It is a Blu-ray of a film from 1979, so you aren't going to get crisp HD graphics--you only get what is available from the original film. With that in mind, though, the film quality is certainly sufficient to enjoy the movie. Relatively absurd, and DEFINITELY not politically correct, but if you are a fan of Steve Martin, you should enjoy watching this movie. SMALL SPOILER ALERT - Steve Martin is a white boy adopted by a black family; some viewers may find the jokes/dialogue to be offensive when applied to today's standards.

Had to have this in Blu-ray. And I wasn't disappointed. No telling how many times I have watched this one over the years.

Been a long time since I viewed this movie, and enjoyed reliving the laughs from when I watched it the first time.

If you haven’t seen the Jerk by now you don’t know what your missing. I saw this at the theater when I was 16. My mom had to take me because it was rated R. At the time I was and I still am a huge Steve Martin fan. Around the time of this movie he was already quite the star with his work in stand up and SNL. This movie made him a movie star. Hysterical with a lot of subtle sight gags that Steve fans will find funny and others will look at you and wonder what you’re laughing at. I owned 26th anniversary edition on dvd and didn’t know it was out on Blu-ray until I saw it at Best Buy. I purchased it without hesitation. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Steve Martin is NOT a jerk. He's a GENIUS! His first film is a masterpiece of idiotic brilliance.

I think this film is a necessity for anyone who remotely finds Steve Martin amusing.

The film debut of the already phenomenally successful stand-up comedian Steve Martin. Co-written by Martin, the film really showcases his talent and natural ease in front of the camera that hinted at what comedy gold was yet to come. Steve Martin as naive rube Navin Johnson, bumbles through life stubbornly optimistic from one (mis)adventure to another. From "finding his purpose in life", to love, to going from rags to riches to rags again, nothing will stop Navin Johnson's optimism. Gust stars include the incredible Bernadette Peters, Jackie Mason and Carl Reiner.

Steve Martin is a master of comedy. I watched this movie two days ago, but it seems like six days ago. The first day seemed like two days. The second day like just a day. The third day like a half day, but the fourth day like one and a half days. The fifth day seemed like two days, and the sixth day like just a day. I have it written down. I can show it to you if you want. If you don't get that reference, then buy this movie! It is the single greatest UNCUT shot I have ever seen in comedy. Amazing.

I know this is a classic, I never watched it and was on sale so I gave it a try. It was ok watchable I didn't really laugh through the movie but it wasn't the worse movie I've ever seen

Probably one of the most stupid, hilarious, Nonsensical movies that you will ever see in your lifetime. But you must see it if you never have and if you have you must revisit it in Blu-ray. The last time I saw this movie was on VHS oh my gosh what a difference. Sat down with my kids and watched it they flipped out.

One of my favorite Steve Martin films, and it now looks better than ever in this excellent, newly restored, presentation from Shout Factory. The new conversation with Steve Martin and Carl Reiner was an especially nice touch! Definitely worth the double dip on Blu-ray for fans, this is the definitive home video release!

Steve Martin’s classic The Jerk in an awesome Anniversary Edition Blu-ray with collectible slipcover is a real treat for movie collectors and Steve Martin fans alike. Me, being both, couldn’t be happier to own this movie. Only drawback... no digital copy. Oh well, still an awesome addition to my collection.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Steve Martin is a comedic genius. This movie was made before political correctness was a big thing, so if you are easily offended, you may not like it and you are probably also not much fun at parties. This is just as good as it was the first time I saw it over 20 years ago.
