This is one of those rare films that gets better each time you watch it. With something for everyone, The Princess Bride combines romance, action, adventure and parody to create the perfect movie.

The movie is great as expected, but only giving 4 stars due to the fact that it is not a 30th anniversary edition. It is a standard edition with a 30th anniversary picture stuck to the front of the standard movie case.

Great movie for everyone great value at Best Buy recommend for every family to add to their collection. It's inconceivable not to get this great classic.

This timeless classic is one of the best family movies. The 30th anniversary edition with the digital HD belongs in everyone's collection.

I absolutely love the packaging, the fabric cover and artwork is beautiful and so fitting. I do wish they would pack it a bit differently, an info sheet was stuck to the back with some kind of glue and left a mark after removal. From what I can tell, this is a common issue...

A classic movie. Romance, action and adventure! Great on Blu-ray. A must own & a good watch for those you deem old enough to watch PG rated movies. It’s rated PG for mild swearing, a few dirty jokes & mild violence.

Who doesn't love the Princess Bride?! It is a classic and you have the chance to own it at a terrific price. I have only a handful of movies and this makes the cut. Highly recommend since its the type of film that has something for everyone and can be thrown on anytime!

Obviously the movie is amazing, so I'm not rating that but instead the packaging. I was excited for the 30th Anniversary Edition because of the picture of the cover. I didn't really expect new bonus features at this point so I wasn't disappointed by that. It just was a bit of a let down that the fan favorite voted cover isn't on the paper insert or even an outer shell that often accompanies movies. It's literally just a piece of cardboard stuck on to the case. The actual picture on the insert is from the 25th Anniversary Edition. It's still a classic movie but disappointing packaging if you already have a good copy.

I grew up with this movie and have the first release of it on DVD. For whatever reason, I never upgraded to blu ray and now I'm glad I didn't! This disc is great! Criterion is known for treating films "right" and releasing excellent special editions for fans. The movie has never looked or sounded better and the extras are great. I'm sure I'll eventually triple dip for the 4k version but until then, this is a great addition to my movie collection.

This is a superb transfer. It is actually FHD 1008p. I was very surprised and impressed. I've seen this movie so many times in the past on TV and on DVD, but the quality was always just subpar, grainy and pixelated. But this blu-ray copy on my 4k Blu-Ray Player with 4k HDR TV and Dolby Vision this is everything I have always wanted it to be and probably the director's vision as well. Well worth the money for the Blu-Ray source over DVD for 4k upscale. My family was very happy. It looks very modern now not all grainy and pixelated which was how I always saw it previously so I wasn't expecting much with this blu-ray, but I was happily disappointed in that regard. It is as close to a perfect transfer to FHD (1080p) as possible and even better upscaled to 4k from the 1080p source. So much better than the DVD copy of it I had. That thing was garbage. They did this transfer justice, and it will serve my family and friends years of viewing enjoyment! My one gripe and not a biggie, just something I noticed, is that they only transfer in FHD up until the end of the film. Once the credits start rolling it goes back to SD quality.with the images in the background all grainy and pixelated while the credits roll. Was it really going to cost much more to do that last minute while there were still images on the screen? Geez. But, everything up to the credits is perfection and makes viewing this movie even that much more pleasurable than it already was. Even some of the special features are in 1080p which is nice. Oh and lastly this is the 2017 release, but it's the same inlay as the 2015 release with a 30th anniversary cardboard rubber cemented to the front. Essentially a repackage of the same stuff. But, it's all good. Especially when I got it for half off b/c it was on sale. Inconceivable!

...the movie is an excellent adaptation. It's full of amazing imagery and numerous quotable lines. It works both as a romance and an adventure tale. Highly recommended for all ages. The one drawback is the limitation for the digital version. It is for iTunes only, which is locked to that system, and for Roku and Amazon Fire users, that makes it difficult to use the streaming version.

True love isn't the only thing that withstands the test of time, so does this movie. Soooo many famous one liners. One of our all time favorites. Only known one person that has never seen this movie. She was a coworker so I let her borrow it so that she and her husband could watch it together. They both didn't care for it. But we absolutely love it.

What can be said about this movie that hasn't been said? It's a timeless classic filled with adventure, comedy, romance, and so many memorable moments and lines, all framed as a story being told by a grandfather to his grandson, who bond over the afternoon when the boy is home sick in bed. It's a fun flick everyone will enjoy.

You can’t beat this adventure of love, wittiness and comedy. Plus, the movie pop culture references this has produced. It’s one of those must watch, must know of movies that most people bring up. The excellent cast plays up to their parts in this tale of a man who has lost his love and fights his way back to save her. Recommended.

After hearing about this movie from just about everybody, I had to check it out. Came across this less than $10 Bluray + Digital combo and I was sold! Very iconic word play and quotes, a lot of recognizable faces, and a plot that supersedes most movies today. Highly recommend, this is definitely a "watch over and over" movie.

This is one of my all time favorite movies and it's great to have the 30th anniversary edition on blu ray. The movie looks and sounds great on my system, though I wish they had been able to produce more of the new supplements. In any case, this movie truly stands the test of time.
