The service was great received right away, The Matrix Collection was excellent

That this is the best purchase you made all year? There is no Red Pill/Blue Pill resolve here, if you want to own a timeless piece of cinematic excellence that COMPLETELY changed the industry, this is The One. The Matrix is unfortunately going to suffer a little bit because of its reliance on CGI, and as we know CGI creeps out of date year to year. Reloaded and Revelations are no exception. The Mr. Smith battles and mech suits are showing their age as the 2000's approach fifteen years ago. And that's telling you just how unabashedly detailed these films are. Fishbrune's visage has gone from iconic to landscape in these movies. There is clear distinction between types of black in the actors' wardrobes. That's right, different types of blacks! So these are incredibly well detailed. Sound is 5.1 and for my setup I can here everything that needs to be heard while still not missing a second of background audio fidelity. The package is like a standard two winged Blu-ray package, with thicker n*pples for two discs on each cover side. A thing to note about this entire series is the Blu-ray automatically starts playing when you put it in, and doesn't default to the main menu. But there is a main menu and a pop-up menu. For the main movies this isn't a problem, but for the Animatrix this causes just a little grief. The Animatrix is nine shorts from various artists that focus on the ethos of the Matrix each with their own mini plot. So if you just want to watch one particular short and not all nine in a row, you have to select them from the pop-up menu at which point it'll go through the movie, then the credits, then they 20 (!) intellectual property rights warnings. This a little extreme and a slight oversight by Warner Bros. The Animatrix is why I re-purchased this series again on BR, because previously it was DVD only. It was worth the re-purchase. If you are a fan of Aeon Flux, Cowboy Bebop, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Evangelion, the studio Madhouse, IG, the shorts in Memories or an absurd number of various other artists and studios that have been in the biz for multiple decades, you will want to get The Animatrix in this set. It's the best it has ever looked with clean frame rates, crisp audio, deep colors, and no static, artifacts, or unsightly objects. On top of all of this is a gargantuan amount of behind the scenes for each film and each of the Animatrix shorts. I don't see the reason to get the collector's edition beyond superfluous packaging because these have almost too much for special features, director's commentary, spoofs, the list goes on. The extras menu is a little small when you access it, but the amount of things to view is something like half a day between all four discs! Also, the movies are Region Free!!! Considering the number of subtitle options, the passive region restrictions, and the audio options, the series is accessible to just about anyone. I got this during the holidays with a (5) certificate and I wound up spending like eight clams on the whole series. Really, there's no reason why you shouldn't have THIS version release in your library. It's just too good and too easy to get everything you could possibly want from these movies. Not only HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, it's a requisite purchase.

I don't think any movie collection would be complete without The Matrix movies. Comes with Dolby TrueHD audio soundtrack and the animated feature Animatrix, which contains 9 short animated films from different directors who all have very, very different styles of storytelling and yet manage to weave all 9 stories cohesively into the Matrix universe. True masterpiece.

Had to buy a copy on blu-ray so the kids could watch it in the car. One of the many joys of having young kids is watching them experience some of the great movies we've seen hundreds of times. They are a little dark at times for younger kids but my daughter loves the lobby gunfight scene.

Quality of audio and video is flawless, and the set is presented well. I am a huge Matrix fan. Every one knows what movie is about but possibility to have and watch then all beats anything. It goes to my collection. Great release.

Seeing these movies again is a ton of fun, especially in this neat little package. Animatrix is the cherry on top. Highly recommend if you're into these movies.

If you like the movie, then you should get it. I have seen it a few times already. The picture quality is excellent on my 120 inch projector screen. I got it for a good price, so definitely worth it.

Love this trilogy.... My favorite.... Highly recommended to any sci- fi fan.

"You can own the entire Matrix franchise in one small DVD case." Those were my thoughts as I contemplated the purchase. But I knew, just knew, that if I purchased this compact collection I would not only free up shelf space but I'd be watching them all AGAIN! Thus putting off various responsibilities and chores. Did I want to face that reality or let it go? Anyway, I bought it and yeah, I slacked off on chores. It was worth it though. Watching these movies in high resolution with a nice surround system. LOVED IT! Vibrant colors, amazing special effects and a great sci-fi story. Just remember, if you purchase this then you will end up watching them all again and again while ignoring reality.

SAY WHAT YOU WILL ABOUT THE TRILOGY. THE PLOTHOLES, THE RELIGIOUS PARALLELS, THE FACT THAT SOME OF IT MADE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. WHATEVER. THESE ARE SOME OF THE FINEST SCI FI MOVIES MADE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS. NOT ONLY DO YOU GET THE TRILOGY, YOU ALSO GET THE ANIMATED SHORTS ENTITLED ANIMATRIX. GREAT BANG FOR THE BUCK. IF YOURE A FAN OF THE SERIES, NO BETTER PLACE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY

If you're looking for just the film's this set offers them all AND includes the animatrix too! Keep in mind the set is not complete with the making of documentary and bonus content that you'd find in the complete collection set, but for most people this product is just what they're looking for.

Love, love, love this movie. It's great to have all four in one set. This is video binging at it's best. AND you get the AniMatrix also. I didn't even know about those videos. Definitely a gotta see, it explains some behind the scene questions you may have asked. Plus, don't you just love Keanu in the coat and glasses???? It's worth every penny and its a lot less than buying individually.
