Having already seen this film in the theatre, I am now looking forward to seeing "the rest of the story" as it is presented in the extra Blu-ray features. The inclusion of Hawaii Five-0 actor Daniel Dae Kim in this film makes it of special interest given my own experience as an extra on Hawaii Five-0. His role, although minor, is well played and adds much to the overall story.

Let me start by saying, I am a big fan of this film series and after watching Insurgent, I'm even more of fan right now. Not only is this film an immersive 3D experience but it's a fast-paced, action-packed thrill ride that is even better than Divergent.

It's a great movie and the artwork on this steelbook is amazing! It just pops out a lot and there's so much blue, so it makes it even better since it's my favorite color haha definitely worth the purchase!

Insurgent is the sequel to Divergent. Love the chemistry between Tris and Four, and unlike other movies, they actually get down to business very quickly. Great movie!!!

This film is the action we were waiting for that the first film was setting us up for. Great Stunts and action. Great second outing!

Bought this as a Christmas gift. I know they will love it for movie night for Saturday night viewing.

Let me start by stating that I have not read Insurgent but have read Divergent. I wanted to see Insurgent before reading the second novel in the series. That being said, I loved this movie. Shailene Woodley (Tris) who was quite good in Divergent is even better in the sequel. Tough and vulnerable, self-sacrificing yet angry she is everywoman. She struggles greatly with the weight of her parent's deaths and her own role she has played in harming others. At heart she is Abnegation. Her performance with the truth telling serum pumping through her veins is one of the best scenes in the movie. The second movie takes off right where the first one ended, Tris and Four are taken in by Amity faction but their troubles are far from over. Jeanine, played by Kate Winslet, is on a quest and it is to discover the divergent who can open a mysterious box. Jeanine is intense, pragmatic and selfish. Winslet is the perfect combination of iciness and frustrated leader. Tris and Four are still a winning duo. Sexy, smart, strong and gentle with Tris, Four has his own demons to exercise. This is one area that could have been explored a little more in the film. Also making appearances again are Miles Teller who has a bit of charm and daring and Ansel Elgort as Tris's brother. I found myself drawn much more to Teller's performance than Elgort's. Naomi Watts has a rather interesting role as the leader of the factionless. In some ways she reminds me of Winslet's character, a woman who takes on the world with no apologies. Her performance is spot on. The visual effects are stunning and bold. This is an action packed movie, well-paced with many twists and turns along the way (I do not want to give away any spoilers). Since I had not read the book, I had no idea what was coming and I was surprised several times. I liked this movie right from the start and was completely engrossed in the story. I look forward to the next installment.

Insurgent is an action fueled joyride! Sure, Divergent did not receive the best of reviews. But really, it seemed like the biggest complaints had more to do with the comparisons to Hunger Games franchise instead of its merit as a decent Scifi/Romance. I actually read the book, and felt like Divergent had done a decent job of sticking to the narrative found therein. Insurgent is no different. If you liked the book, you won’t find much to complain about here. Our main heroine is back with the love of her live (Four). This time she has the love of her life from the Fault In Our Stars, and the love of her life from The Spectacular Now to tag along on the adventure. For the most part this works. Miles teller is particularly funny in his comic relief role here similar to the skeptical ways of an early Harrison Ford in Star Wars. Most of the plot in this movie is moving from destination to destination seeking refuge and gaining followers for the revolution. This is largely a set up for the next two films, and that may be disappointing to some. But honestly, what are we expecting from the middle book of the series? Again, it does afine job sticking to the narrative found in the bestselling book. It should finally be noted that there are some pretty amazing special effects as multiple times Tris goes into dream sequences again. It looks like the director is trying to amp up the action from the last film, and is pretty successful in doing so. Any fan of the book series will like this film and see its merit. Anyone who is not a fan of the books will surly have a good time on this action packed ride!

This just makes me wonder why they all aren’t 3D!!! Awesome movie

"It's time we fight back." After Tris (Woodlley) escapes Jeanine (Winslet) and her army of Erudite's she becomes a fugitive. Now forced into hiding Tris and the rest of the Dauntless faction try to start their lives all over. When people begin to die because of her Tris has to decide if its best to stay hidden or to find the truth. This is a movie I was not looking forward to seeing. I have stated many times that this is not a genre I am a fan of. I did admit that the last Hunger Games was fantastic and it made me want to watch the others again to catch up and pay attention this time. After seeing this movie I had the same feeling. This one was much better then Divergent, which is different as most of the middle movies in a series tend to be the weak ones. I can't fully describe why I liked this one so much, and it may have been my low expectations for it, but I was entertained and interested the entire time. I am now actually looking forward to the next one. Overall, fans of the first one will love this one, I thought this was much much better than Divergent. I surprisingly give this a B+.

Seeing this in theaters I was already a fan of the series. The first movie got my feet wet, but after Insurgent I can honestly say they've got a die hard fan with me. The 3D Blu Ray of Insurgent looks AMAZING!!! My wife and I watched this the other night and were both impressed on how crystal clear the picture was and how awesome the 3D aspect was! Not a lot of home 3D blu rays impress us anymore, but this one was for sure one to add to your collection. We have a sound bar as our primary sound source, so you might have to look at other reviews for more specific sound reviews, but with how stunning this looked on our tv, how great the 3D effects were, and the nice amount of special features this set packs, this is absolutely a disc you want to pick up to add to the 3D blu ray library.

I didn't read the books, so I don't have any insight into what happens in the series or in the movies. I watched the first movie about 6 months ago, so it wasn't super fresh in my mind what had happened. I probably should have rewatched the movie or read a quick synopsis about it before watching the sequel because I forgot about all the different groups and who was a part of what. That part is my fault because this was a great movie and have a ton of great special effects. I'm happy I purchased the digital version and didn't just rent it because I'll definitely be watching this again

I love the Insurgent series. I originally had the DVDs and recently purchased the collection on Blu-ray. Now I have found Insurgent in 3D, so I had to add to my stack of the Insurgent discs. This was at a closeout price and very good value. Picture quality and resolution is excellent, as expected and 3-D quality is amazing. This is the way I will watch it from now on, every few years. At my age that reflects some optimism.

I pre-ordered the steelbook copy of Insurgent because I really like how sturdy the steelbooks are and they just look sharp. Some people may think it's silly to spend a little more just because of the packaging, maybe they are right, but I like collecting the whole series in steelbook when it's offered. This one came with 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy versions of the movie. I love when I can get Blu-ray, DVD and digital copies of the movies I collect! I'm not going to get into a big review on the actual movie.. It's a good one though. ;) The second in the Divergent series. Very happy with the purchase.

This is part of the "Divergent" franchise, and a noteworthy installment into that series. It is not a predictable outcome, or a rehash of earlier story lines, but brings a new outcome and was very satisfying to watch. As a DVD, the quality was excellent, and included both 2-D and 3-D versions on separate disks (very nice in the event your DVD player does not have a way to disable 3-D as mine does not). The 3-D effects are used sparingly and only to enhance certain scenes and we found it to be a nice augmentation, rather than centerpiece of the overall visuals.

I like the Divergent series, but what I love is the audio and video quality! Although I don't have a Dolby Atmos enabled receiver (yet), I will say that even in Dolby TrueHD, this is one of the best audio tracks I've heard yet! Incredible bass extension, so much that if you have the gear to really experience this Blu Ray's capabilities then you're in for a real treat! The audio and 3D video is outstanding! Is Dolby Atmos really that much better than Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio? That's still yet to be seen. In this case, heard. Great movie!

There's appealing detail in the 4K release of this Blu-Ray. You can see the pores on some of the actors and also the fabrics worn during the movie pops with the color in HDR. You can definitely tell the difference in the 4K compared to the regular Blu-Ray. Also the audio comes in at Dolby Atmos which if you have a 7.1 sound system is awesome. The audio is 5 stars for this 4K release alone. The movie is really entertaining and captures your attention with the storyline from beginning to end.

I started watching the Divergent films mainly out of boredom. I really didn't expect much from them, as I'm not a huge fan of Shailene Woodley, but the first one sucked me in and didn't let go until the end. Insurgent is definitely a good addition to the series it answered some questions while also bringing up new intriguing ones. I'm curious to see where the next two films take us. Full of action and drama, any Divergent fan should really enjoy this film.
