I just purchased this Tenet 4K HDR disk from Best Buy. The movie is a lot of fun, with great plot and action. I really enjoyed it. Additionally, the quality of the 4K and HDR was awesome! One of the coolest parts was during most action sequences where the screen ratio went from ~2.4:1 (typ gray bars on top/bottom for theater presentation on 16:9 TV) to IMAX screen ratio (1.78:1, or fills the 16:9 screen). This is in the theatrical presentation. Note that this is NOT on the digital version of the movie, which is included in the purchase. Fun!

My Tenet Review on 4K HD Blu-ray

I was hoping for a great movie experience especially by the acclaimed director Christopher Nolan the director of the Dark Knight Series, this is good but not great by that I mean like a lot of others who's reviews I have read the story is somewhat confusing and no way near as good as it should be. I waited to see this at home and avoided theatres where it was released during the height of the pandemic and was expecting better and felt this movie could be a lot better.

    Good mind-bender

Good movie. I liked the mind-bending plot. I was drawn to how much this movie makes you think and pay attention to what's going on. This is the type of movie that you will want to sit through multiple times so you can pick up on more each time. The acting, sound, and special effects are all good. My only complaint is that some of the secondary characters are not introduced very well. Some of them just kind of pop in with little to no explanation, leaving you more confused than the already convoluted plot is intending you to be.

Another Nolan Hit With a Killer Sound Mix

I loved everything about this movie. It's a completely original movie with an excellent sound mix (even if it is only 5.1 surround) and excellent 4k transfer with a little grain. I know some people hated the dialogue level and couldn't hear some of the characters speaking but I didn't have an issue. And the sound mix was heavy with base and it was fully immersive. It sounded better than most Atmos mixes I hear from any Disney/Marvel movies. Nolan killed it again and was probably my favorite movie of 2020.

Worth a watch for Nolan fans

First half moves very fast and is a little bit tough to follow. Second half the movie is much more accessible and exciting. As some have pointed out, the sound mixing made dialogue difficult to understand in a few scenes. Fortunately, Nolan does an excellent job of showing more than telling, so missing a line or two won't ruin the experience. Overall, if you're a fan of other Nolan films, then this is definitely worth a watch. As usual, the picture and audio quality of the 4k blu ray disk format was outstanding!

Saw this in 70MM when it came out in the theaters Fall 2020. Have to say I enjoyed it even more on video. First off, the 4K HDR transfer/picture is fabulous. Is it 70MM awesome? No, but nothing is. Second, as opposed to the theater, one can turn on the English subtitles, which I HIGHLY recommend due to the dialogue being difficult to make out (director Nolan is infamous for shaky dialogue audibility). Anyway, solid if flawed film (3rd act a bit muddled) but well worth having in one's film library.

First off, "Tenet" is grandly entertaining and much like Nolan's other works, a spectacle begging to be seen on the biggest screen possible. In this sense, "Tenet" really works. From it's opening scene and throughout it really delivers on the action and spectacle. Like other works written by Nolan, the film is awfully preposterous but still amazing cinema. As for this 4K release, it's one outstanding presentation. One of the best looking discs out on the market. It's visually resplendent.

First, the 4k disk picture is one of the best I've seen and I own over 110 4k blurays. Now for the story ; this will be one of the strangest films you'll ever see. The scenes go forward and then backwards within seconds. This also may be the best film Robert Pattinson has ever acted in. The casting and direction, regardless of how strange the film seems, is almost perfect. They don't make films like this often enough. You may not like this film but you'll never forget it.

One of the reviews says not to understand too much about the logic behind but just to enjoy it as a spy movie; I think that's true. You do not need to understand every details of the logic. It is a spy movie as the director describes in the commentary. Twisted but they are all well linked. Some people says you need to watch it twice or more, but if you are not a physics teacher or not pursuing Nobel prize, you can simply enjoy the movie.

Won’t be reviewing the actual movie here, but the quality of the disc itself. The picture & sound on this 4k blu ray is stunning. It’s a native 4k transfer, and with the right player & tv, it’s a demo-worthy disc. The picture is sharp, colors are accurate. The sound is also great, the DTS soundtrack truly shines. Pick this one up.

Watch with subtitles for better understanding

Intriguing mind bender! Basic understanding of the movie is easy, but to understand the nuances, you need to really put that thinking cap on and do some googling afterwards. My best piece of advice is to watch with subtitles on, so you can focus on the details and not worry about deciphering the words spoken, especially in the latter half of the movie.

Tenet on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is well put together. Truly dazzling picture and sound, and a really good documentary are the highlights. As for the movie itself - the acting is top notch, the effects are astonishing (especially since, as per the documentary, most of the FX were done in camera), and the action is my favorite part of this movie, but the story was a little tricky to follow. I will be giving it a second viewing to see if it clears up.

Another First Class Film From Christopher Nolan

This is one of the best films I saw in 2020, but it's also one of the very hardest films to understand. It requires multiple viewings and I would strongly recommend watching the bonus materials included on the disc to get what Christopher Nolan had in mind when he wrote and directed the film. Viewing on 4K will make you appreciate Christopher Nolan's vision much more.

This is a non-stop action packed movie, that will confuse most people who watch it. Most people have to watch it a couple times to understand what is going on. It is also the loudest movie i have ever watched, I had to turn it down about 10db lower than my normal listening volume. The soundtrack is awesome throughout and you will be enveloped in sound if you have a soundbar or stereo speakers. It is not Atmos, but the 5.1 is awesome still.

Great film! However, it's not for those with short attention spans. This isn't some mindless 90 minute popcorn flick. Like other films directed by Christopher Nolan (such as Inception and Interstellar), it may take more than one viewing for some to truly grasp the entire story. The 4K Blu-ray looks great and the bonus features are entertaining as well.

Okay, so on hearing mixed reviews on Tenet I went in not knowing truly what to expect. Ilon viewing i can say that it is AWESOME. Once they outline the premise and how the mechanics of the film work you just go with it. The visuals are stunning! If you have a pretty nice home theater system its going to rock your world. The LFE are some of the most intense that I've ever heard and felt. It will vibrate and shake the house.

I have been a great fan of Chris Nolan's film. He's one of those directors that delivers. This film is not an exception. Very good video presentation and as always, Nolan prefers only 5.1 mix in all his movies which for me is a let down. When watoa movie half of it is visual and half is sound. Nevertheless, still GA very good twisted film that deserves a second or third watch for you to fully understand the story.

This film was very ambitious and follows a complicated plot line. There is a great deal going on and you have to pay close attention to all the details and conversations. The film requires you to think. I found it entertaining in a thinking person, sci-fi action kind of way. The 4K Blu-ray has an outstanding picture and audio track, and I enjoyed the special effects. It may require more than one viewing to completely understand the plot.

I have all Nolan's movies in blu-ray. He is one of the most creative director's today. Tenet , while good and thought provoking is not one of his best films. It uses some of the creative energy of Inception and weaves it into a spy thriller with a plot line difficult to follow. There are some great action sequences to be sure but a lot of rabbit hole plot lines too. I am not sorry I got the blu ray since even mediocre Nolan is worth owning.

Excellent directing by Christopher Nolan. John David Washington plays a different role than he did in the movie BlacKkKlansman and he pulls it off. Elizabeth Debicki is gorgeous and talented. I have seen the movie 3 times now and almost have it figured out. Exciting, never a dull moment. It will keep you thinking all the way through.
