Usually I a not a big "spin-off" fan...in the case of the Originals I am OBSESSED! Word of advise, you can watch from season 1 and pick up the pieces, but you really should watch TVD (you can start at 3 if you want) to get the full back story of the original family! Julie Plec is a goddess she's so amazing at creating and writing these characters and the chemistry of the cast is just unbelievable! I have convinced a lot of friends to watch and not one of them didn't also get hooked!

This is probably one of the best spin off series of an original that we have seen. It may even be better than the Orginal....you see what I did there. Seriously though, it's intense, the music is great, picks up right where Vampire Diaries stopped with them, and just like the Vampire Diaries, you really feel for characters that in most cases would be villains. Klaus especially.

Fan of the Vampire Diaries and wasn't sure how I'd like this "spin-off" series. I enjoyed it a lot. Very rich, detailed and imaginative storyline - great entertainment. Purchased the Blu-ray / DVD Combo because it was only a few dollars more - very good quality picture and sound and nicely packaged.

Finally The Originals made it to dvd/bluray! Great show for those of you who have seen the related CW show before this starring the Originals; and for those who haven't it's an easy series to pick up as most of their backgrounds are explained along this first season! Looking forward to Season 2!

I was originally (see what I did there) excited when they actually made this spinoff into an actual show. Love the vampire diaries. And season one did not disappoint! I've been getting all my tv shows on blue ray lately and the crystal clear picture can't get any better

I have thoroughly enjoyed what other spinoffs are rarely capable of doing: creating a series that is self-sustaining in itself and widens the perspective of the characters and the world they inhabit that we have grown so much to love.

I really like the originals. I'm a huge fan of the vampire diaries and this is a spin off of that show, it's set in New Orleans. Great supernatural story line. If you watch or like the vampire diaries then you will like this too.

I like this TV show. I think that it's an excellent spin off of the Vampire Diaries. The actors are credible in their roles. It's believable to the extent that I enjoy watching it. I think they have a winner with this show.

If you love anything to do with Vampires, Witches and Werewolves this show will fill the bill! It has sarcasm, forbidden love and boy do they have a dysfunctional family! I LOVE IT!

Very happy to be able to add this series to my collection. Still have not had a chance to explore all the extras but even without them I'm glad I made this purchase.

This story had to be told. Location+Characters+Script = The best Spin-off ever. On the other hand, I don't get the BD+DVD combo....but its still a great bargain.

This show, "The Originals" is a spin-off from the CW's Vampire Diaries but stands on its own as a solid horror-fantasy program. Like most CW shows the cast is pretty but also quite talented. If you like eternal dysfunctional families this is for you. Plus the New Orleans setting can't be beat.

I am a sci fi nut and love Vampire Diaries.. This spin off does a great job of continuing the story and keeping your interest!

This is a great show,you think you are tired of more vampires and wolves,the story line and charactors re very good!

Loved the Originals so much the first time I had to see it again. Features were an added bonus. Great deal.
