I really wanted to like this film, but this thing runs wayy too long. Had some cringe moments and the last act is a absolute bore. My son and I had to fight to stay up to finish watching it. After 2 hours, we both just wanted this dang movie to end already. He is under 10 and even he predicted pretty much all the "surprises" and "spoilers" because this movie feel quite formulaic. It's all been done too many times before and i actually kind of the fact that i bought it. The trailer makes it seem SOOO much better than it actually is in my opinion.

The Boy and the Beast was another great anime by Mamoru Hosoda full of fun and entertaining characters as well as an interesting plot. Both the animation and the music were really well done in this movie and the voice actors were all well cast for both the subtitled Japanese version and the English Dubbed version of the movie. This movie is a go to of mine whenever I am in the mood to just sit back and relax while rewatching a favorite and I have probably watched it close to a dozen times since buying it. I look forward to seeing what Mamoru Hosoda comes up with next.

My first anime movie! I liked it a lot and I learned much about Japanese Anime by watching it. Anime is a very special genre niche that I don't think I'll really get used to, but this movie had many lessons to be learned by watching it. As an older adult, I find anime has some time-tested lessons of friendship, respect, and classic Japanese morals. So does this movie.

The story in the film is great with great art. Although there are some flaws. Some of the main characters can get annoying at times. Even though the story is good, it can be a bit slow at times and can be everywhere. However, the positives outweigh the flaws because the story great with a heart warming message.

This is a great anime, the story is awesome. I really enjoyed the movie no spoilers but the ending is very heart touching. Seriously you might cry lol. If you're reading this just click add to cart and thank me later.
