We bought this as a Christmas present for my brother in law

I have seen a horde of Mummy movies over the years, Hammer with Christopher Lee, the reboots with Arnold Vosloo and CGI effects to the new Tom Cruise film coming in 2017. To me you can't beat this Karloff classic. jack Pierce's make-up effect as the Mummy and it's living almost human form are a blast in the glorious Black & White images. Must see for all Universal classic horror fans or fans of classic film in general.

Like so many of the Universal "monster movies," The Mummy isn't really 'horror' by today's standards, but that is the charm. You really understand cinema and culture at the time it was released when watching this classic. It's entertaining even if you're not into 'old movies' but just want to enjoy a good story. I'm not into the extras on most movie releases, but these are top notch.

The Alex Ross artwork is beautiful. I'm not sure what to say about the film that hasn't already been said but it's a fantastic classic that is a must watch for any horror film enthusiasts. Definitely check out the other Alex Ross steelbooks and get em while you can! Beautiful additions to any collection.

Comics artist Alex Ross delivers a cover for this steelbook edition that perfectly captures the essence of the 1932 Karloff version of the film. These original Universal Monsters are CLASSICS because they have stood the test of time. Ross has nailed the highlight of the film.

Alex Ross’s art for the cover of this steelbook is a masterpiece. It perfectly captures the mood and tone of the film. Great restoration of the classic film with fun features about the history of the film and its creature and even info on Universal Studios.

Can you hear that moaning, the scraping of the feet on the ground, the relentless approach of the undead? No its not Resident Evil it the first of the undead brought to life by the men searching for treasure and they find the curse of eternal death.

Must see Universal Monster Movie Classic. Alex Ross out does himself on the artwork, and Best Buy outdid themselves with the packaging for the Steelbooks. Usually there is always a chance of the steelbook being damaged. this was well preserved.

This is a classic Universal Monster film, everyone should see the original at least once. The transfer is excellent and the audio is clean for such an old film. Packaging on this release is good quality and is worth it for excellent cover art.

Thee original mummy, ahhhh Boris Karloff had already become legend in Frankenstein, then again in bride of Frankenstein, he wasn't done yet, the mummy had now been made & ready for release to show the world that Boris is an icon.

When I saw the Alex Ross Steelbooks, I just had to have them. They are so amazing, specially all together. Beautiful artwork, and the movies look stunning in HD. Plus bonus, these steels come with a clear slipcover for protection.

As with the other steelbooks in this collection, it has a sort of “flat paint type” look to it, instead of glossy. Comes with a plastic protective sleeve. The artwork, though not realistic, is also not “cartoony”.

Good old monster movie. I would recommend. Much better than the newer ones.

The Universal Monsters are well known to any horror fan and to any fan of film in general. I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for something to get them in the Halloween mood. The Blu-Ray transfer looks great.

One of the most iconic of the early Universal Monster films is lovingly documented in this gorgeous Steelbook. A must-own for fans and collectors, alike. Highly recommended!
