I am a fan of M. Night Shyamalan movies; even the ones that seemingly everyone else ripped to shreds. However, The Happening, which I was drawn into like his other movies, ended so unimpressively that it undermined the rest of the movie. There was no payoff or explanation behind "The Happening", not to mention it lasted less than 90 minutes. It was as if Shyamalan's budget ran out. Sadly, I can't recommend this one.

Someone told me I should check this movie out. I picked it up for $5, so why not? Mark Wahlberg gives a pretty bad performance. The movie is very melodramatic. It's even convoluted at times, with the death sequences. After it's all said and done though, I can't help to wonder for the life of me, why people keep financing M. Night Shyamalan to make movies.

This movie has a great story but was not very scary..if your going to give the plant and tree life the ability to kill then wow me..they made you commit suiside. ..really?..you can do better then that..

Best Buy had a great deal going on so I decided to purchase it and give this movie a second chance after rewatching the happening it just made me realize how disappointing this movie is..again!

I was actually a huge fan of the director and even liked The Village which is kinda a polarizing film. This movie however i could not defend. I did like The Visit so maybe he is on a comeback

I usually like M. Night Shyamalan -- but what the heck was this. I expected more of a twist at the end. The story line has good intentions but I can't say it was worth the purchase.

This movie was not good at all. Really boring. It’s like they tried to make it good, but failed miserably.

This movie was something to watch...I did not think this movie was explained very well...needed more base...

It's just... amazing. It's not good, but you'll EASILY still find enjoyment just by laughing at it. Good movie to watch with friends.

Interesting looking movie when I bought it but highly disappointing after watching.. horrible ending.. waste of time.

1 Marky Mark is in no way a good actor. 2 this story was lame. 3 back to 1. pass.

Interesting premise but carries no weight no matter how good the performances of the cast bring.

Unless you're a hardcore M Might fan, I would skip this one.

Seems like the first bird box movie not that great

It was cheap and had Marky mark so i gave it a chance

Not terrible. I wasn't expecting much so I wasn't dissapointed.

No great story or plot with no action or twists wait til it's on TV.

Watched it and remembered it being better the first time.

There was a time I would've waited in line to see a M. Night movie... those days are gone. Up until The Village, I loved his movies, and even that movie I thought was pretty decent, but this one I waited until it was on DVD to see and I almost felt it was a waste of time. With the exceptions of a couple actors, the acting is pretty bad (in the extras Night says he wanted to make "the best B movie" ever made, but it's still pretty bad acting by that standard). The story seems farfetched, even some of the "normal" people seem crazy and some of the victims of the plague seem to put too much thought into how to die to make even that much believable. If you want a good movie by this director/writer, go with any of the first three films he made.
