I remember this movie from the early 1970s as a child, and was always entranced by seeing Humphrey Bogart as an alcoholic boat captain, who in his own way becomes enamored with the Spinster Katharine Hepburn, while at the same time, maintaining his course to get her down the river, along with her strong backbone pressing him forward. To clear and consummate actors who portray their characters with such passion and grit, you can’t help but watch their adventure all the way to the end and then you’re surprised by the conclusion. A definite classic for any family movie library that is enamored with weekly family movie nights.

I'm filling out my collection of Humphrey Bogart movies and was glad to get the African Queen at a great price. The chemistry between Bogart and Hepburn makes this movie one of their best. It's also a very interesting story.

It's too bad that they don't make movies like this anymore.

I always heard this was a great movie but never had an chance to watch it. I finally ordered the Blu-ray version and for a movie thats over 50 years old I was blown away by the remastered film. The acting was wonderful as expected by these powerhouse actors. The on-site African filming was beautiful. The extras were light in quantity but that was made up by an exhaustive documentary on the making of this classic.

Packaging was sort of on the heavy side from the weight of all the material that came with the Blu Ray ..I won't go into all the details but to a fan of a classic great movie like this ,everything in this package is well worth the price and destined to be collectables. the restoration was flawless and the color was eye popping . Great movie to watch with your S.O. or the whole family .The extras were great as well. There is a copy of the original radio broadcast included . One of the best of all time .

My all time favorite movie, the clarity of this movie was amazing. Fell in love with Bogey and Hepburn all over again!
