A movie I thoroughly enjoy made even better in 4K. Incredible cast, well acted, well written and spectacular scenery.

I read the book first and didn't particularly care for the theatrical edition. The extended edition is fantastic.

This is a review of the extended cut version. I initially was bummed the code stated that it could be expired depending when it was bought in 2019, but I didn’t buy this for the code. I bought it for the actual media. Detail is crazy and the sound mix is perfect! Great pic for sure

4K makes this excellent movie jump off the screen on my fantastic new LG B2, which I also bought at Best Buy.

This movie is already rated high in my books even without 4K. The added 4K features is the topping on the cake. This Ridley Scott directed movie staring Matt Damon is great for the family. Some adventure, drama and a bit of comedy. The story and cast performance made my top 10.

Loved the book. Loved the movie. Looks fantastic on 4K. Originally owned the digital HD version. Also wanted it on disc and upgraded to 4K. Fox Studios' 4K movies come with a digital copy, but they won't upgrade your digital movie to the 4K version like most every other studio I've done this with (upgrade to 4K even though I already own the 1080 hd). Even though the 4K digital versions are available for sale. Hopefully once Disney buys them this policy will change. I'm hanging on to the digital codes just in case.

I had this movie forever on streaming but only in 1080. It looks so incredible in 4K, plus the movie itself is awesome.

This was a great movie for a space nerd like me. I always love science fiction. However the movie does have plot holes. For example why would they have an extra Mars Ascent Vehicle for a future mission when the wind is so bad that the crew had to leave Mark Watney behind. Also in Mars does not get such high winds granted this is a work of fiction. Overall the movie was fun to watch and I'm glad they included an extended cut. What I can't overlook is the use of Viva Elite cases which is notorious for leaving residue on discs, and are made of brittle plastic that breaks very easily. This cannot be good for the discs in the long run. Collectors beware!

There are many movies about MARs exploration and this one is among the most credible - great acting with suspense, drama and a little humor thrown in to keep you on your toes. Now in UHD quality and resolution plus extra footage not seen in theaters - a great package.

Film director Ridley Scott is well known for releasing direct-to-disc “Extended Editions” or “Director’s Cuts” of selected movies, usually several months after the completion of their theatrical runs. His most notable Director’s Cuts, which are usually vastly superior to their shorter theatrical releases, include “Kingdom of Heaven,” “American Gangster,” “Gladiator,” and now “The Martian.” I’ve already reviewed the theatrical release version on Blu-ray disc (BD) of “The Martian” here at Amazon. I think it’s a nearly perfect blend of drama, high adventure, suspense, comedy, and realistically futuristic technology. Starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Sean Bean, and based on Andy Weir’s novel of the same name, it tells the story of how an American astronaut, presumed killed in a violent sandstorm on Mars, is left behind to fight for his survival against incredibly long odds… “The Martian Extended Edition” is a 2-BD set, with one disc containing both the theatrical release and extended edition of Scott’s feature film, and the other containing a wide variety of excellent special features – most of which are brand new. The extended edition is 151 minutes long and adds about 10 minutes of footage to the theatrical release. Most of the extra footage shows astronaut Mark Watney’s heroic efforts to survive on Mars long enough for someone to come and rescue him. A few minutes are added to various scenes back on earth at Mission Control. I didn’t see any significant differences between the extended and theatrical versions of the film, so I’m a bit undecided as to whether or not my purchase of “The Martian Extended Edition” was worth the extra money I paid for it. However, if there were anything that does make my purchase worthwhile, it would have to be that supplemental “Special Features” disc included in this 2-BD set. I thought the bonus features were all very entertaining, interesting, and helpful in enhancing my enjoyment of the feature film. Highly recommended for both the feature film and the outstanding bonus features.

Watching this movies makes you think what we might be doing on our first visit to mars great movie !

Sonic The Hedgehog Now Including Where You Buy 16-Bit

It's a good movie, reviews of which are numerous, so I won't go into that. This is a great 4K rendition, great to look at and listen to. Even if you've seen the movie before, if you haven't see it in 4K, it's probably worth seeing again.

If you have ever thought about going on one of the ships destined for Mars and colonizing it, this movie makes that a reality and the dangers associated with this type of venture. We have a long way to go before we can colonize a planet.

A great movie to really showcase a 4k display. Looks fantastic, the extended cut on the disc adds some subtler character moments back into the film, and there is a wealth of bonus content the quality of which we, sadly, rarely get any more.

The 4 k version of THe Martin!!! 4 k is a of course a quality picture the just blueray !!!!

Great movie! Better in 4K where al the details really come to life.
