I have been living with the new TCL 98QM7K 98" TV that I picked up during Black Friday for 50% off, for a couple of weeks, and I have so many different things that I have observed. (retail $3,999.99 – purchased for $1,999.99) First is the TCL is massive! I had a Samsung 82UN8000 from 2019 in my theater room for the last six years. Two years ago, I added an Epson 2350 4k projector with a 100” screen. Generally, I install my own TVs, but when I purchased the TCL from Best Buy, installation was included. The Best Buy installers did a great job. The only problem we ran into was the TV would not fit down my basement stairs initially. I had to remove the null post and railing for the TV’s box to make the turn into the basement. Once downstairs there was no problem with the installation. The QM7K Mini LED series from TCL is the third one from the top-of-the-line QM9K. The QM7K was highly regarded at last years CES for it’s deep blacks and vibrant colors. Upscaling from 720p and 1080P is very good, whether it is from Blu Ray, cable or streaming. With 144 Hz refresh rate this TV is outstanding for Gaming with very little motion lag. Ultra 4K Blu Ray looks stunning with all details you would expect. Streaming from TCL’s Google OS is very clear and shows very little motion blur. When viewing YouTube in 4K the picture looks great. Streaming from my Roku Premier is again stunning with deep blacks and colors that pop regardless of the app! But this is where I found a bit of a quality outlier when using the Apple Tv 4K. The nice thing about the Apple TV is it upscales everything to 4K and in Dolby Vision. Wow does the picture jumps out of the screen! So now all the concent that I view from my Apple TV is upscaled to Dolby Vision! One crazy thing that the 98” TV can do is display four simultaneous 48” screens at once from the NFL package on YouTube. One of the things that I have read about the newest TCL line up, is they are taking picture quality seriously and aiming for the big dogs like Samsung, LG and Sony. The processing is not at Sony’s level, but TCL as well as Hisense is giving the big three a run for their money, and reviewers are noticing. Rtings provided a glowing review as one of the best budget TVs. Outside of OLED these are the best blacks I have ever seen, rivaling my old Panasonic VT60 Plasma. I have always tried to stay with the current established TV brands like Sony, Samsung and LG for quality of picture and reliability. But remember back in the day, it was Sony, Panasonic and Pioneer that were the top tier. LG (Lucky Goldstar) and Samsung were the budget brands that flooded the market with affordable TVs until they knocked them off their pedestals. TCL and Hisense have done exactly what LG and Samsung did in the 80’s and the 90’s. Affordable TVs with outstanding specs and pictures. As for reliability, we’ll have to wait and see. As for TCL, I have always recommended them to friends and family who were in search of a good budget TV with Roku or Google operating systems. But these new TCLs and Hisense TVs are a force to be reckoned with.

I absolutely love this TV. The picture quality is outstanding, with excellent brightness, deep contrast, and very vibrant colors. The 98-inch size is impressive and truly transforms the living room into a home theater experience. I use it mainly for movies, streaming, and sports, and everything looks amazing. The image is sharp, smooth, and very immersive. Setup was straightforward and the Google TV interface works great. Overall, this TV exceeded my expectations. I’m very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a large, high-quality TV.

This is a great TV. I was on the fence just like you but am glad I made the purchase! Pros: Beautiful picture. For a 98 inch tv the picture is bright and vibrant. All of the modern features made for the ultimate theatrical experience at home. Sound is good for a tv but just about any $200 soundbar will be better. Cons: Google TV is slow and clunky. Not a fan of the ads and you can’t customize the dashboard. Throw a Roku ultra or Apple TV on it and its amazing.

I moved into a big house and I wanted to splurge on myself. Fell in love with this TV, but not for four grand. Next thing I know it’s on sale and I found an open box in excellent shape. With free installation! Had to pull the trigger on it. Don’t regret it at all. This thing is absolutely huge. It is a piece of real estate. I know there are different levels, the. 6, 7, and 8, and this is the seven. I am completely in love with it. The 8 was $1000 more. There’s a lot that I could do with $1000 after i already have a TV. The only thing is, I am trying to get used to the menu. I had a Sony for over 10 years and was used to that menu and this is a big difference. Everything is still here, just in different places. Would be great if the industry got their act together and put everything in the same place like we have in cars. But I have no regrets at all. Sound quality is just a TV speaker, what can I say? So of course I got a really good sound system for output. Which means I had to get a really good Blu-ray player. But that’s fine, this stuff will last a while.

I recently got the TCL 98” Mini LED TV and all I can say is — wow. This thing is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment Best Buy installed and mounted it (and they did an incredible job, by the way), I was blown away. It takes up the whole wall and looks stunning — like something out of a luxury showroom. What really stands out to me is the brightness. It’s insanely bright — brighter than the OLED we had before — and it completely lights up the room, even during the day. The picture quality and colors are just gorgeous. Everything looks ultra-sharp and vibrant, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everything buttery smooth. I also love that it has Apple HomeKit and AirPlay built-in. It connects flawlessly with all my Apple gear, which makes it super convenient and easy to use. Honestly, it feels like a steal. We got it at Best Buy for $1600 less than what Nebraska Furniture Mart was charging at the exact same time. Huge win. For the size, features, and overall performance, this TV is probably worth even more than what we paid. If you’re thinking about it — just do it. You won’t regret it. This TV is a showstopper.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible TV – Worth Every Penny! I picked up the TCL QM7K 98” and honestly… it’s a game changer. The sheer size is jaw-dropping, but what really blew me away is the picture quality. The colors are vibrant, the brightness is insane (even in daylight), and the motion is buttery smooth for sports and gaming. Watching movies feels like having my own theater at home. Gaming on PS5 in 4K 120Hz looks unreal – no lag, no blur, just pure immersion. The built-in Google TV runs super smooth, and I love that I can stream everything without needing extra devices. Sound is surprisingly good for a TV this size, but I paired it with my sound system and now it’s like a full-blown cinema experience. If you’ve been debating between going with a projector or a massive TV, trust me – this TCL delivers the best of both worlds. Big, bright, and crystal clear. Everyone who’s come over has been stunned. Definitely one of the best tech purchases I’ve ever made. Highly recommend!

Overall I’m very happy with the purchase. It definitely is a lot of bang for the buck. Super bright. More than enough for a sun soaked room. To get close to the optimal picture requires a bit of tuning the settings but it’s not too complicated, and a quick search online will give you a good baseline. Be prepared to change the display modes when moving between different types of programming and media. The remote is a little on the cheap feeling side for such an impressive TV. The sound quality is decent for a flat TV.

I love how big the tv is. I needed a new tv so I decided to go with this one. The Geek Squad installed it to the tv. They were very informative about position. The quality of the tv is amazing. Vibrant colors and crisp images. I’ve hooked up my PS5 and gameplay looks great as well. Sound is great by itself. I did have a sound bar and subwoofer already so I added it to enhance the sound.

This thing after a little calibration is in OLED territory. Blacks are deep black. Colors pop. 98” works great in my theater space.

So far so good!! I still can’t believe how big this TV is! The picture is perfect. The colors are great. I don’t think I could ask for anything better! Set up with a breeze the remote is back lit. If you’re thinking about getting a large TV, this is definitely the way to go. Especially at this price you can’t go wrong. I highly recommend it

I went for the upgrade in SIZE from a 77" OLED LG to this. I moved the 77" to a different room and have this 98" for the living room. IF this was a straight exchange... I might have stuck with OLED. BUT this is a great option for upgrading in size. Quality did go down every so slightly. Is a brighter overall TV. And reflections are kind of bad, but as long as its dark or no lights glaring on it - it's just fine. Overall love the TV and was a great purchase. Anyone looking to upgrade and scared to move from OLED down to this... I think you'll be happy. I am also sitting 16ft away from my tv, so for myself - this was the better move for my living situated

Wow! What a great tv! I sit about 9.5 feet Way from this ginormous screen and it legit is like being in a theater. The contrast is excellent, gaming is awesome, sound is really good for a TV (but still no replacement for a good home theater setup), and the remote is backlit. What is there not to like? Would give 10 stars.

The TCL QM7K offers great picture quality. It is extremely bright and very enjoyable to watch content on. I think the speakers are good for tv speakers not good speakers but good for tvs. The tv speakers don’t really matter at this price point you should have a sound system

The TCL QM7K works very well in bright light as well as a darkened room. The Google OS allows me to use the apps that I like and get rid of the apps I won't use. Although with it mounted to a brick wall the sound quality isn't as great as the picture quality.

Until recently TCL as a brand was a complete unknown to me not being on my radar. I was accustomed to brands like Sony, LG, Samsung, etc. I consider myself a very particular person when it comes to TVs and technology overall. I had a 65” LG OLED tv that needed replacing and my wife bought me this 98” TCL QM7k TV for Father’s Day. I already have a 106” high end electric screen and a high end 4k projector that we use for movie nights that comes down directly in front of my wall mounted TV, but now we find ourselves watching movies on this beautiful TV instead, even during daylight hours! I paid over $4,000 for my 65” LG OLED and can say I am completely blown away that this TV costing a bit less, with 33 inches more viewing area, and a Bang & Olufsen speaker system is as good as it is. Feed this TV a clean Dolby Vision or HDR10+ signal and be prepared to be Blown Away! OLED who???? If you have the space do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this 98” colossal TV ❤️

This thing is amazing. I was a little apprehensive about TCL being a newer brand, but I am very pleased with the picture, sound, and most of all, the user friendliness of the remote and guides. I would (and have) recommend this tv and brand to any one of my family and friends. The sales person, Rose was exceptionally helpful as well, Not pushy, like other place are. I own a 65 oled TV C4 LG and this 98 inch TCLQM7k is fantastic. Picture is perfect. Check out the picture I put out of black no grey is showing through. Perfect black looks just like my OLED just way larger maybe too large but my daughter is obsessed with it. Thank you TCL. Just wish the TCL protection plans was cheaper too expensive for them and a little louder sound that’s it.

Absolutely amazing picture quality, colors are gorgeous and I’m not epileptic but when that thing flashes it’s so intense I almost cease. Would 100,000,000% recommend this and the size is absolutely crazy. Basically a movie screen! Must buy! The picture in the review shows a 65” tv in front of the 98” it’s a HUGE difference Sound is also amazing, better than the soundbar we had for our 65” tv

Great tv with amazing color and picture quality.The size was a bit overwhelming but easy to get used to since it replaced an 85". It fit perfectly in the area we had set for it and if anyone thinking about purchasing this 98" tv you really need to spend the extra money and buy the heavy duty wall mount. It's well worth the money. We mounted our 85" under the 98" and use it as a monitor to see the front of the house. Works great!
