This is a fantastic movie for the kids ( especially young athletes ) and adults also. At least it took me back to my younger days! A very enjoyable classic movie.

I enjoyed the movie. It makes me feel nostalgia every time I watch it. The story rang true even after 25 years. Watch out for foul language when watching with kids though.

This is easily one of the best movies to own. I've watched it many times and never grow tired of the storyline. It is about an awkward kid who moves into a neighborhood. The kids stepfather intends to teach him to play baseball, but he never seems to make time. So, an older kid in the neighborhood takes him in. The new kid not only learns how to play, but also some valuable life lessons too. This is one of those movies where you get to see the kids as adults and what they've become. This is a great movie to watch with your kids/grandchildren.

This one just feels right. It captures summer, baseball and being a kid. If Stand By Me found a baseball diamond instead of a body, it might look something like this.

I had this classic on DVD and it was unwatchable on my new 4k tv due to the transfer quality. The blu ray version is a completely different story, it looks amazing.

The clarity is better than dvd but only buy if on sale, appears to be more of an upscale of the dvd than a new transfer from the original print

My daughter loved this movie the minute she saw it. And she loves it even more knowing that one of the cast memeber, actually made it to the big leagues.

Good video and audio quality. I wish there was some more featurettes as this is an anniversary edition, but this is a great deal for the price.

The movie is classic and every child should see it, and hopefully grow to love baseball. But more importantly every child should live what is on display here. The childhood of getting together with the other kids in the neighborhood to do something everyday as a group are memories I cherish, and it's not exclusive to suburban kids. I grew up in the inner city and moved around like the main character. At one stop we had a baseball field near by and the neighborhood kids would walk there and play. At another stop we rode BMX bikes, and at another we played street football. It's the notion of being with peers and growing together that you don't forget.
