You don't need a PSVR system to play this game, but it is amazing in VR. The music and visuals are extremely good. The Tetris game is your standard play, but on a whole new level.

So it seems like just Tetris at first but you MUST play this in VR once you have the helmet on and the music starts going it's easy to lose your self in a trance while playing Tetris haha

I was an original 1980’s Tetris addict and was excited to see this for VR. It’s SO MUCH FUN! And after all these years was happy to see I still have my touch!

This review might be biased since I'm already a big Tetris fan, but I absolutely love what they did here. The controls and "feel" are very reactive and smooth - doesn't feel like a complete overhaul and redo of this game. The backgrounds and color are pleasant, and doesn't distract you from the game. The sound effects when you're doing well pump you up to keep going! Only messed around with the PSVR portion for a couple hours, but wow - was that amazing! I love the backgrounds in VR mode and just surrounding yourself with the Tetris stages was an experience in itself. Highly recommended for veterans and newbies alike!

Wonderful immersive experience for Tetris players. VR is not necessary to enjoy the game but adds another dimension for a new take on a well-loved classic.

Different effects not just backgrounds, musics, but so the bricks too. Beware, one level has the bricks upside down n buttons reversed lol that can really test ur skills.

If you have the ps be then you owe it to your self to get this game. It’s a great addition to the vr collection and it has truly stunning graphics. A must have for sure.

Tetris alone is already one of the greatest games of all time, and now you can play all its glory in VR! Tetris Effect makes the original game feel fresh and is a beauty to behold.

If you like Tetris at all, you must play this, especially if you own PSVR. It's a unique experience that's fun and entertaining while being calming and almost trance-like.

I'm in my mid 30s. I have been playing Tetris since I was a wee child and it was on the NES and Gameboy. There have been some good Tetris games since then, and some not so good Tetris games since then. This is probably the best since the ground-breaking original. It's like a rhythm game for people for people who are terrible at rhythm games but great at puzzle games. Not all of the levels are my taste in visuals and/or music, but there is enough variety that everyone should find something they really like.

Wanted to try a different version of the Tetris game and this game answered that. Easy to play and hours of interesting gameplay. Glad to have found it.

gorgeous spin on a classic game. it's pretty amazing what they did with a game like Tetris, considering just how simple the boiled-down concept of Tetris really is. love it.

The graphics and music are incredible. I play this both with and without the PSVR headset but I totally recommend it with for the enhanced playing experience.

Takes our old familiar game and pumps new energy into it! Great graphics and ambient/dance tracks (composed for game), plus other new features make it fun to play again.

A relaxing, incredibly fun version of tetris. It's not quite the Grand Master series, but that's not what this version was meant for. If you own PSVR, this is a must.

This game was exactly as advertised and more. A simple twist to Tetris and yet feels like something new and familiar at the same time. Would highly recommend.

If you think this is just Tetris, think again. Only thing I've like to see is some kind of multiplayer mode, even if it's just very simple. Also amazing with PS VR.

This game is tons of fun when playing in VR. The music and effect are truly something to experience. I do wish it had local multiplayer and I think my enthusiasm might dip a little if I had bought this at full price. I bought it on sale for 30$ and feel that is the sweet spot for this game.
