A Different Kind of Game...Good, but different
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is kind of a hard game to review. The game lasts about 9 hours, and really could not be classified as difficult. The game pretty much leads you through the story...it is very linear with action scenes added in. I found the story to be engaging, the graphics outstanding, the action/gun battle scenes OK, and there is really very little replayability. A good distraction and worth a bargain bin purchase, but probably not at full price.

Much better than it's getting credit for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best graphics this gen bar none. It's a story driven game with some action. If your looking for a Call of Duty experience, then you'll be disappointed. It's a well made game.

short but not terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worth a rent or purchase at steep discount. Game is very good looking, but pretty short and extremely linear. Some annoying developer choices, like a gun you have to charge before shooting that gives no obvious sign that it is charged. Halfway through the game the stealth take down mechanic frustratingly changes. The story doesn't really make sense and is a bit random. If there's a round 2 and the dev is receptive, it could be great.

If only graphics won the review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The visuals in this game are probably the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately the game fails to deliver a satisfying package. The game play is great (though cloned from Gears of War). The story is very cliche, but I enjoyed it. The weapons are awesome. However the game is very short. Though this is one of the easiest if not the current PS4 easiest platinum trophy run. If you're in to that sort of thing, this is worth it to you.

A simple & classic type of game, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game looks beautiful, full of details, & smooth blending between the gameplay and scenes. However, the gameplay is more linear and the controls are really basic just like back in the day games. Best way to explain this, is to compare it to Gears of War. I consider the story to be really short (6 hours maybe) so once you pass it, you might not play it ever again. Another thing that bothered me was that you can't interact with the environment you're in, so it feels like an empty lifeless world after a while. Aside from that, it was a great game, personally I enjoyed it, just wish it could've been more longer.

Good, but short.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game was visually amazing. Great graphics, amazing story line just a short game. Seems like they're going to add more content in the future, but definitely worth the buy.

Nice ps4 exclusive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this game is one of the best exclusives Sony has to offer. Graphics are amazing and the story keeps you wanting more. The only down side to this game is that its short.

All style, no substance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Order is a great looking and sounding game, and it has a great premise. However, the execution is deeply flawed and it was ultimately a dull experience that I practically had to force myself to finish. The game design felt lazy--too much walking around doing absolutely nothing. And even when there is action, far too much of it is either quick-time events, or you're just dispatching waves of enemies who funnel right at you in very small, linear environments. They story itself is also incomplete--way too many loose ends, and they don't even focus on the interesting elements that are there. Ultimately, this was a big disappointment. Just a poorly made game hiding underneath some admittedly amazing production values. It only took me 6 hours to beat, and barely half that time was spent actually playing what could be called real gameplay, and again, the gameplay is not particularly well designed. Not worth the purchase.

Pretty, short, and poorly paced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Order: 1886 is easily one of the best looking games of this new generation, with lofty cinematic aspirations. It's also a short and poorly paced game that gives players little to do except walk for long stretches of its single player campaign. The cover-based shooting is competent and the world is well-crafted, there just isn't much to do in it. This is a game well-suited to rental or purchase and trade-in.

Great Story Based Game - I loved it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love a good story game and don't mind if it only takes 15 instead of 50+ hours to complete. I feel that some people just get caught up in the open world games where there is tons of stuff to do. Personally, I get bored with that after a while. I love to play an intriguing story and I love good graphics and mechanics. This game plays very nicely, the story is pretty cool in my opinion, and the graphics are THE BEST that the PS4 has to offer so far. I can only recommend this game. I took off a star just because there is little replay value...but nonetheless I would buy this game again! Enjoy!

Great game but could've been better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Order: 1886 has great visuals with a good story but the bad pacing keeps this game from being much better. Definetly rent the game if you have the opportunity.

do not wait
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited a few months to finally buy this game that i highly anticipated because of a lot of bad reviews and negative comments regarding its length. Yes it would be great if the game took 20+ hours to beat but the time you do get with the game is on another level of most games up to this point. Incredible graphics, incredible voice acting, great gameplay, great story, the quick time events are a lot of fun and the game is just definitely worth your time. you won't be dissapointed.

Good Game but needed more development
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Order: 1886 had promise in that it was supposed to be a new IP by Sony for their new console in the 8th generation PS4. The story is about a 19th century London Victorian Knight, Gray Gallahad who supposed to be part of the a modern version of King Arthur's knights of the round table. He is able to live longer than mortals because of drinking from the holy grail. He and others in his group ( in the game he works with 3 other people) who go after supernatural enemies (Werewolves and Vampires). The level design and graphics are very well done for this game. The controls are okay but at times the weapons felt a little underpowered (when going against enemies, it should not take so many shots to kill them). Another aspect which was somewhat weak was the ineffectiveness of the few stealth missions in the game. The game was automatically ended your mission if you are seen. Lastly the QTE (Quick Time Events) there were so many that it was crazy but many were fun. Some somethings was how Nikola Tesla was creating weapons for The Order and how they were used in the battle. Also, the fact that there is a rich story and a conspiracy in the game once you reach about the half way point of the game. Overall, I believe this game should be a 3.5/5. It is a decent game and I believe if they had a progression system for the player (skillset) and/or added a co-op part in the single player campaign, this would have been more of a solid game at 4/5 or higher.

Great for what it is!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The order 1886 is a beautiful piece of art. It looks amazing, I was immersed in the world, and it will impress you with its Movie like quality. But thats what it is. Be prepared to go into this game as an Interactive experience. about half of the game is you watching a film while interacting with it, while the second half is that fun gritty 3rd person shooter! there is no multiplayer and really not much replay value. but the game is great, to the point, and entertaining. It may not be for everyone so go into it knowing that you're in for a story and an interactive experience.

Good game, but not worth full price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The order was an enjoyable, but short experience. The graphics are spectacular. The story is interesting and the setting is cool. But, there are far too many cutscenes and quick time events that disrupt the flow at times. Add in the length of time to complete and minimal replay value and you have a game that should've been priced lower. I recommend it but wait until it goes on sale or rent it.

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful game play and great story but the game is a little short. About 5 hours of game play if you focus on the main game. Other than that great game.

Very good game, not as bad as the reviews give it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is a little bit on the short, so play it at its hardest level. Graphics are great, story is great. Hoping for more DLC missions, really like this game.

Fun Game the Doesn't Wear Out It's Welcome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A cinematic and beautiful third-person shooter with some fun guns and an interesting story. The game doesn't set the world on fire, but I had a ton of fun the 7 hours I played it. This game might not be for you if: You don't like QTEs You need a lot of replayability You like open-world games You hate games that try to be movies I actually like all of those things, so I enjoyed the game quite a bit. Sometimes I just want a pretty game where I walk from shooting gallery to shooting gallery and kill stuff with cool guns and this filled that void for me.

Ok experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't pay full price for this game thankfully. I actually like narrative based games and the setting really appealed to me. That being said something about the pacing was off. They give too much away at the start so there is no real payoff at the end and it was clearly written to support a sequel. I would be interested in where it goes next but I can't say I recommend it.
