Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel has everything his movies are loved for: a crackpot cast (welcome back, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, etc.) and a quirky story that often deals with people or places that are down on their luck and need a break. It's also got a decidedly evil underbelly. It's fun to follow, funny to watch, and laced with a few heartfelt moments for good measure.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie but tried to watch it with an open mind - I was not disappointed! Very well done with excellent photography, interesting sound, and a terrific ensemble cast! I managed to find this on sale for only $5 and at that price, it's a steal! I'm delighted to add it to my library and enjoyed it more than I expected. An aging, grandiose old hotel with a zany cast of guests and staff - a thoroughly enjoyable romp! If you haven't seen it, you should! ! !

I loved this film when I saw it in the theater. So when I saw it being offered at BestBuy at a very reasonable price, I immediately bought it! No regrets! I've watched it several times and it never fails to make me laugh, marvel at the beautiful visuals, and appreciate the terrific performances by some of our best film actors and actresses. I highly recommend this film if you want to have a GRAND old time!

I'd give this 5 stars except for the limited amount of extras on the DVD. Granted it's not a Bluray but nevertheless it was all-but stripped down to just the film. That said, the movie itself is great and where it was priced was beyond reasonable considering it's relatively young "age" and won multiple Academy Awards. At least in Wes Anderson's top 3 films made, I'd probably call it 2nd to The Royal Tennenbaum's, which is one of my favorite movies period.

This film was nothing close to what I first envisioned. My husband was excited about this one because he loved "The Life Aquatic of Steve Zissou." (same director) He told me it was really good and I did not believe him because I fell asleep during "The Life Aquatic..." several time and never understood it. I gave "The Grand Budapest Hotel" a chance and throughout the entire film I wanted to know more. I LOVED it. Just a tale of a boy and his hotel. Simple, yet satisfying.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" is a deliciously, ridiculously funny movie. Built around the lobby boy and the hotel manager, a murder mystery, and a creepy family of the deceased, the movie dashes from one scene to the next, situation getting stranger and stranger as the movie goes on. The conclusion is one you don't expect, and the parade of well known actors is very entertaining. A great movie!

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a comedy that's not afraid to break some of the rules of traditional filmmaking and go it's own way. And the gamble pays off as this quirky story from Wes Anderson with a stellar cast presents and solves a missing painting mystery in an original and creative way. The humor is intense as the story unfolds. You'll want to add this feature to your collection!

This film follows a story of a young boy during the 1930's at a ski resort hotel called Grand Budapest. He goes through the hard times and all a cast of quirky characters come in and out over a period of years. It is a film that is broken into parts and shows how the land around the hotel changes from decade to decade. Very moving film that is underrated. It is a fun watch.

The BluRay disk worked fine but the Digital HD Download advertised I could 'Instantly stream and download' the movie to a TV, Computer, Tablet or Smartphone. Yeah, right. If you follow the directions ("3 Easy Steps") you're forced to select a service to download from. If you select Google (my error) you'll find that you can't download the computer to a Mac computer (!!!) - you can only download it to a google chrome or Android computer. So, I was unable to download this movie to add to my iTunes library and the company didn't care to help - emails were returned with 'we're sorry, but...' BS. And once you redeem the movie from one service you can't redeem it from another one. And the services don't tell you if they have limitations (like won't work for Macs, etc.) Don't assume that the Digital download feature will work for you! If you don't need/want digital download don't spend the extra money to get it as it won't necessarily work for you.

Wes Anderson films are always recognizable by their unique tone. Gorgeously filmed in European locations, the plot involves the robbery of a painting, but, like any Anderson film, it's really about his style and sense of humor. The film also features Ralph Fiennes in the kind of extravagantly humorous performance you've never seen him do in films.

I am a huge Wes Anderson fan, so buying this movie was a no-brainer. Every time I think that I've seen his best work, he directs another masterpiece--and Grand Budapest Hotel is simply that! Aside from the incredible acting & art direction, I believe this is easily the funniest of all his movies. If you love Wes Anderson's previous films, you are sure to love this one!

With Supporting actors, Bill Murray, William Defoe, Owen Wilson, who have been in other Wes Anderson's films with the addition of Adrian Brody will leave you with a movie that you won't get out of your head for Weeks!

NEVER SEEN ANOTHER MOVIE THAT HAD THE FEEL OF WATCHING THIS ONE. REALLY ENJOYED IT FROM BEGINNING TO END. NEVER A DULL MOMENT. I BOUGHT IT ON SALE FOR AROUND 5 BUCKS, WHICH WAS A BONUS, SINCE I DAMAGED MY FIRST COPY. IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO BUY AGAIN. ENOUGH SAID!

Though I can't say if this movie is bordering on truth or fiction, (though I believe it sits on the fiction plateau) I would have to enlighten anyone that hasn't seen this movie to at least watch it once. It is a very dark, fun, humorous, and interesting story. It stands alone even though it has roots from Life Aquatic, Burn After Reading, and The Great Tenenbaums

This is one of my favorite Wes Anderson films and it is every bit as good as Life Aquatic or Moonrise Kingdom. The story follows the owner of the Grand Budapest Hotel and shows how he acquired it and his adventures along the way. Even though everyone in the story doesn't have a happy ending, it is still a feel good movie and a comedy. I would highly recommend it.

Wes Anderson has established himself as a visionary in film of his generation and possibly beyond. However, this film even exceeds all the others. An amazing cast that tells this quirky story with impeccable timing and wonderful true heart even with their tongue in cheek. This film deserved every award it received and more that it was nominated for.

Found this movie on Netflix and wanted to purchase it so bad found it for 10 bucks at Best Buy in Arcadia. This movie is really great you can preview it on YouTube. Another great movie that I got it Best Buy is the incredible Mr Fox made by the same director these movies are awesome, I highly recommend them and it Best Buy low priced how can you beat it!

This movie was a dark comedy, which I can't even describe what exactly that is, other than you need to watch the full surroundings of each scene, watch what's happening in the background and analyze each of the comments made, and how that works with those surroundings and the situation at hand. Not the best movie, but worth watching and you'll find humor in it. It's kinda got a Blazzing Saddles, or Monty Python like humor to it.

Hilarious!! Each star makes their piece in this film standout . A very nice bundle of quirky comedy. Worth it to see what each actor brings to the story and to see how it all ties together in this picturesque make believe country that manages nicely to be quite believable. I predict the Grand Budapest to become something of a cult film!!

Director Wes Anderson makes quality films of his own devices and most of the time they sparkle. Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the sparklers! A story that has more facets than a high-end diamond, a great performance by Ralph Fiennes and terrific sets that ring of color and detail. This script never travels a mediocre road. This film shows the qualities of a top-notch filmmaker who is at the pinnacle of his game!
