One of my favorite movies from the early 80s, great storu and soundtrack.

Great quality being in 4k, it is a classic that is even better because of the 4k.

The Blues Brothers has been and always will be my favorite ‘80s comedy. The music is incredible, non-stop laughs with crazy characters that make you want to get up and dance. If you love laughing, watch this movie.

Wonderful music by some of the best performers of their generation tied together by good story. Jake and Elwood Blues are small time, Chicago crooks. The orphanage that raised them is in financial trouble. The Blues brothers recreate their band and take it on the road to raise the money. Carrie Fisher, Henry Gibson, and John Candy are among the obstacles. The script is much better than that synopsis. John Landis’ direction is faultless. (There is even a cameo by a young Stephen Spielberg.). But, you watch this movie for the music. James Brown, Muddy Waters, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway and more contribute production numbers. Aretha almost steals the entire movie with her intense performance of “Respect.” And the band behind Jim Belushi and John Aykroyd is a collection of all star sidemen in its own right. The spectacular car chase through downtown Chicago is nice, too. A lovely, lovely movie.

I bought this movie thinking it was a spin off of Blues Clues. I was pretty disappointed at first but was happy with the movie in the end. They drive a car through a mall, crazy stuff

As much as I love this film, I can’t help but be a little sad when I see John Belushi and think of what could have been. Belushi and Aykroyd together was something truly special.

This movie is as great now as it was when it came out in the theaters. The sound track is phenomenal. I hope there is not a remake and leave the original alone. RIP J.B.
