This s an awesome choice for students and professionals alike. This color graphing calculator is the best on the market...it is user friendly ...easy to set-up and understand and a great price!

I needed a calculator that I could use during my college math exams - needed to NOT have Algebraic system. This is the most advanced calculator I could find that didn't have the CAS that was illegal. It has every feature I want or need, although a few of them have to be accessed from a menu instead of a button. I suppose that happens when you build so many features into a device.

Bought this for my son who is a 9th grader and since they use the same one at school, I guess it is becomes easy for the kids to use it at home too.

I bought this for my son, a high school freshman. He needed it for school. I found this one on clearance at BB which was less than other stores.

I purchased this calculator for Calculus and Physics classes in college since it was the one my professors required for class. So far it has been pretty easy to use but I am sure there is a lot more to learn.

This appliance was a great tool for my kids at school. We were able to use it for two kids a few years a part and the quality was great!

A necessity for all math classes in high school. This is my child's second one. Hope this one doesn't come up missing again.

I bought this calculator a month ago for my pre-calculus class, and I have to say, I was impressed. It was easy to use, and I really loved the screen capture feature of the software that was included. It allowed me to take an automatic picture of whatever was on the screen. However, after a couple weeks of use, it would start to freeze (usually in the middle of graphing), and no, I never dropped it, or mistreated it in any way. I had to restart the calculator and do the calculations all over again. Also, the picture shown above is not the same as the actual calculator if you get it from the Best Buy store. Instead of the nice shiny grey background like I expected, I got a weird looking dark grey one. There weren't any color options, the background was default for all T-84 plus silver models. Anyways, the calculations are great, but because of the minor problems, I give it 4 stars.

i bought this for my son and he took it to school and tried to use it and all it did was give him an error message. when I tried to return it...just opened...but after Best Buys 15 return policy....the people at Best Buy gave me a hard time exchanging it for a new one. i bought it a two weeks before school started to make sure my son had a calculator and i didn't have to go from store to store trying to buy one when everyone else was... not the way to go when you are shopping at Best Buy.

Everything you need for upper high school math and calculus. It has multiple functions and applications available for use. Some may say it takes a while to figure out how to use it, but any higher level calculator is going to take some getting used to because of the overwhelming amount of stuff in it. The TI-84 is not as confusing as the TI-89, and it is cheaper. In general I would recommend Texas Instruments for you calculator even if you decide to get a different version because TI's are reliable. It is a little expensive, but well worth your money.

This is a great calculator to get you through HS honors math and physics classes. Also allowed for use in SATs and ACTs and this one comes with prep downloadable work and you can send away for a free booklet. I bought this one in blue. It stands out from everyone else's silver one. I especially like that it tells time. And you can play games like Tetris on it too. Calculators in general shouldn't be this expensive, though. My last one got stolen.

If you are looking for a calculator that is useful for every math and science class, this is the one. I admit that I love the "pretty print" and "CAS" of the TI-89, but the 84 is a user friendly graphing calculator that all high schools I know about use. It is upgradeable so when TI makes improvements you can download them for FREE. The TI-84 Silver has so much memory and built in apps it is out-of-the-box ready to use and can fit all the additional APPS and programs you may want. The SAT/ACT StudyCards are excellent for preparing for those exams. In my classroom I give students additional StudyCard stacks and APPS like Timer (a stopwatch they can use for various experiments). SciTools APP can even be helpful around the kitchen and garage when I forget who many cups are in a pint or whatever.

This is one of the best calculators I have purchased so far! It is a lot better than the ti-84 plus. For only $10 more the sliver edition gives you a lot more features....and i mean A LOT. you will have made a mistake if you buy just the plus and not the silver edition. I strongly recommend reading the instructions and mess around with it for a while because it is more complicated to use if you just got it. Also, unlike the Ti-84 plus, the silver edition will allow you to switch out the plate cover so you can change the color.

This is a very good calculator to buy because it can be used through high school years all the way through college as well. The TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is a very inexpensive number crunching machine lol. Does everything you will do in school and college.

I borrowed this calculator from my brother when I went back to college. I am taking computer engineering and electric/electronic circuits classes and this calculator does everything asked in these classes and I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what this calculator is able to do. As soon as my pell grant arrives I will pick up one for myself.

A lot of you will buy this for your high school (and it carries on to early college) classes, and you know, as cool and more modern as this calculator looks, the TI-83 is just as good, gets the job done, and costs less. Let me warn you, if you are in NY state, in order to take a Regents exam that requires a graphing calculator, the proctors will ERASE the memory and all the programs on your calculator before you take it. It has extra features like the Periodic Table. Now, for college exams, they also clear the calculator, because they do not want any act of cheating. If you have the extra money to spend, go for it. It's chic and nice. Usually in classes, you are not taught all the different shortcuts through the calculator you can use to solve problems (often the teachers/instructors don't even know them), so unless you are planning to take an extensive course load of medium and upper level math courses in college, most features are unnecessary.

This calculator was bought for my daughter that is in 11th grade. I think this will be useful all through college.

I love this calculator it has helped me so much in school and also college. I think it is alot better than the ti-83. It has alot more features. I would recomend it to anyone.

So far so good. I like the features and it works the way I expect it to. The upgrades are nice.

Great calculator. Durable. Does everything I need it to do. I've gone through trig, calc, chem, o chem and stats with this calculator. You can even buy custom parts for it to make it your own style.
