear and crisp image right out of the box
- image was so sharp that it almost felt artificial. It was like going from vhs to Blu-ray.
UI: 4.5-Stars
- highly functional ui
- easy to navigate
- snappy response to remote inputs
- slight learning curve if you are accustomed to other UIs
Sound: 4.5-Stars (by TV standards) 3.75 (by home theater standards)
- Really good sound all in all
- Some of the best TV audio I've heard
- the tv is prone to being impacted by source audio volumes so platforms to platform or video to video could require audio adjustments up or down. I think there may be a normalizing feature but I haven't tried it yet.
- a dedicated Surround sound setup would be a superior option for best listening experience
Remote: 5-Stars
- laid out well
- easy to operate
-feature rich
Price: 5-Stars

Have had the tv for over a year now and still works amazingly. Blacks are truely black, bright enough to watch with direct sunlight shining through the windows and the speaker quality is actually better than the soundbar I had with my old TV.

The first one was delivered and was damaged in shipping with a cracked screen. The second one, however, looks to be great. More importantly, the television itself is pretty outstanding. It gets ridiculously bright, has great color, and the screen gets inky black as long as you have the correct brightness settings. I also have an LG OLED and this thing gets brighter than it and the blacks are nearly as dark -- though there is a slight bit of blooming visible in a dark room.

I own a samsung 50 inch. Wanted better quality display, with a sub $1k budget. I was very skeptical about TCL build quality but eventually settled on the Q7 as it was on a steep discount.
Ended up with the 65inch QM7 and am extremely impressed. The picture quality is noticeably better and a decent margin, even to the average eye. Blacks are very dark, closest to OLED i have personally seen. TV remote could be a bit shorter, also who uses pluto tv? they must be paying TCL quite a bit to have their button on the remote lol.
Had to mess around with color a bit.
Pros: Display (very sharp, colorful), very bright, sounds better than i thought a tv would, build quality seems high from initial 2 weeks of watching/ using.
Cons: Remote could be cooler, glare (though i live in a glass box apt and it is easily manageable)

Great TV at a Great value, has a lot of features for the price, if you can get these tcl TVs on sale it’s a steal. Requires minimal calibration out of the box to get the colors correct, and the sound is decent without a bar/woofer as is. I had not used this OS and was hesitant as I’ve already got so many different smart services in the house, but it was pretty seamless and easy to migrate every account. The OS is also snappy and without too many annoying ads. If the TV holds up for a few years I’ll be happy to buy another panel from TCL
