This follow up to the Spider-Man reboot has action, suspense, ties to the original story line, Emma Stone(yeah!) and everything you want in a Super Hero movie. It has only one problem - Andrew Garfield. He is a very effective & entertaining Spider-Man, although he's a bit too skinny. The problem is his Peter Parker. He's too current. We want Peter Parker; the way the comics wrote him; the way the cartoon featured him; the way TOBY played him. Peter never would have said : "How Dare you!..." to uncle Ben. Sorry, no way, never would've happened. He also would not have stood up to Flash in school the way he did before the spider bit him. Now I know these are scenes from the first installment. The problem is...you can't forget them and when he plays off of Emma Stone (yeah!), he's just not Peter Parker. this reminds us about the reason we had a problem with the reboot to begin with. So, IF Mr. Garfield tones down his "I a Millennium kid and that's how I roll" portrayal of Peter Parker for Spider-Man III, he may just capture the audience the way Toby did.

The movie is awesome, of course. I decided to go with this version because I thought my son would enjoy the little comic book that came with it. The comic book is obviously smaller in size, since it comes inside the movie's case, and this is a standard blu-ray-sized case. The comic covers Max's story and stops when Spidey first defeats him with the fire hose. The artwork is nice, and my four-year-old son enjoys it. I'm really happy I bought this version, because the case is just really cool looking. It's very shiny. It folds up, but unlike other cases I've had that fold and then have a cover over them, this one uses magnets to keep it closed and therefore doesn't need a slipcover.

This has a fair storyline, with SUPERB 3D. The acting is a bit sub par compared to some other Marvel films (XMEN, Wolverine, Avengers, etc.) but still holds it's own. This is a must have if you enjoy 3D movies but not the same level of excitement in 2D. As for my other purchase FF6, this is yet another great film in the Fast & Furious series and has some extreme stunts. It is also noted that you should watch the behind the scene's extras AFTER you watch the film. SPOILER ALERT: It is incredible at how many of the actors did their own stunts for most of the film, and how many cars had to be sacrificed to make the movie, definitely worth the time to see the extras and it was nice to have the crew back. Both very good films, to bad the F&F series aren't in 3D =/

I love the Spider-man movies. This one in 3D was just awesome. The 3D was very good. I felt like I could jump into the tv and be a part of it. It really looked as if I was watching it through a window as it was happening outside. The movie had a lot of excitement and action. Just a fun film from beginning to end.

This movie is truly an electrifying blast of explosive action, great humor, and a strong performance from all the actors. This film is a fun joyride that can be enjoyed over and over again. I did buy this movie in 3D and the 3D is fantastic!!

Iam lucky to get my hand to this Best Buy exclusive; cause they all sold out in the stores right away. Like the magno packaging and comes with a comic of the movie.Plus you get your 3D version, 2D version, DVD & Ultraviolet Digital Copy so it's not bad.

What another Spider Man Movie? Yes and it is good enough for even the pickiest Marvel fans to enjoy!

I'm a fan of Spider-man and a fan of comic book movies in general. I feel that this is a good comic book movie.

The case that this Blu Ray comes in is Awesome. Movie and Graphics are amazing

You know what you're getting into. It's a comic book movie. People in tights and costumes leaping around and throwing cars at each other. If you're a kid, or an overgrown adult man-child, you should find this sufficiently entertaining. Emma Stone is cute.

Frustrating because item that arrived is Blu-ray and DVD, but no digital copy as indicated in item description. Will likely be returning this

I avoided this movie for a long time due to poor reviews. When I finally saw it I loved it! Sure, it is over wrought and packed with a lot of plot and characters but this is giant comic book movie making at its best. Dynamic, exciting action set pieces, wonderful character interactions and packed with gorgeous production designs. The eponymous hero is played perfectly by Andrew Garfield with his hilarious playful wit who can then bring dramatic weight when needed. Emma Stone is absolutely adorable as Gwen Stacy and imbues her with a fierce independence and intelligence. The two leads have incredible chemistry together and their relationship is what really makes this and the first film so special. Yes, this might be considered an "over-stuffed" movie (and I can't really argue with that) but there is just so much here to enjoy and revel in that I just don't care. Pick this up with the first film from 2012 and have the two best Spider-Man movies around.

Andrew Garfield has always been my favorite Spiderman. Toby was ok but that last Spiderman was ridiculous. I liked this movie but it could have been better. Jamie Foxx's villain wasn't too convincing nor was Dane DeHaan's. I knew as a fan that Gwen would die in this movie and make way for MJ to come into Peter's life but I think too many people were upset by her death and it made this movie a flop. If you like comics and don't mind a major character death than this movie is pretty good.

I thought it was fairly good, with some good special effects for a marvel movie series. The plot was somewhat disappointing; however, due to the fact that one of the main characters did not make it at the end. The events that led to the demise was somewhat unpredictable, so was the ending. Overall, I think that the finale could have been a little more "upbeat." This was not the case.

These two films came after the Tobey Maguire trilogy of Spiderman. Those films starring Maguire were all shot on film. These were all shot in 4k digital. On blu-ray, they looked great

I was skeptical and actually didn’t watch this movie for the first time until recently. I fell in love with this movie and it’s story arc. Captures Spider-Man better than any other movie. The villains could have been better but overall a great movie. The best way to watch is with this 4K copy. It pops!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a solid follow up. It’s not perfect, but it’s not garbage. It’s a must see for comic book nerds and us casual comic film fans. It’s current discounted price was a no-brainer: I had to add it to my library. Great visuals and sound! Add it to your library today!

I will never understand the hatred this movie has accumulated, not because there are FAR worse superhero films out there, but because The Amazing Spider-man 2 is an honest-to-God outstanding exploration of the themes of abandonment and hope that has fantastic character arcs, stunning action sequences, and a great narrative that's surprisingly complex in its structure. In this sequel to the also-underappreciated "The Amazing Spider-man," Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone return as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, respectively, and, once again, their chemistry lights up every scene with joy, honesty, and love (it doesn't hurt that they were actually dating in real life). Peter is having difficulties adjusting to his life of happiness with Gwen as his girlfriend given that he had promised to honor her dying father, Captain George Stacy (played by Dennis Leary), and his last request to keep her out of his life for fear that she would suffer the violence Peter attracts as Spider-man. Though Gwen believes that it's only her and Peter's decision to be together, Peter is conflicted morally and ethically about continuing their relationship, despite completely loving her. Already, the movie gives us a complex emotional core that isn't going to be simply solved with a bad-guy/good-guy fist fight (it's that complexity which I think most detractors of the film don't like). Alongside the main (no pun intended) thread of the film, Harry Osborn (played outstandingly by Dane Dehaan), Peter's buddy from his childhood returns to New York to run his recently deceased father's business, despite his hatred for the company and for his father's strict, cold upbringing. Harry is dying of a rare genetic disease that will eventually kill him like it did his father and needs Spider-man's blood (for reasons that are well-explained in the film) to save him. This also brings in a fresh set of moral/ethical complications for Peter since the last time he had given someone the key to his genetics, he helped create a monster that terrorized the city. There's also the sub-plot of Peter's Aunt May (Sally Fields) who is struggling both with the finances of their living situation (that Peter tries to help with) and her fear that Peter's dedication to find out more about his parents means that she will be left behind. Peter's narrative arc runs parallel with Harry's desperate search and Max Dillons' (Jamie Foxx) turn from rabid fanboy into supervillain. Mentally unstable and tragically pathetic, Max is a firm believer in the good of Spider-man ever since he was personally saved by the hero, giving him a delusion that he and Spidey are best friends. Due to an accident, Max is turned into a electricity-laden superpowered individual who views Spidey's attempts to stop him as a betrayal for his own personal glory (though this is a far more complicated matter in the film than how I'm explaining it). ALL of those story threads together AND Paul Giamatti delivering a fun, chewing-the-scenery performance as the Russian mobster Alexsi who actually becomes the important narrative bookends for the story that I won't go into here out of spoilers. There are some elements that feel a little off, like the overly-villainous Dr. Kafka, the rather quick ending to Peter's search for his parents, and the underutilization of Felicity Jones as Felicia Hardy, but all of the choices (even the ones that don't entirely "click") are done for the sake of telling the story and character development. I had been unfortunately spoiled on a "big scene" in the film that's an emotional roller-coaster, but the film is so expertly written that, watching it, I felt as though I were experiencing it as freshly as someone who had never seen the film before. This film (moreso than any other superhero film or Spidey movie) portrays Spider-man as the common man's hero. A guy not only willing to foil a robbery or save people from a car crash, but intrigued and happy to talk with the people on the street. The filmmakers show that it's more than his responsibility to protect the citizens of New York - it's his joy. It's also important to note that with the evolution of the series, the character of Peter Parker has become more confident and thoughtful without losing any of the charming every-man quality in the previous film. With more confidence growing up as a man, we also get a Spider-man who FINALLY nails the dramatic/comedic balance that the hero has been synonymous with over the years. Andrew Garfield performs Peter Parker with boundless charisma, enthusiasm, and effortless humor that, if not THE defining iteration of the character, is one of the best realized adaptations of the character in the history of the Spider-man franchise. As clichéd and tired as this sounds, "The Amazing Spider-man 2" lives up to the adjective in its title by being emotional, complex, thrilling, mature, and thought-provoking in a way that we don't see in superhero films, all while showcasing the need for true optimism and hope even in the face of overwhelming despair. To Marc Webb, the crew and cast of the film, the studio execs who took a risk on this material, and everyone who helped get this movie done and into theaters, I say, "Thank you." You've given me the Spider-man film that reminded me why Peter Parker is one of my favorite characters of all time, and why Spider-man is my favorite superhero.
