I absolutely love John Carpenter's 1982 horror masterpiece The Thing!! The Thing is very much like watching Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien. I love the cast with Kurt Russell as R.J. Mccready and the practical FX by Rob Botin!!

Wonderful sci-fi horror movie really, this movie is worth having in your collection!

This is an outstanding version of THE THING. The colors are like never seen before, blacks are truely black and whites are so bright, ice is beautiful blues and hues therefore. Detailed items I have visually missed before and sonically missed. This rendition is of greater quality than the original theatre quality or any I have ever seen before. I have seen this movie somewhere between 25-30 times

The Steelbook has iconic poster art on the back and image of the "melted men" on the front in a crisp matte finish that feels like very good quality! It's a shame these seem to be so limited. Yet other steels get rows on the shelves. If you are lucky enough to find one, get it!

This is one of the best 4k transfers I have seen. Your gonna notice things you didnt before. HDR is on point too. They easily took 15 years off the indoor scenes alone. Outdoor shots are still a bit grainy but are improved as well. So glad I own this on 4k.

This has to be one of the coolest looking steelbooks I have ever seen. When I first saw it online I knew I needed it. I was able to pick one up and still think it’s one of the best looking steelbooks for one of the best horror movies ever made.

Tied for my faorite horror film of all time. This was a must have and Best buy was theplace to have it.

I've had the special edition DVD for years, and finally upgraded to the SP Blu Ray so I could introduce my son to this sci fi/horror classic. It was worth the upgrade. The picture is terrific, and the special features (those that carried over and the new ones) make this worth getting. More discs now have fewer special features, but this is loaded. The movie is terrific, and is a cool take on the classic 50s movie which was one of Carpenter's favorites. You can tell he loves the story, and that he took the time to carefully craft a new version of it true to the original. Story telling through movies just isn't the same now.

Whilst missing out on the Steel book cover I did not fret. As owning this film multiple times and in multiple different versions and form factors. I can say this is the most DEFINITIVE way to enjoy THE THING! If you love this film pick this up and if you ever see the steel book back in stock or a new set! Definitely add it to your collection once again!
